Mariza's Mixed Mayhem! Lex vs Mariza!

"Hm...I've never heard of her before." *The self-appointed genius muttered aloud to himself. Scrolling through her profile online however, he soon discovered a rather fetching woman appearing on his phone's screen.* "Ooh..is that so." *Content with his opponent for the evening, he casually tossed his phone into his gym bag before nonchalantly trotting out of the backstage locker room while approaching the black curtain.*

*As his theme began to blast from the speakers, his entire disposition changed from blaze' to genuinely disrespectful, occasionally shooting the bird to the audience while a basking in the glow of dawning such a nefarious persona.*

*After slipping through the ropes, Lex snatched a microphone from the ring announcer before giving it a gentle tap, allowing the feedback to further exacerbate the audience.* "So, seems like another thot in this league of floozies wants to go toe to toe with me. Well, who am I to refuse such a request?" * And with that, he tossed the mic over the top rope and squatted down, anticipating the match to come.*

Standing behind the entrance ramp, Marzia didn't know what was ahead for her. She hadn't been having much luck with her matches thus far - but of course, it was still too early to say much, and that at least gave her some solace. No, what worried her this time was that her opponent was...a dude. That was new for Marzia, and she didn't know what to expect, never having been in a situation like this before. She would like to think that she had worked up enough experience, and a reasonable degree of confidence, against other girls before, but she had no idea what she was up for now, or how it'd be different. She could only pray that it was different in a good way, if it was going to be different at all. Still, she reminded herself, there was a first time for anything. Taking in a breath, she waited for her name to be called.

But while she was listening at the curtains, she didn't hear her name - instead, she heard her opponent, already in the ring, trash-talking her before she was even out the gate. Marzia's face went red at the thought, and her hand gripped tighter against the fabric of the curtains, trembling softly. This didn't bode well. Already, Lex was starting to get her off her game. More than just embarrassed, though, she was mad. This guy had a lot of nerve, if he thought he could insult her before he even so much as saw her face. That was something Marzia couldn't stand for.

Finally, Marzia threw the curtains aside and stormed onto the entrance ramp, her fingers balled in a fist in her left hand as she jabbed a finger down at the ring with her right. "Hey!! You!" she shouted at Lex, only to find that beyond her initial invictive, she didn't exactly have a lot to say in response. As the silence in the arena settled in, the Italian girl began to realise she was left with dead air, causing her to blush even harder. Shit, she thought, so much for making a good entrance. She had to think of something, anything, to salvage this, and she ended up blurting out the first thing she could think of. "That...uh...I mean, that isn't very...nice!"

As a few snickers went through the room, she had to admit to herself how pathetic that was.

And more than that, she realized, she had gotten out on the ramp before her entrance had even been called.

Whoops.

A second later, though not before Marzia had time to gulp and the sweat beaded on the back of her neck, her theme music kicked in.

Now that she was actually supposed to make her entrance, Marzia proceeded down to the ring, trying as hard as she could to look intimidating and with her wits about her. Still, it was quite apparent to anyone looking on that she didn't exactly have a cool head on her shoulders. Her arms and legs were tense and switching anxiously, and the casual nature of her gait to the ring proved that it wasn't the sort of measured step she had rehearsed. But there was no going back now. With a huff, she got in the ring, and raised her fists, narrowing her eyes and trying to ignore the heat in her cheeks.

"Listen!" she snapped. "I don't care how that went...but don't let it fool you, okay? Uh...I can still pack a punch, and you're gonna feel it, and...then you'll have to admit you got beaten by a girl! So there!" She took a few breaths to collect herself. Yeah, it wasn't the best speech, but the most important part of this bout was going to be how well she could put up a fight. And that, she hoped, would prove better.

*After witnessing what had to have been one of the most pathetic displays of showmanship and mic work he'd ever seen in his young career, Lex nearly doubled over from copious amounts of laughter. The crowd, however, seemed to still despise him from his earlier shenanigans and refused to indulge in hurting the girl's feelings.*

"I highly doubt you'll be able to topple someone twice your size, but hey, maybe this match can be your rude awakening of when your dreams get steamrolled by my reality!" *Disregarding any and all forms of pre-match pleasantries, Lex bullrushed the flustered female in an attempt to clothesline her inti oblivion.*

Seeing Lex collapse in laughter only served to anger Marzia more, as she balled her fists tightly, her face going bright red at being shown up like this. "S-Shut up!" she shouted, trembling. "Maybe...maybe if you hadn't tried to take over the entrance before I was even out, I would've had time to think of something better!"

This was only leading to further embarrassment, so Marzia finally decided it was time for her to stay quiet. And not a moment too soon, either, as Lex had wasted no time in rushing a clothesline straight for her. Letting out a yelp of surprise, Marzia had to think fast, getting her head into match mode, and trying to put the disaster that was that promo behind her. She threw herself to the ground, ducking under the blow just in time for Lex to pass over her and run towards the ropes behind her.

"Seems like you're adept at making excuses. Doesn't really surprise me, seeing as you proudly wrestle for this company." *His verbal jousting was, to his chagrin, not met with physical reciprocity as Mariza dodged his blitz. Having nowhere else to go, he bounced off the ropes and redirected his momentum towards her.*

"How about you stop running from your problems and finally face them head on?" *To add a little more emphasis to his inquiry, Lex decided to vault into her with a brutal headbutt aimed at the bridge of her nose.*

"Just watch me!" Marzia shouted back at Lex as he bounced off the ropes, turning around to face him down as he came running back for her. Lowering herself into a stance, and taking in a breath, she focused in her energy and concentrated, plotting her next move. She knew she had to get into things, but fortunately she had something in mind. As Lex was coming back for her, Marzia raised her arm, starting to get in position to elbow him...

Only it didn't work. Before Marzia could strike, Lex lunged forward and closed the distance between them with a lunge, his head crashing into the girl's face and sending her staggering back. Although Marzia stayed on her feet, the attack had dizzied her, and she had to stop to gain her bearings, raising one hand to her nose to try and stave off the pain. "Oww..." she groaned.

"Awww, what'sa matter? Can't handle how the big boys play? Then I suggest you get back in the kitchen!" *With a significant amount of momentum on his side, the energized Lex tucked in his arms and assumed a traditional boxing stance. While this wasn't an official, pugilistic bout he decided that it would be prudent for him to utilize what he knew best.*

*Taking a moment to silently observe the damage he had inflicted, he was quite ashamed of himself- he had hoped to have at least caused a slight trickle of blood, but it appeared as though Mariza was far more tenacious than he had given her credit for.* "Not bad, girly. But I think you could use a shade of black around your eyes." *He cackled, a sinister din echoing throughout the ring as he rolled from side to side before firing a right cross aimed at her left cheek.*

"Kitchen? Wait, what?" The insult was so cliche, Marzia wasn't even offended so much as confused. In all her life, she would never imagine she'd have ever heard someone seriously use that argument, but now was the time. Still, this was no time for pondering anyone's motives.

Marzia saw that Lex was getting into a stance, and perhaps to his surprise she would soon adopt a similar one. Although Marzia may have trained as a mat wrestler, she did have some boxing practice in her, and it looked like this was just the time for her to put it to good use. Lex was on her, and she was quick to adapt to his style, locking her eyes on him. As he darted from side to side, the Italian girl maintained her guard, following his motions back and forth. She knew that to let him out of her field of view, even for only a second, could be disastrous.

Soon, Lex closed in with a cross aimed at Marzia's face, but this time she was ready, throwing up her wrists to block the blow. Avoiding taking damage this way, Marzia took a short huff through her teeth. This was looking up for her, she thought - if she could just keep it up like she was doing now, she might be able to win this after all. And maybe, just maybe, that might make up for her abysmal performance on the mic.

But she wouldn't stop there. Analyzing her opponent's fighting style, Marzia could deduce that he was slipping into somewhat of a boxing stance, and thus, she could expect him to be focusing on punches. No doubt he'd be expecting the same from her after her response. But she would throw him for a loop, running in to try and close the distance - and if she got close enough, she would have a knee aimed to strike upwards into Lex's stomach.

*Allowing his prior insult to fade into oblivion, Lex continued his furious assault by heaving a hefty shot that began sailing into the befuddled girl's face. That is, until she managed to defy his wildest expectations and leave him standing wide open for a devastating counterattack.*

"Grrrh!" *Lex felt his body quiver in anguish from such an uncontested blow, nearly forcing him to collapse from within. Staggering backwards, he lurched against the ropes which acted as a makeshift canopy for his woefully unprepared body.*

"Nghh..d..decent..." *He mumbled through painful suspirations, his pearly white teeth masking the agony that lurked deep within his body. Still physically unable to compose himself, Lex opted for a more unconventional route, merely dangling from the ropes with his legs visibly at attention.*

As Lex went tumbling back towards the ropes and landed with his body draped across them, Marzia stood in bewildered silence, blinking a few times to process what she had seen. She didn't think her strike had been that good - either she didn't know her own strength, or Lex was a lot weaker than he looked. She didn't know if she should be flattered or not. Nevertheless, she still had her opponent in a vulnerable position, and she would capitalize on this moment.

Advancing towards the ropes, Marzia put on her best attempt at a game face, narrowing her brow as she shot a glare at Lex. "Well...there's more where that came from!" she said. Lifting him up from the ropes by the arm, she would then turn and send Lex towards the ropes at the other side of the ring in an Irish Whip. Turning back to face him, she would stand braced in a fighting stance, not taking her eyes off him. If he rebounded towards her, she'd be ready to strike with a Big Boot.
