The Irish 'Blades' Plays with the Amazoness

At L.A.W., a debut match was coming for a new inductee into the wrestling federation. It was to be a standard match, with the winner being decided via pin-down. Aside from the introduction of a new wrestler, it would seem that it would be another fun night of wrestling, while the fans watched and enjoyed the show. However, you never know what some of these wrestlers could get up; both before and after a match.

Jack Byrne, also known as Blades, was absent from L.A.W. for a while. While many could speculate as for the reasons for his absence, Blades was black and looking for some fun. He now wore a bluish-grey gi, and his spikey hair grew longer.

His first match was to be against a newcomer. This newcomer, as far as he was told, was a woman by the name of Baal. Aside from that, nothing else, not even a clue as to where she came from. Regardless, this made Blades all the more curious. So he decided to pay her a visit. To see if she would be fun to play with...among other reasons.

Blades arrived to the door to the changing room that Baal was using. And he knocked on the door.

Baal absently nibbled on a chunky chip between distracted slurps of soda as she watches cartoons. Lost in her own world, the repeated knocking on the door barely registered with her until a faint frown creased her brow.

Grumbling low in her throat, Baal tossed the nearly empty snack bag aside and set the tablet down with a thud. She padded over to the closed door, her movements heavy and sluggish from the sudden carb load. Pausing a moment, she gave a half-hearted sniff, trying to determine the scent of the visitor.

A tentative "Who is it?" echoed through the hollow door, her tone more puzzled than welcoming. Baal leaned an ear against the wood, listening intently, before straightening with a thoughtful hum.

Blades was waiting for a bit when he knocked. At first, he wasn't sure if anyone was there when he was waiting for about a minute. He quickly pressed his ear against the door and clearly heard noise from the other side. With that, he knocked on the door a few times, a bit louder than usual. Eventually, he would hear a woman's voice from the other side of the door, asking "Who is it?".

"Housekeeping!" Blades said with a smirk. He always did love to joke around, but he did say, "Well actually, I'm the one you'll be up against in the ring. I just figured I would meet my opponent and wish her luck in her first match." Jokes and a little bit of charisma would go a very long way for someone like Jack.

Now the question was, would Baal open the door for Blades?

The sudden announcement from the other side of the door made Baal pause, confusion etched across her rugged features. Housekeeping? What kind of housekeeping brings snacks?

Intrigued despite herself, Baal hesitated for a moment before calling out, "Housekeeping? Really?"

When Blades introduced himself as her upcoming opponent, followed by the charm laced request to wish him luck, Baal couldn't help but roll her eyes good-naturedly.

A snort of amusement escaped Baal at Blades' flippant demeanor, though she remained unconvinced by his apparent friendliness. After all, he was her opponent - not exactly the type she wanted to make friends with right before their match.

Still, curiosity piqued, Baal decided to play along briefly. Opening the door just wide enough to peek through, she gave Blades a skeptical look. "Wish you luck, huh? Yeah, sure thing."

She paused, studying him for a moment before leaning out further, resting her heavy frame against the doorframe. "Just remember, no hard feelings."

With that cryptic warning, Baal yanked the door shut once more, returning to her snacks and cartoons as if Blades hadn't bothered her at all.

Why bother? She's here for food and entertainment.

Blades waited for a short moment before the door opened, but only wide enough so that this Baal would be able to look at him. Despite the limited view, Blades could see just enough of Baal to make him impressed. She was a beautiful, yet clearly tough individual. Not to mention rather blunt too, as she gave him a skeptical look, as if to doubt the sincerity of wanting to wish her luck. This, followed by her saying "no hard feelings" before yanking the door shut, couldn't help but make Blades feel amused.

"I wouldn't ever take things personally," Jack said from the other side of the door, "Especially from a lovely woman like yourself." Considering her bluntness, he was doubtful that he was able to get any further with her before the match, but he still tried his luck.

"I heard you were a pretty tough cookie." Blades said, starting to appeal to her apparent tough side, "So far, it would seem that the rumours were true." Maybe if he could butter her up, she would open the door fully.

[MR. Q]

Baal scoffed loudly at Blades' persistent attempts to win her favor, her patience clearly worn thin. She gave a derisive snort, her rugged features twisting in irritation.

"Yeah, yeah." She drawled, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Real flattering, mister. But seriously, leave me alone!"

With a dramatic slam of the door, Baal shut out Blades entirely, retreating back to her junk food paradise. Crunching a chip loudly, she flipped through channels with a scowl, determined to tune out her unwanted visitor. No way was she falling for this guy's tricks! Mr.Q warned him of the dangers of civilization.

Bad civilization.

"Ugh, now I've got his obnoxious voice stuck in my head..." she grumbled to herself, before returning her attention to her snacks and shows, trying to forget Blades even existed.

This woman has a one track mind.

Blades heard the sarcasm, the insistence of being left alone, coupled with the sound of the door being slammed. Oh yeah, he was getting to her. That was one way of getting under her skin. He left a little bit of something for her to remember him by before the match would begin.

"Well, if you insist." Jack said in a calm manner before he turned and prepared to walk away, "Be seeing you on the ring, gorgeous." He was prepared to move on and get ready for the match, but he waited briefly to see if that elicited a reaction.

[MR. Q]

Baal ignored the faint echo of his parting words, focusing instead on shoveling another handful of chips into her mouth.

As satisfying crunches filled the small room, she let out a contented hum, closing her eyes to savor the salty, greasy goodness. Cartoon characters flickered across her field of vision, their cheerful voices providing a pleasant background hum.

With a blissful sigh, Baal settled back onto the bench, crossing her legs and wrapping an arm around her ample middle. She was in her element now, indulging in comfort food and carefree entertainment. The worries of the outside world, including that annoying Blades character, melted away.

Time to refuel and recharge before the match. After all, she needed to stay at the top of her game - especially against such persistent challengers. Baal cracked open another bag of chips, her smile growing as she dug in.

This was the life.

Blades didn't feel bothered that there was no reaction. After all, there was more than one way to skin a cat. In this case, more than one way to get a woman where you wanted them. But for now, all that was needed for the time being, was to get ready for the match. As such, Blades went on his way back to his room to warm-up, stretch for a bit and then get ready for the match.

Thirty Minutes Later...

The arena of L.A.W. came to life with the sounds of echoes and cheers. They watched some thrilling matches and were ready for the next bout to occur. Between Blades and Baal.

"Ladies and Gentleman! We got the return of a rather curious individual. He's been gone for a while, but has he gone dull in his absence? If his new look is more than just smoke and mirrors, then he's still as sharp as ever. Please welcome, Blades!"

Blades, who was waiting in the wing to be called down to the ring, walked down the aisle with an air of masculine confidence. As he waved at the crowd, he winked at a few women in the process. Another flirtatious tactic?

Soon, he got into the ring, waved to the crowd and casually leaned against the ropes to wait for Baal to come out.

[MR. Q]

Emerging from the dressing room area a short while later, Baal slowly descended the steps to the ring, her massive figure filling out the outfit in a most pleasing way. A few curious whispers echoed from the crowd at her unusual appearance - built like an Amazoness yet exotically beautiful.

Noticing Blades waiting in the ring, Baal raised an eyebrow at the sight of him. His longer spiky hair and newer gi didn't change her opinion of him much; she still found him rather annoying.

Weird guy.

With a grunt, Baal hoisted herself up onto the apron and swung her leg over the ropes, dropping gracelessly into the ring. Dusting off her palms, she stood before Blades, crossing her arms over her broad chest.

"Weird guy," Baal said dryly, eyeing him up and down. "Let's get this over with, huh?"

Despite her harsh words, there was no malice behind them - just pure nonchalance. Baal cracked her knuckles, readying herself for battle.

She still has her snacks and show waiting for her.
