Clara Gaster vs Izuku Midoriya - Heroic Shadow

With Clara back in Japan, she wanted to experience the most amount of things she could in LAW. If something were to happen again, whether discouragement, injury or otherwise, she wants this period of her career to be the most memorable...

...and considering how long it's been since she had her last match against a guy, she seemed to be on the right track. To be clearer...she didn't actually have any intergender matches, if one wasn't to count spars against trainees at wrestling school.

Clara didn't mind Intergender contests...they just fell out of her lap after becoming GASTER. With little confidence in fighting women as is, she was slightly fearful fighting against men. But now, after a good hiatus, and being more confident in her wrestling ability, it was time to try this out.

And LAW wouldn't be sadistic in her going for this contest either. They have picked a very fair opponent - young technical highflyer Izuku "Deku" Midoriya. With that, Clara had little fear for the match, confident in herself that she could win against the relatively fresh LAW wrestler.

As her music hit the arena, and as she herself entered on the ramp, the crowd's energy was immense. They didn't die out from her debut, even if her last few matches didn't go her way. She walked to the ring with a wide smile, clapping hands with the LAW fans in the front row, before sliding into the ring, confidently pumping her fist into the air as her music quiet down.

She headed towards the lower left corner from the entrance ramp, to the left of hard camera, typically a spot reserved for more heelish wrestlers. This was definitely done more as a joke. She read up that Izuku had a heroic gimmick to him, and had they faced before her hiatus, it is possible this match would've had a very different tone...

As it was, she awaited Izuku's arrival, her eyes locked on the entrance ramp...

Deku took a deep breath as he stood backstage, preparing himself mentally for his next match. It wouldn’t be easy, not at all, and he wouldn’t lie when he said he was a tad nervous about his opponet. Or nervous wasn’t the best word, nor intimidated, starstruck? That was closer. Deku being somewhat of a pro wrestling nerd in addition to just being a wrestler, of course knew who his opponet was tonight, as well as her sister. Despite being only a year younger than GASTER he was well aquainted with her career so far, and he admittedly loved her gimmick, despite it being contradictory to his own. Needless to say he never thought he’d have a match against either, especially when GASTER went on hiatus.

But now here he was, about to go out to face the shadow lord in just a few moment. His nerves were eating at him, screaming for him to do well in this match, not just for his sake but his opponet’s as well. After all this was her second match back and he was sure it would mean a lot for her to do well. Although.. he was gonna do his best to win, even if he was sure GASTER wanted the same. Slapping the sides of his cheeks he blunced from foot to foot preparing himself. Dressed in his usual green wrestling pants, red shoes and tank top, he slapped his cheeks as his music started.

Coming out to the usual fanfare he smiled, or did best to at least at the crowd with his fist raised up in the air. Breaking out into a run he held his hand out, highfiving the fans on his way down to the ring. Leaping up he landed on the ring apron and vaulted over the top rope, throwing his arm in the air again for the crowd as they cheered in response. Thankfully since his debut he had grown much more comfortable when he made entrances, coming far from the stuttering mess he was.

Finally he would look over across the ring to his opponet, GASTER. Looking into her eyes he gave a nod to her as a show of respect before putting his fists up. Physically speaking they weren’t far off from one another, with him only being a few inches taller, and likely not outweighing her by much. On top of that their styles were remarkably similar, so it was no wonder that LAW had set them up to go against one another. Stepping closer towards his corner he stared GASTER down as he mentally prepared himself for the bout ahead.

Deku would come out to his theme onto the entrance ramp, and was incredibly friendly and positive with people in the crowd as he came down to the ring. In fact, he looked quite cute as well, Clara thought...before shaking those thoughts off.

Once he entered the ring, he gave her a nod in respect before taking a serious look on his face, and getting into position. She returned the nod with a warm smile, before getting just as serious.

With the ref seeing both wrestlers being ready, she signaled for the bell

DING DING DING

Clara would carefully come out of the corner. If Izuku didn't wildly explode out of the ring, or attack her with a strike, she would meet him in the middle of the ring to start things off with a regular collar and elbow tie up!

Deku sighed to himself and bounced on his feet in preperation. He hadn’t ever expected to fight Gaster, or he guessed Clara now that he thought of it since her mask wasn’t on. But maybe she’d still like to be called Gaster cause it was whart she was used too? ‘Questions for later’ He thought to himself as he refocused his gase on Gas-er Clara he decided for now.

Soon after he bell woild ring officially starting the match prompting him to move from the corner with his hands up. Clara Gaster was a tough opponet, nothing can be said contrary. Her technique was extremely solid and he’d likely be in a lot of trouble if he let her take him down to the match. Vice versa though if he took control early on he may be able to keep momentum from getting in his opponet’s favor which would be exactly what he needed to win.

What he didn’t know was if she had retrained herself prior to coming back. It wasn’t a uncommon practice amongst returning wrestlers to reinvent themselves somewhat. So this early grapple was a good way to feel her out and make a strategy on how he can take her. It also helped he had a inherent advantage in with his height and more muscle. So as he locked up with her he attempted to exert both his height and weight to try and force her back for a early lead.

With the lock up, the match would officially begin. She felt slight nervousness from Deku from facing her. Was he possibly starstruck? 2-3 years ago, he would've likely been in good age range to be her fan...

Clara shook away those thoughts, as Deku put his strength against her's. Despite being almost the similar size, Clara's strength would slowly give way to Deku's, taking first a step back, then another, as he simply proved to be stronger than her.

With that clear, it was time to turn to her main strength - actual wrestling ability.

She would relax her grip for just a second, her back almost to the turnbuckle behind her...

...and suddenly she would force her strength to her right, breaking the grip of the lock up, and instead shifting behind Deku, trapping him with a waistlock!

From there, Clara would attempt to trip her rival, pressing her leg against his to take it from under him, trying to seize the early momentum of the contest!

The lock up and match had begun. Deku’s strength was pitted against Clara as they pushed against one another in a tight grapple. Slowly but surely he started to push his opponet back, gaining step after step in ground till he nearly had her at the ropes. ‘Ok good once I get her to the ropes I can-‘ Deku’s internal planning stopped as soon as he felt the grip loosen slightly from Clara. Immediately alarm bells went off in his head and he knew that this would be bad.

Sure enough he felt more pressure from the right hand side before the smaller girl disappeared from his sight and he felt her behind him! Looking down he saw her hands locked around him and knew she had him in a waist lock, and considering Clara’s technical skill... ‘a trip!’ He realized as he felt Clara’s leg push against his own, in response he planted his feet, and spread his leg a bit to try and keep his balance.

Knowing that being taken to the mat by Clara would be an absolute worst case scenario he thought quickly and twisted himself as far back behind as he could. Than he would raise up the leg that Clara had tried to trip up and pivot on his other to try and turn himself in her grip to face her. If successful he would try to throw his arms up around her jead and pull her down a bit into a side headlock.

Surprising to Clara, Deku held firm on his feet, widening them further to make sure he had a low center of gravity, and as such - harder to trip away.

Clara grunted in displeasure, try to shift her strategy and grab at Deku's arm to trap it in a hammer lock...but all she did was allow him an easy escape from the waistlock, his arms quickly getting around her head as he trapped her in side headlock!

"Mggggh...", she grunted at her head being squeezed as it was, trying to wiggle it out of the hold to little success, Izuku maintaining a firm control on the hold!

Deku gulped soflty as he moved about, carefully maneuvering his feet to avoid being tripped or grabbed. Thankfully he had manged to successfuly pivot around Gaster and throw his arms over her head, pulling her down for a headlock.

Sighing softly just from this he knew he couldn’t relx just yet. After all this may be a turning point, but it worked both ways, what he decided to do from here would be pivotal. So he decided to go for something big. Gaster was tough, but small and her endurance was always something that can be called a weakness. Even if she had worked to kmprove it, that was Deku’s best avenue of attack.

Shifting Gaster around so her chest faced his while his arm continued to hold her head level to his chest, he would reach down to try and grab her leg. If he was succesful Deku would take a quick breath before going to lift her up and throw himself back, intending to hit Gaster with a fisherman’s suplex!

Clara would try to get her hands around Izuku, to possibly lift him into the air and slam him into the ground with a quick Backdrop to get the headlock off...

But Deku kept his distance. He made sure his legs were far enough from her to trip him, and that his body escaped any attempts to grab him, grumbling in slight annoyance at her predicament as well as at her head being squeezed.

Soon enough, however, Deku would successfully transition the hold into a facelock and grab at her leg, the Brit getting a bad feeling about this. Fearful that a powerful attack was about to follow, Clara decided to do away with holds, and slam her fist into Deku's stomach!

‘So far so good.’ Deku thought to himself anxiously as he managed to secure Gaster in a headlock, holding her under his arm for a slight advantage. He knew that this would be a intense match from the get go, and that was only assuming he was on top of his game for one hundred percent of the time. If he slipped up even once he knew Gaster was the type to not let him recover from it.

So having her in this advantageous position, he knew that now was the time to try for something big, so he’d reach down to grab her leg in preperation for a fisherman suplex. He knew if he could land a big hit on Clara early on it would go a long way in the rest of the match. So he lifted up!

”Oof!” That was the plan at least, however a punch to the gut was more than enough to put that thought on hold. Gasping as the air was driven from him he dropped her leg and, while the headlock was still on it had loosened significantly around Gaster’s head.
