Erika 'LeDestroyer' LaVoy vs. Aizen Yuzuriha - One More Chance

Using the feint kick like this was unorthodox - typically, the move was down to an opponent who was leaning over the middle rope and stunned, not one who had their back to it. But as Aizen continued the match and it progressed past its earliest stages, he came to understand more and more that this was the key: Erika was not an opponent who would respond well to conventional attacks.

He would need to be creative, and as she staggered forward and fell to her hands and knees, he saw another opportunity to do just that.

Aizen came out of the spin onto the apron, balancing himself on the ring's edge as his opponent knelt, her back to him. Seizing the moment, he gripped the top rope, pulled his way up, then planted his feet on it, where he stood, precariously bounced for an instant.

Using it as a springboard, Aizen launched himself high above his foe’s body, extended his arm, and attempted to come down on Erika with an Elbow Drop, one he would drive straight between her shoulders.

Okay, admittedly Aizen had gotten her good back there. The fact that her back was throbbing with pain was proof enough of that.

But it was also a matter of simple fact that it took a lot to keep LaDestroyer down. With a slow hiss of pain, she pushed off the mat, and noted the crowd suddenly cheering in excitement. Aw, it was nice to know they cared...

Wait a minute--

Pain suddenly exploded in Erika's back as it was impacted by Aizen's elbow! With a cry of both surprise and pain, Erika went down onto her front, groaning as she was brought down a second time by her more agile foe!

Aizen found his target and dropped onto Erika with deadly precision, mercilessly drilling her into the canvas with the aerial attack. While he didn’t favor the high-risk moves, he was okay with taking them when other options were simply not available, and this was a perfect example of such a time. He needed something quick, something painful, and the Elbow Drop fit that bill.

Now, to capitalize.

He didn’t have much faith in a pinfall working this early on, but he knew he had to at least try - stranger things had happened when an opponent was stunned, and chances lik this would be few and far between. With a heavy grunt, Aizen flipped Erika over to her back, threw himself over her chest, hooked the leg and went for a pin.

The referee was quick to oblige and slid over to start the count. ”!...!”

And then Erika kicked out.

One moment she had been flat on her back, seemingly out of it. The next, the Canadian giantess, opened one eye and twisted her body, ostensibly just to get a shoulder up, but practically, with enough force to throw Aizen off of her. The crowd roared, in a mixture of excitement and disbelief, as all of Aizen's efforts only yielded a count of one.

"Ahh...fucking A..." Erika groaned as she sat up, rubbing her sore back. "Gotta hand it to you, you brought your A game today, Aizen."

A one-count.

Yes, that was slightly disappointing. He hadn't thought the match would be one with that, or that he’d even get 2.5. But he’d figured a solid two was well with his grasp after hitting her with a good bit of artillery, back to back to back.

But no. Just a one-count.

…this might take awhile. In for a penny…

At least he had a target to start working on, at least - her back. A good place to target for someone with a fighting style that relied on heavy lifting. He needed to invest on that back, focus there, and it would pay dividends later on in the match. Even the greatest axe can’t take down a tree in one swing.

Unfettered, Aizen popped up to his feet and swung around to Erika’s side as she sat up. He took a step back, then moved in, swung his leg low, and sliced into the small of her back with a soccer kick, with another one following it a half-beat later.

Erika was huffing for breath as she managed to kick out. Around her, the fans were impressed at her quick recovery, and she heard the cheers as she rolled over on her hands and knees, one hand clutching her sore back...

...only for Aizen's boot to hammer into it with a kick from above, rocking Erika's body slightly. An irritated grunt escaped her lips, before Aizen hammered her with a second kick in the same area.

She did not fall. Quite the contrary, she continued to rise, glaring at Aizen as she stood to her full height.

"So you wanna do kicks, huh?" she quipped, before lashing out, trying to hammer a kick of her own into Aizen's abs...

Aizen was starting to sense a pattern, here, and his kicks sadly confirmed it. The pattern was simple - he would hit Erika with some of his best moves, and she would, in turn keep coming at him, harder and stronger than before.

It was an alarming trend, and the reality of it sunk in as his kicks - kicks that had made grown men cry out from the pain. Erika just ate the move and stood up, like she’d just taken a mosquito bite.

The sheer shock of the moment took Aizen by surprise, so much so that he barely had time to raise his arms up in defense as a kick came below. It hardly mattered, either way. Her foot shot through his hastily constructed wall and hit with enough force to lift him clear off the canvas.

When he came down, he was gasping and wheezing, holding his stomach as he fell to his knee. That kick - that simple kick - felt like it nearly went through him, one of the hardest shots he could recall enduring.

The crowd collectively winced as the sheer force of Erika's kick nearly launched Aizen off his feet; as it was, the poor guy was left doubled over, dropping to his knees, gagging and wheezing. In front of him, Erika was still holding her back, visibly wincing from where Aizen had struck her repeatedly; it seems that Aizen's attacks had hurt her a lot than the audience had first thought. Unfortunately, it hadn't been enough to keep her down.

"You breathing okay there, buddy?" Erika asked, breathing unsteadily herself as she grabbed a hold of Aizen's arm. "Sorry, I just figured that you could probably take it, you know?" She was still quipping conversationally with Aizen even as she turned and whipped him by the arm towards the ropes.

And then, as Aizen came bouncing back, Erika would be running to meet him, arm-raised, aiming to nail him with a world-shaking clothesline...

Aizen noticed, with some small satisfaction, that Erika was holding her back, still aching from his kicks. While that was, in fact, a good thing to see, it served as small comfort. An advantage was only meaningful if he could do something about it, and right now his innards were too busy rearranging for that to happen.

He was in the process of pushing his way back up when Erika came along and ‘helped’, gripping him by the arm and pulling him up. As soon as he was on his feet, she sent him off running to the ropes, forcing him forward with a good deal of momentum.

He hit them, came bouncing off, and rushed towards Erika where her arm was waiting to decapitate him. Desperation served as good fuel, here, though - he ducked under the blow, grabbed her arm, and used it to swing around her back. Aizen came around to her other side and used the momentum to grip her head in a front facelock, hoping to bring her skull crashing to the canvas with a Floatover DDT.

Erika's arm whipped out...and swiped empty air.

Alarmed, Erika was forced to adjust her balance mid-run, stumbling as she careened into the ropes. Bouncing back, she came thundering right towards Aizen, who lashed out with an arm..Erika felt her head being snagged under Aizen's arm, and him shifting his weight back...

She reacted instinctively, wrapping her arms around the man's torso to arrest his DDT. "Nice try," she'd mutter, before arching backwards, aiming to almost casually toss Aizen over her shoulder to crash hard on his back!
