I'm Just Saiyan: "The Progidy" Gohan (D) vs. "The Lion of Valencia" Arturo Hernandez

Arturo knew he hadn’t done enough damage to pin Gohan. But forcing him to kick out would cause him to waste energy early in the match. Like when he would fight bulls, tiring them out was key.

So when Gohan got his shoulder up and turned to his side, Arturo quickly reacted to keep the pressure on Gohan. He wrapped his arm around Gohan’s neck and pulled him up into a seated position. Arturo pressed against his back and attempted to clasp his hands together to lock in a rear chinlock.

As Gohan laid on his side, he felt Arturo's arm wrapped around his neck. The Spaniard's physique was impressive, Gohan gives him that. The few breaths he was able to catch were gone in an instant as Arturo forces Gohan in a seated position, almost choking him. He can feel Arturo against his back and his grasp around his neck get tighter as Arturo locks in the rear chinlock.

Gohan knew that he can't stay in this hold for too long or else he'll waste too much energy. Gohan wastes no time reaching for the ropes. He knew that if he wanted to get out of this, he's gonna need to force his way out.

As Gohan pulls on Arturo's well-defined arm with both hands, attempting to loosen up the hold, he simultaneously plants both of his feet firmly on the ground and attempts to stand up. If successful, Gohan would push Arturo backwards toward the ropes and use the rebound momentum to whip his opponent across the ring and escape the hold.

Arturo knew Gohan was strong just by looking at him. And as predicted, Gohan began to fight out from under the hold. He forced himself to his feet and Arturo with him. Arturo then found himself pressed back against the ropes before Gohan whipped him to the opposite ropes. Arturo instinctively went with the flow and rebounded, coming back towards his opponent. He guessed Gohan would go for a clothesline or shoulder check, so Arturo lowered himself on approach. At the last second the Spaniard charged at Gohan’s stomach like a missile with a spear.

Gohan managed to get himself and Arturo up from the seated position. Gohan then repositioned his hands around Arturo's waist and pushed backed towards the ropes. He used the momentum from the rebound to propel the Spaniard forward, freeing himself from the hold.

"This is my chance," Gohan thought. Gohan took a moment to catch his breath. Then, after seeing his opponent rebound from the rope, he charged at his opponent with an open arm, ready to deliver a devastating clothesline and hopefully take control of the match.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. His opponent has predicted his next move, and ducked low and charge straight for his abdomen.

"SSSPPPPEEEAAARRRR!!," he heard the announcer screamed as he and his hopes of taking control were taken down to the mat. Gohan was stopped dead in his tracks. Arturo's shoulder felt very much like a boulder as it collided with his stomach. His core was rocked, his arms went limp and he was left coughing and trying to gasp for more air as his body naturally went into the fetal position, trying to protect his assaulted abdomen.

Arturo did not let up on Gohan. He resolved to get Gohan back for taunting (but not let up on him either). Arturo pulled Gohan to a seated position and pounded his chest with a series of hammerfist blows to stun him. He then grabbed Gohan’s belt, yanked it off of his gi, and began choking him with it like a garrote. ”I think I’m satisfied with your answer to my question,” he whispered into his ear. Arturo held the belt-assisted choke until the ref got to the count of four and let go to avoid a disqualification. He then proceeded to raise his arms and taunt the booing crowd.

As Gohan laid there, out of breath, he once again felt a choking sensation as Arturo firmly wrapped his hands around Gohan's neck to drag him to a seated position. Gohan can barely keep himself from slumping forward, but Arturo was not through with his attacks just yet. Gohan felt his neck yanked backwards, his arms limped at his sides, and his chest vulnerable to Arturo's attacks.

Gohan is staring at Arturo's determined face when, BBBAAMMM, Arturo's fist came crashing onto Gohan's chest. Gohan coughed and as his head move forward instinctively, it was aggresively yanked back again by Arturo. Gohan's arms still limped at his side, unable to provide some cover to the oncoming onslaught.

After a few hits, Arturo reached for his belt, and used it to choke him. Gohan still stunned from the hits to his chest couldn't even begin to think of how to get out of there and was forced to wait for Arturo to break the hold before being disqualified. After being released, Gohan doubled over to his hands and knees, coughing. He looked up to see Arturo playing to the crowd.

"It's now or never," he thought. He clutched his hands into fists, took a deep breath, and forced himself up. He ran towards Arturo, who still had his attention towards the crowd, grabbed him by the waist and tossed him as hard as he could over his head for a German Suplex.

Gohan, finally able to catch his breath, picked up his belt and put it back on. He wiped the sweat across his face as he walks over to his downed opponent. "My turn!" he said scowling.

Arturo's showboating would end up costing him. He thought Gohan was well and truly incapacitated, but the rookie had a lot of heart and a strong will. Gohan recovered fast than Arturo expected and rose up. Arturo suddenly felt Gohan's powerful arms wrap around him and pull him into the Saiyan's chest. Gohan flung Arturo backwards with a German suplex. The Spaniard bounced upon impact and then landed again on his back, arching in pain. His heart sank when he heard Gohan say that it was his turn.

Gohan walked over to his downed opponent and used both of his hands to grasp Arturo's cheeks to pick him up and turn him around to a kneeling position. From there, he stuck Arturo's head in between his thighs, preparing him for an Elevated Powerbomb.

However, before doing so, Gohan wrapped his arms around the Spaniard's waist and his well-defined abs to prop him up higher. By doing so, Gohan is in the perfect position to send a barrage of fists straight to Arturo's muscular back. Each time Arturo would fall lower from a hit, Gohan forced him back to the original position. After four hits to the back, Gohan bent his knees and swiftly hoisted the softened Arturo onto his shoulders. Before forcing the Spaniard down, however, Gohan grabbed onto Arturo's tights to lift him even higher. When Arturo is at the highest Gohan can get him, Gohan took a step forward and with as much force as he can muster, Gohan slammed Arturo down on the mat.

Upon hitting the mat, Gohan saw Arturo bounce back up to a seated position and he took the opportunity to deliver a devastating right hook square at the Spaniard's jaw. Once Gohan's fist became acquianted with Arturo's face, Gohan did not waste time, he laid across Arturo's chest to put as much weight as he can on him and hook his left leg. The crowd cheered loudly as the referee began the count.

Arturo felt the pain of four clubbing hammerfist blows to his back as Gohan got him into position. By the fourth, Arturo was well and truly incapable of resisting the powerbomb. He found himself hoisted in the air by his tights for a powerbomb. While Arturo wasn’t normally afraid of heights, being lifted this high by Gohan was scary enough. He didn’t have time to react, though, before Gohan brought Aurturo back down onto the ground with a thunderous powerbomb! The impact was so great that Arturo, while knocked senseless, recoiled to a seated position. Gohan anticipated this and delivered a savage right hook. Arturo was practically knocked for a loop. Gohan laid on top of Arturo for the chest-to-chest pin. The ref began to count.

ONE!
TWO!
THR-NOOOOOOOOO!

The ref stopped counting when he saw Arturo with his foot on the bottom rope. The Spaniard’s uncanny environmental awareness saving him to keep fighting.

As Gohan laid on top of Arturo, he neither felt nor saw any signs of resistance from his opponent. All Gohan can feel is the Spaniard's chest rising and falling against his own. The thought that he might've won started to creep in when he heard the two count. A smile started to show on his face when Arturo had not kicked out. "Did I...? Did I wi--," Gohan's thoughts were interrupted when he felt the referee tug on his arm urging him to break the pin. Gohan looked to the direction of the referee only to see him pointing at Arturo's feet hanging on the bottom rope.

Gohan got off of Arturo's chest and stayed seated next to his down opponent. He couldn't help but smile not only at Arturo's impressive ring awareness and his tenacity, but also at the fact that he pulled that move off after the beating he was taking beforehand. Gohan knew he couldn't afford to let up again. He tested the waters with Arturo once and that was more than enough. He knows how formidable his opponent is and he knows that it would be in his best interest to not give him time to recover.

Or at least that's what Gohan wanted... However, he was in no shape for another big move. Not just yet. He needed to catch his breath, but also keep the pressure on Arturo so he thought applying a submission hold should give him just that.

Gohan got up and stood above Arturo's head. He grabbed the former matador by his armpits and propped him up to a seated position. Gohan grabbed a fist-full of Arturo's hair to keep him from falling over, then he carefully positioned his legs over Arturo's shoulders. Guiding Arturo's body, Gohan laid on the mat with Arturo's head in between his legs. He released his hold of Arturo's hair and he brought his right leg up and underneath his left leg to apply a headscissor submission to Arturo!

It didn't matter if Arturo tapped or not, this is exactly what Gohan needed. He can catch his breath while his opponent is being weakened by his built calves and thighs.
