To The Bitter End: Kyo Akamatsu vs Mary Clarison

Unread post by Underdoggo »

Match Type: Standard prostyle
Victory conditions: Verbal submission or tapout only. The wrestler who wins two out of three falls wins the match.

The crowd was excited as the arena was cleared for yet another match tonight. This one was going to be a best of three intergender submission match, which meant that no matter what happened it was going to be a tense, hard fought affair. And given that the pairing for this match had already been announced, the crowd expected it to be a hard fought match indeed, as neither competitor was likely to give up easily.

The first of the fighters arrived to the sound of "Kanjite Knight" from the Mazinger Z soundtrack blaring on the intercom. To the cheers of the crowd, Kyo Akamatsu came striding into the ring. The Scion of the Ring had already been in a few impressive matches during his time here in LAW, especially with intense bouts against the likes of Wisteria Khan, Janella Johnson and Valley Doll under his belt. The crowd had come to admire his straightforward, no-nonsense attitude to wrestling and his honourable personality, so it was no surprise that he got quite a few cheers as he entered.

Kyo simply nodded appreciatively to the cheers of the fans as he slid under the ring and hopped to his feet. Moving to the edge of the ring, Kyo rotated his shoulders, doing a few stretches. He knew of his opponent tonight by reputation: Mary "the Quiet Beast" Clarison was a a major star in LAW, up there with the likes of Alizeh Midori, and had earned a reputation as frighteningly skilled submissionist. No doubt he would get a chance to see her skills first hand before long...

For Mary, she really had not wrestled too many men in her life, heck earlier in her career, the thought of wrestling a dude terrified her, mainly because she thought of them as so much stronger and would beat her up endlessly. But now with a ton of LAW matches under her belt, she was ready to step up against her opponent Kyo.

Mary decided to do some stretching early on, before some deep breaths. She had to calm down her nerves before the match, or else her mind would go into a fritz. She wanted to win this, and prove why she was one of the top submission users in LAW.

Soon enough, the LAW official would knock on the door, letting her know that her opponent was already in the ring and that her entrance was starting. Mary took a deep breath before nodding, letting the official know that the quiet beast was ready. She would then head out.

The arena became covered in blue spotlights as Mary came out onto the stage, her theme blasting through the speakers. It was time to show LAW once again what she was made of. She took a deep breath, before walking down the ramp, slapping hands with a few fans and then making her way towards the steel steps. Taking another deep breath, she walked up the steel steps and then went underneath the middle rope into the ring. And then she headed to her corner.

Her opponent was definitely bigger than her, but he didn’t seem mean or aggressive, so Mary went to the center to hold her hand out for a handshake. “Hello, I’m Mary, and I will be your opponent today.” Mary said, a lot more confident then the stuttering mess she had been earlier in her career.

Kyo raised an eyebrow as Mary Clarison made her entrance. The Quiet Beast was not what he had expected: she was a lot lighter than him, true, but the bigger surprise was her attitude. While she did not seem timid by any means, she also did not have the confident swagger that he'd seen in a lot of other wrestlers. If anything, she seemed unused to fame and to fandom: if this was true then that at least was something the two of them had in common. This, combined her her somewhat modest ring outfit made Kyo understand more why she was called "the Quiet Beast."

As Mary made her way into the ring, the English bluenette was nothing but courtesy, extending a hand and a polite greeting to Kyo. He smiled warmly and accepted her handshake. "A pleasure, Ms. Clarison, I've heard quite a lot about you," he replied. "I'm honoured to be your opponent today. Hopefully we'll have a good match."

He was fully aware that this was a submissions only match, and that within a few moments the two of them would be inflicting painful hold after painful hold on one another in an effort break one another and force a tapout, but that didn't mean the two of them couldn't show one another common courtesy beforehand. As he broke the handshake, he backed away, waiting for the bell.

Mary let out a slight smile, as Kyo agreed and gave her a handshake before their match. Mary nodded, before breaking it off and backing up to her corner, the only thing to do was to wait till the match was about to begin.

Before the bell rang, Mary was going to do a few light leg and arm stretches, to make sure her body was fully ready for the upcoming match, cause this was not going to be easy.

Winning this was going to be hard, but she was going to do it.

As Mary returned to her corner, Kyo did the same and returned to his. The air became tense as the two of them waited for the bell to ring. As Kyo warily watched Mary, she proceeded to do a few light stretches. Kyo noted, firstly, that Mary's slender build and graceful movements suggested that she might be proficient in leg and joint locks...and second, that she was damn cute. He blushed a little, and did his best to ignore this fact as he did some quick stretches of his own, giving the audience a better view of his fit upper body.

Then the bell rang; in an instant, Kyo was moving, watching Mary carefully as he moved to the center of the ring and motioned for a lockup. "Shall we?" he asked with a smile.

The bell rang, and Mary decided to head to the center of the ring, sizing herself up with the larger Kyo, this was going to be a challenge, but it was a challenge she knew she could win, she knew she could overcome anything, she just had to believe in herself.

Mary engaged with the lockup, her palms grasping with Kyo’s hand as the engaged in grappling. Mary wanted to gain a quick advantage against Kyo.

So she quickly attempted to pull Kyo towards her, and then attempt to quickly grab his head and put the man in a side headlock.

Just as Kyo had hoped, Mary accepted the lockup, not being deterred at all by the size difference between the two of them. The two of them met in the center of the ring in a classic collar and elbow tie up, pushing and twisting against one another. Before Kyo could try to force Mary back, however, the bluenette managed to snag his head, squeezing him tightly against her side in a headlock. He gasped a little, his face compressed tightly against the side of her chest.

"Not bad," he breathed before grabbing Mary's wrist in both hands and twisting. If he managed to wrench his head free, then he would spin around behind Mary and twist her arm behind her back, moving into a classic chickenwing hammerlock counter.

Mary managed to get the much larger Kyo into the side headlock, a good start to the match for what it’s worth, now she knew she had to keep the advantage of having the hold locked in.

Mary then felt her wrist being grabbed as her arm was twisted, and then she was put in a chickenwing hammerlock. “UGH!” She blurted, seeing her initial plan go up in smoke.

Luckily for Mary, she knew her way around a ring, and seeing where Kyo was, decided to start walking backwards, attempting to push Kyo into the corner and force him to let go.

The crowd was tense as the two wrestlers began the match with some classic chain wrestling. Mary managed to snag Kyo in a side headlock. Kyo countered with a textbook reversal into a chickenwing hammerlock. Many in the audience expected Mary to follow up by grabbing the back of Kyo's head and flipping him over her shoulder-- Kyo included.

All, including Kyo, were surprised when Mary instead backpedaled furiously. The next thing Kyo knew, he was crashing back-first into the turnbuckle. "Ungh! he grunted, the impact causing him to release his grip on Mary's arm, allowing the bluenette to go free.
