Kiwi Strikes Gold: Blair. vs. Finlay Zeffer

Finlay stretched silently backstage in preparation for his next match. Unlike before it was not a mixed match, but a match against another man. Something that surprised him, but not completely given the recent surge in popularity men have been getting in LAW. Something that was perfectly fine with Finlay though since it created more opportunities to show what he could do. Taking a deep breath Finlay would finish tying his boots before standing up fully and taking a look in the mirror to make sure his attire looked alright before taking out his phone.

Looking at it he would smile softly seeing his girlfriend Mara wishing him luck on his match, knowing it was a bit of a milestone to be doing a male vs male match on LAW, even if it wasn't the first it was still rare albeit on the way to becoming more common place. Either way he appreciated it immensely and took the time to respond back. After all his opponent Blair was set to make his entrance first so Finlay had some time, and clearing his head by talking with his girlfriend a bit was definitely something he didn't mind doing while waiting.

Finlay took a deep breath in preparation as he got up and approached the guerilla position from the locker room. Not having the chance to see his opponent's entrance Finlay would wait patiently as it wrapped up before finally it was time for his own music to kick on.

As the drums and beat set in Finlay would step out, raising an arm up in the air as the fans cheered him on before making his way down the ring. While doing so he noticed his opponent for the first time... and was a bit surprised. That was a He, at least Finlay was pretty sure of it. But it was pretty hard to tell.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts Finlay would just shrug his shoulders while entering the ring . Didn't matter, all that mattered was that Finlay won. Approaching the center of the ring the blonde would hold out a hand to Blair in a show of respect. "Not what I was expecting, but here's to a good match." Finlay said with the intent of respect as he waited to see if his opponent would accept the hand shake.

Finlay was still a bit surprised at the appearance of his opponent, not fully knowing how to proceed, or even how he felt about Blair out of the gate. But if nothing else he was at least willing to shake hands with Finlay leading to a positive start for the most part. Still at Blair's teasing response Finlay couldn't help but shake his head, after all he wasn't about to try and insult someone for their physical height or build, it wasn't something he stood for.

"No nothing like that, I just wasn't expecting someone so... cute." he said before immediately shutting up and blushing slightly, that.. wasn't exactly the right word, but it was too late now and he would just make use of the fact that they were backing up to their corner to do just that and hopefully ignore any fall out from Blair, and whether or not his opponent would find that insulting or complimentary.

FInlay couldn't believe he actually called Blair cute. It wasn't exactly intentional, just a slip of the tongue but it was too late to take back, and the best he could do now was just move in spite of it. Thankfully the match was officially starting giving him just the thing to focus on. Putting his fists up as he pushed off from the corner and began to circle Blair who kept a low center of gravity making him narrow his eyes in preparation. "Yeah, that wasn't intended.." He said blushing once more, before finally darting forward, reaching out to try and grab at Blair's arms and pull him around twist his arm up to go for a hammerlock!

Starting the match off and trying to ignore the accidental slip of words he had let out Finlay went right into grapple mode, getting behind the woman and pulling his arm back for a hammerlock! As he wrenched up on Blair's arm he would the smaller male resisting and getting to his feet making the New Zealander grunt as he realized that sooner than later he needed to make a change. "Ngh.. won't be that easy!" Finlay said softly as he stepped to the side a bit and wrapping his arm around Blair's neck in addition to the hammerlock before throwing himself back to try and slam Blair with a half and half suplex!
