Personality: Refined but sadistic Maria has a huge ego that overshadows her tiny body. She sees very few as her equals, but those she does, she respects, like her good friend Dhalia DuBlanc, are give equal status. Otherwise, she loves breaking the bones and limbs of those she sees are beneath her and hates it when rules get in the way. Her aristocratic upbringing has given Maria a taste for the finer things in life, and she can typically be seen with her friend in the backstage, the two of them sharing a bottle of wine. However, Maria also loves to get down and dirty. Maria also harbors an appreciation for Gothic style, architecture and literature.

History: The Di Valentina family has a long and rich history of powerful men and woman. Many mercenaries, knights, ladies and even a few inquisitors and bishops have come from this long family. And the family honor is what Maria Di Valentina intends to uphold. Born as the youngest and only daughter in the family of five, Maria was raised by old money and aristocratic ways. She especially loved reading the Gothic literature of a bygone age and works such as that of Edgar Allen Poe. However, her life wasn't without...complications. Even as a child, Maria realized that there was something...not right with her...in that she liked, no loved to inflict pain on people, be it her brothers or the servants. This lead for her to develop an interest in fighting, namely wrestling, much to her family's dismay. All attempts on putting her on a "proper" path failed...and merely lead Maria to take her anger out on the servants.

Eventually, the family relented to Maria's demands and got her who many consider to be the best teacher in Europe, Madame DuPointe. Maria wasn't the Madame's only student however, as there was another disciple, a fellow goth named Dhalia DuBlanc. Maria and Dhalia, with their Gothic interests and need to inflict pain on others, hit it off and the two became the best of friends during the Madame's training. Sadly, the two had to part ways after their training was complete. Maria did get the feeling the two will meet up again, as she tore through the European independent circuit, relishing in the pain she inflicted upon her foes. She eventually made her way to LAW eager to make more foes submit...and to hopefully see her friend once more.
