Ichi is a resourceful, charismatic, and commanding man. He's also a horrific, ferocious sadist, bringing a theatrically unhinged persona to the ring. Outside of it, he's not so extra. Perhaps even affable. But still predatory. Evil.

Ichi's backstory is something he's told no one. But it is known that he was an orphan who was adopted by Suzuki Nakamura, a legendary name in the criminal underworld. A Yakuza hitman in the Mine Clan who would eventually lead his lead his own family. Ichi was taught the ins and outs of the criminal lifestyle, eventually making of maximum use of his size and education in Judo and wrestling to serve the Nakamura family as a debt collector, rising in the ranks over the years and becoming a well known -- infamous name himself, with many a tale to be told about his love of violence, which took many ugly forms.
This love of violence would lead him to start a career in combat pro wrestling that would be quite troubled, with him being kicked out of several promotions for the excessive damage that he'd inflict on opponents or for other public incidents. But in the contests themselves, he would be quite successful, with only a small handful of losses staining his general record. And he'd develop of a following amongst the darker, twisted minds of the Hentai wrestling fanbase, who loved the torture that he would regularly inflict.
One such mind was Paul Lombardi, a man with some pull in LAW who reached out to make him an offer, promising him plenty of "meat" to tenderize and devour, with no pesky rules to limit how he did it. Making this deal even sweeter was the knowledge that another infamous name in combat wrestling would be present in LAW as well: Kira Valentine III, whose work he admired. To the point where he'd even tattoo his eyes and use contacts, just like her.
Ichi would arrange a meeting between the two, and by the end of it, the two had worked out an understanding. A partnership of sorts. They weren't friends -- Kira wasn't in this business to make friends -- but the two acknowledged the other's aptitude for violence and degradation, and agreed to work together every now and again in order to maximize it and make their stay that much more enjoyable.

Ichi utilizes a combination of Judo and wrestling, specializing in power and submissions, and some good old fashioned brawling. He's a ferocious, brutal, merciless opponent. Being on the losing end of a match against him will inevitably see one being tortured, and often violated, whether the match called for Hentai or not. He's a sadist of the highest -- or perhaps better said, lowest order, his aim being to cause immense suffering that he gets off on.
