Even in spite of this he’ll still show kindness to such individuals since he was raised to be forgiving and kind. In fact his kindness can border on the point of naivety at times. Though this has lrgelt been curbed by street smarts and growing around less than reputable people, he still has his moments of obliviousness.
More than anything else though Rafael is determined as hell and driven to make the most of his wrestling career, in large part for his family. Having become a bread winenr for them and getting them out of poverty he still considers it to be his responsibility and as such pours everything he has into the ring and training and is one of the most determined individuals to step between the ropes.
Wrestling Style: Lucha Libre. A firm practitioner of lucha libre Rafael isn’t comfortable unless he’s able to run the ropes and move freely as he likes. Naturally he’s partial to aerial and acrobatic moves to deal damage.
But with impressive core and overall upper body strength he is also capable of dealing out power moves and slams to weaken his opponents, along with a handfull kf submissions to keep him rounded out, but ultimately high flying prowess is his bread and butter.

History:
Born in San Jaun, Puerto Rico in the La Perla neighborhood, one lf the roughest slums in the city, life was naturally hard for Rafael Aguilar growing up. The youngest of three children, his morher died shortly after giving birth to him, putting all the responsibility of providing on his father and house work and actually raising him to his two older sisters.
Scrimping and saving his dad worked multiple jobs to keep them afloat, and as they all got older so too did his sisters. Naturally Rafael wanted to help as well but whenever he suggested anything he was always told no or shut down. Instead to focus on what he wants to, snd his future. Not too worry about them.
He was the baby of the family after all, so his father and sisters felt especially protecitve over him and wanted him to have a good life, even if they suffered to make it so. Naturally this didn’t sit well with Rafael but without much else to say he went with it. One day on his birthday though his father took him and his sisters to go see a local wrestling event put on by a friend of his dad’s.
Upon seeing the action in person Rafael was captivated and entranced. It was amazing the athleticism and dramatics on disolay, the sheer grit snd determination by the wrestlers. This was it. His sissyers constsntly told him to think about what he wanted to be and do and this was definitely it he wanted to be a wreslter! This was naturally easier said than done. It took a lot of time, effort and more importantly money to train to be one.
But after confessing his wish to his dad he used his in with the wrestling promoter to work something out that would make everyone happy. Rafael would work in the gym, cleaning the fooors and equipment, running errands and basically being a gopher and get paid for it to actually help provide something to his family, even if not much.
Most importantly though it would seerve as a way of testing Rafael’s resilience and determination to be a wrestler. If he quit he wouldn’t work out, but if he stayed with it and maintained his enthusiasm then the coach would train him. Eventually this would be the case that ended up happening with Rafael starting his wrestling training at sixteen years of age.
A little over two years later he would be ready for his big debut. Nothing major. Just a normal match between him and a fellow trainee in the undercard. Prior to this match happening though some of the older, more establisjed students decided to rib him a bit, playful hazing as they called it. Namely by handing him one of the female recruits extra outfits and telling him it was gym tradition to wear such a outfit for a debut match, to show confidence regardless of what you were wearing.
Naturally Raf was a bit unsure, pink long tights were one thing but the sports bra as well? It was pushing the envelope a bit but, not wanting to jeopardize the opportunity he wore it and went with it. Understandably he did about as well as anyone can expect. He got heckled a bit cause of the outfit but actually went to a time limit draw with his fellow receuit but, despite the early reaction was actually the one getting cheered by the end.
Surprised by this he initially shrugged it off and wore a more ‘traditional’ mens outfit to his next match and didnt get near as much a reaction. People clapped and booed and what not but nothing compared to his first bout. So to test a theory he wore a more girlish outfit and sure enough got cheered. Now Rafael couldn’t explain why. Maybe he just pulled the outift off well, maybe these crowds were pervs, or maybe it was just cause it made him look different but it worked in getting more attention to him.
As a result his coach advised him to keep wearing it since it would justify putting him on more often and sk thats just what he did. After all Rafael valued getting bookings far more than looking cool in his ownv view. The extra bookings worked out well for him as well. Gaining him more experience, money and notoriety.
It wasn’t long before he found himself traceling too and competing all across Mexico, sending portions of his payments back home and, as he started to travel through and take bookings in America his family was actually able to move out of the slums and into a far more decent part of San Juan. Despite this Radael didn’t stop. He continued pushing forward, determined to rise higher and higher. He accomplished one goal but it was one he had to keep working to maintain.
Likewise he was in wrestling for more than money. He was in it to be the best. Thats why when approached by a prominent promotion overseas about competing in their growing mens division Radael was quick to say yes.
