Background
Jonathan was born into a normal childhood and he had a very good upbringing despite his parents going through a nasty divorce. He picked up on the golden age of professional wrestling quickly and started committing on the dream right after he graduated from high school. In 2004, Jonathan made his debut for a developmental brand and just started going uphill from there as he won multiple world championships and tag team championships back home in America. He even started his own faction called the Bloodline (made before Roman Reigns’s version) made up of his best friends, but they are usually off and on with their reunions and partnerships nowadays.
Jonathan mainly stayed in America for most of his career only going outside the country when there was a show sanctioned in another territory. He left the wrestling world for seven years starting in 2011 going on an extended hiatus, but he still got deals time from time that he had to decline. In 2018, Jonathan returned to wrestling and stuck to the indies to meet the next generation of wrestlers to see what they were made of.
Jonathan makes his first trip outside the USA in a long time to come to LAW in order to see the new prospects forming for the future and see if he can lend a hand to help them in their journey to the top. He’s willing to become a teacher, manager, and even wrestle occasionally in order to help the next generation flourish for years to come.
Outside the ring in his personal life, he’s married with two kids and is a sucker for traveling, mysteries, politics, etc.
Personality:
Jonathan is a typical caring individual and in his older age, he has matured to help people learn in order to grow strong. He tries to lend a helping hand where he can and where mistakes are made, Jonathan will mostly help those that need correcting. Jonathan is very understanding and always asks in detail where potential students need improvement. He won’t give up until he feels the person he is helping is up to task and can defend themselves fairly.
That being said, he has no tolerance for bullshit from anyone and will stand up for people that can’t do it themselves. He is not one to back down and if the situation calls for a physical altercation, he’s more than happy to settle it in the ring. Jonathan wants to be diplomatic as much as possible, but he understands that sometimes cracking a few skulls will solve the problem plainly.
Jonathan does possess a comedic side and loves making new friends that come up to him. He has been determined to be a fun guy to hang out with, but can sometimes go off on rants and can be a bit too cocky at times when he doesn’t catch himself. Overall, Jonathan is kind and genuine to those around him and helps those that truly need it (a primary reason he has come to Japan.)
Wrestling Skills:
Jonathan wrestles more technician and submission-based, but does have a tendency to go high risk when the need for it arises. He’s very flexible so he can often do springboard and slingshot moves to gain a quick advantage or even send his opponent outside to get some breathing room.
If he’s up against a despicable heel, he will pull out a comedic routine either to stall for time or just mess around with his opponent. Sometimes, Jonathan puts his hands in his pocket ala Orange Cassidy and wrestles like that not taking his opponent seriously, but it can cost him if he’s not careful. Other times, he can make passing comments to play mind games and he loves getting inside the heads of his opponents.
However, Jonathan treats fair opponents like real wrestlers and tries to teach them past their limits taking them on great matches. He wants to know what they can handle and how much of it they are willing to take or dish out.
Teaching Skills:
As for his teaching abilities, Jonathan can teach mostly technical holds and submissions to help his potential students fill up their inventory. He can also teach his students about variety in that they need to balance their move sets with different styles to help them stand out more to the crowd.
