Born in a seaside city, Ryu was always a quiet child, even when he hit a few rebellious streaks during his youth. He often snuck out to the beach to watch the ships coming and going, or to spectate the numerous waves as they broke upon the rocks and the sand, scattering trails of sea foam across the land and sea. He loved the atmosphere the beach brought him, all those sights and sounds traveling through him, every sensation reverberating through his very soul. It got to a point where one could always find the silent loner swimming laps around in the waters or surfing the waves whenever they rolled in on a good day. Even when it stormed, Ryu found a home on the beach.
One school day, when he snuck down to the beach before classes for the day were finished, he stumbled across a rare occurrence...something he'd NEVER seen before. A local wrestling promotion had made a trip down to the coast for a special seaside showcase, displaying incredible talent from all over some of the local prefectures. Ryu watched from afar, not having enough money on hand to get a ticket, but his second home on the beach had gifted him a new fixation...professional wrestling...and just like that, he was hooked! He went home and started watching as much pro-wrestling footage as he could on his family's old TV, even going so far as to rent old VHS tapes and DVDs covering old school PPVs from more vintage eras of wrestling across Japan, the United States, Europe...anything he could get his hands on.
And then...Ryu started to train RIGOROUSLY. Swimming, track and field, and martial arts...tackling each commitment with serious dedication and discipline as a means to work toward his goal of eventually becoming a professional wrestler. He strengthened not only his body but his soul as well. Throughout his high school years, he excelled as a star athlete, taking home numerous local and regional competitions in track and field and swimming, and earning his black belt in karate before he turned eighteen. When it came time for graduation, the star athlete was ready to begin his training to become a full-time professional wrestler.
It wasn't easy, the workouts were twice as hard with triple the intensity, but Ryu stuck through it until the end, proving to be quite the natural as a matter of fact...When it came time to make his indie debut, he was the clear breakout star of his trainee class. Nobody could match his spirit, his dedication, his sheer willpower...he was always the first one in and the last one out, rerunning drills over and over until he drilled every motion, every hold, and EVERY GRAPPLE into his mind, working the art of professional wrestling into every fiber of his being until he became a true disciple of the sport. No matter the opponent, no matter the difference, and no matter the style, Ryu always proved to be a step ahead of the rest, captivating the audience with his intimidatingly silent aura and decimating foes with his sharp wrestling talent and overwhelming force...
And so, years down the line with plenty of experience under his belt, Ryu was ready to tackle something BIGGER, looking to refine his craft further and prove himself as one of the greatest of all time by venturing forward into new uncharted waters...
Personality: A quiet child, even since he was young, Ryu was never the type to be loud, brash, overbearing, or even sociable. While he has the makings of a fine young man, a great teammate, a solid leader, and a stupendous athlete, he struggles with communicating due to his reserved nature, leading to an innate shyness and apprehension toward social interactions...at least, at first. Once you get over those initial hurdles, Ryu proves to be a nice person to interact with, even if he proves hard to read at times, given his intimidating, unnerving looks...he's a rather relaxed individual at heart
When in the ring, he's a far more serious, no-nonsense type of competitor, focusing on the fight and his opponent, no matter who they are. His priorities lie with taking the match seriously and upholding the tradition and respect he's since attached to professional wrestling as both a sport and a part of his life.

Strategy: A jack of all trades, the young man finds himself a sharp contender as a fierce wrestler in the ring who can excel at nearly all levels of the game. Sharp grappling with incredible acrobatics, tight submissions weaved between powerful slams...every facet of his kit made better by his impeccable athleticism. If he can't fight back now, then he'll endure as best he can and wait for the moment when he can seize control back.
