Diluc can be a rather volatile individual, possessed of a strong sense of justice, bordering on self-righteousness, he is quick to act, be it in defense of those who need it or by delivering justice to ones that in his eyes deserve it. In that pursuit, he is not above using dirty tactics, believing in fighting fire with fire.
Out of the ring, he can come off as aloof and arrogant. This is the shell he developed over the years to distance himself from happenings around it but in reality, he can be quite a tender and caring individual, even if his repression of emotions makes it awkward.

Facing foes that he deems as not having done wrong he tends to hold back a little, not wanting to seriously hurt them and being glad to just put on a good show for the people watching. Facing heels however he pulls out all the stops, every dirty move in the book is fine with him in such matches so long as it brings him closer to putting such an oponent down.

Diluc was raised as a single child of a German police officer and a Japanese chef. Growing up he idolized his father and wanted to be just like him when he grew up. To that effect, he was an upstanding young man. A picture of good behavior, always willing to help. He got actively involved in many after-school activities, mostly sports like Boxing and to a lesser extent - Sambo. Throughout all of his education, he was also involved with student councils and showed great respect to authorities as well as an eagerness to be a part of their workings.
In his adult life, he decided to follow his father's path by enlisting with the police. To his credit he did a commendable job, being frequently praised for his achievements and was climbing through the ranks quickly. That all came to a sudden stop when his father was accused and convicted of a crime he did not commit. In Diluc’s mind, there was no doubt that he was being framed and in a sudden burst of anger, he left the police, his former faith in it, shattered as he was determined to find out the truth on his own.
Eventually, though it was a long and dangerous road he found out the people responsible and gathered undeniable evidence that would see his father be cleared of all charges and the real criminals put behind bars. This was however a short moment of happiness as along the way he made many powerful enemies, the kind that would not let such a thing slide. He had to leave not only the town but the country, luckily having family in japan came in handy in that regard as they were happy to help by providing him shelter while he set up in the unfamiliar land.
Not having much in terms of a learned trade he was struggling to find employment until one of his cuisines suggested that she should sign in for tryouts for LAW. Having nothing to lose and figuring he might actually not do that badly he decided to go and after making a stellar impression, eventually got signed.
