One of my current goals this year is to onboard more staff to help with various responsibilities around LAW, as I cannot cover all of them all of the time, myself. Below will be the form I'd like you to use if you are interested in doing moderator work for our discord server. My goal is to onboard 2-3 more discord moderators in order to free myself up to work on other projects and things for LAW. Discord moderation and interaction is, for me, by far the most taxing thing I deal with so it would be a huge help to find reliable people for this.
In order to keep the process fair and available to everyone, please note that you must submit this questionnaire with your answers if your answers if you want to be considered for discord moderation. That stands, even if you have expressed interest in this type of thing to me before. Please send your responses to me via site PM. I will share them with the discord moderation team, and only the discord moderation team. Collectively we will decide who we want to move forward with. The more information you share for each question, the better. Thank you.
Additionally, while I have you here, if you would like to contribute with event planning, please contact and work with @Monsy. Monsy and myself spearhead most LAW events but if you'd like to contribute, you'd be working with him directly. If you are interested in joining the event coordination staff, please reach out to him directly.
- 1) How long have you been a LAW user?
- 2) What is your timezone?
- 3) Do you have any prior experience moderating online communities? If yes, could you link them and describe your past experience?
- 4) What types of changes would you like to see for the LAW Discord server? How do you think they might help the community as a whole?
- 5) Do you believe working as a moderator will impact your experience engaging with LAW as a community? Former moderators have has this issue. I don't want it to impact new recruits?
- 6) Are you comfortable working with other members of the LAW Discord Mod Team and arriving at decisions together? We will not always agree on every decision. Such is the nature of working on any team. Which is why experience doing mod work and experience working on a team matters.
