It was dark, just the way John liked it. He walked along the streets of the city without a care in the world. For in reality, he had all the time in the world to do whatever he wanted. Being a vampire had its perks, but the one thing John hated most was when the people closest to him died. Not from any weapon or poison or violence, but from the one thing he would always be able to outrun. Time. Time was the one enemy he had and yet was his closest friend for he cherished the memories he had of those who had since grown old and passed. Something he would never experience. The thought cut deep into him and he found his rage growing, his fist slamming into the side of a brick wall, nearly caving in the whole building, “Hey buddy, you alright?” A random civilian slowly walked up to him, but before she could escape, John’s eyes locked on her and he lunged, his fangs moving to sink deep into her neck as his bloodlust slowly began to take over.
