Genevieve’s Denny’s trip

Lexi had planned to have lunch with her student Genevieve so the two could get to know each other better. Lexi walked to the door of Genevieve's upper class apartment building. "How much are they paying the wrestlers in the young lionesses program, god damn?" Lexi asked herself before knocking on Genevieve's door and seeing if she was ready to go out.

It would take a minute of waiting before Genevieve answered the door. “Hello Lexi.” She was smiling at her and she looked pretty good, especially with her flowing flower themed dress. « On va déjeuner ? » (“We going to get some lunch?”)

This was something Lexi has not seen. Genevieve’s place inside was actually decent looking. All the furniture looked like it cost a bit more than her rent and also everything looked very tidy.

Lexi smiled and greeted Genevieve answering her question with a simple Oui. Lexi glanced inside of Genevieve's place "Ton endroit a l'air sympa" (Your place looks nice) Lexi said complimenting Genevieve. "Alors, où aimeriez-vous aller manger?" (So where would you like to go and eat at?) Lexi asked leaning against the wall still with a smile on her face.

Genevieve smiled as she took the compliment. "Oh merci. Je l'ai acheté avec l'argent supplémentaire que j'avais sur moi. (“Oh thank you. I bought this with the extra cash I had on me.”) She then walked out and locked her door. She then started walking with her while she talked with her. "Tu sais. J'aimerais essayer quelques… Chick-Fil-A ? C'est comme ça que ça s'appelle ? (“You know. I would like to try out some… Chick-Fil-A? Is that what it’s called?”)

Lexi thought about Chik Fil A for a second and realized it was closed. "Je pense qu'ils sont fermés le dimanche" (I think they are closed on Sundays) Lexi replied. "D'autres idées?" (Any other ideas?) Lexi asked as they walked to her car.

Genevieve sighed a bit but carried on. "Oh, je voulais essayer mais bon." (“Oh I did wanna try it but oh well.”) She then took a second to think of another restaurant to eat at. « Oh. Je veux manger dans un Denny's. J'ai entendu dire qu'ils s'appelaient America's Diner. Je veux aussi essayer leurs hamburgers là-bas. J'ai entendu dire qu'ils étaient plutôt bons. (“Ooh. I wanna eat at a Denny’s. I heard that they were called America’s Diner. I also wanna try their burgers there. I heard they were pretty good.”)

Lexi paused for a moment and was confused. "Denny's, you come all the way from France... for Denny's? Lexi asked jokingly. "Alright Denny's it is" Lexi said as the two got into Lexi's car and drove to Denny's. Arriving at Denny's Lexi turned off her car and got out and walked to the entrance with Genevieve.

Genevieve didn’t laugh at first, probably because she didn’t understand English well, but after Lexi laughed at her joke, she would as well, smiling. She then smiled as she was driven to the Denny’s.

Once the two arrived, Genevieve got out of the car and entered the Denny’s surprised at the interior of the place. "Ouah. Cet endroit a l'air plutôt américain. (“Wow. This place looks pretty American.”) She sat in a tad beat up booth chair as the both of them would be waiting to be seated.

Lexi frowned a bit as Genevieve seemed a bit disappointed. "Si vous pensez que cela semble mauvais, vous devriez voir une maison de gaufres" (If you think this seems bad you should see a waffle house) Lexi joked trying to lighten the mood again as she sat across from Genevieve.

Genevieve smiled as she looked at Lexi. « Oh, ça ne me dérange pas. Il a un sentiment intime. (“Oh I don’t mind. It has a homey feeling.”). She then looked forward again, watching a family of two eating. « Alors on fait des réservations dans cet établissement ? Il ne semble pas tout à fait emballé ici. (“So do we make reservations in this establishment? It doesn’t seem quite packed here.”)
