Yukino Fuyumi had only been in professional wrestling for a few short months, but she could hardly believe how much she'd accomplished. She had trained, she had followed her best friend Nashi Dragneel to the ring, they had formed a tag team, and even when she was faced with doubters and naysayers, she put forth all the effort she could to prove she had a place in the wrestling world, propelling herself to new heights and surpassing her own limits. Sure, it had its ups and downs. She'd faced some crushing losses, and she had struggled with the thought of whether or not she could measure up to some of her fellow wrestlers. But in the end, she had come away from every such moment with a newfound determination to be stronger, and she was committed to making those dreams of greatness a reality. In the end, she wouldn't look back.
Now, with the new year on the horizon, Yukino could only hope for good fortune in her future. She had her foot in the door, and she'd proven she was here to stay. Her career could only grow from here, and she would be ready for everything it would bring. This year, she thought to herself, would be the year of the Idol Dragons.
Now, the year was drawing to its last moments. She was ready to greet the future, and that brought her down to the shore to watch the fireworks. That was, until she heard a voice call out to her.
"Hmm? Who's-" Yukino stopped, looking toward the source of the noise - only to freeze when she saw the boy in front of her. It couldn't be. Yusuke might not have recognized Yukino...but she certainly recognized him.
All through high school, he had been her crush, but she had never been able to work up the courage to speak to him. It was only during the school festival at the end of the year that she finally found it in her to approach him - and that had just led to her kissing him and running off in a panic. Since then, she never thought she would ever see him again. She was confident that he forgot she even existed. But now...she finally had.
"Yusuke..? What are...you doing here-?" she began, only to stop herself when she realized she was letting on too much about how she knew him - and if that can of worms was opened, it could only get more embarrassing if more of her secrets came to light. Clearing her throat, she turned aside.
"I mean, ah, er, I was just...passing through..." Her heart was pounding in her chest. Should she say anything? And if so...what was there to even say?
