"WHOOOO!" Karen screamed with delight as she rotated her body, swiveling her board to the side to ride the crest of the rolling wave. The forward momentum of the ride propelled her forward even as she skirted along it, speeding just beneath the rising crest of the wave. Then, at the last second, she cleared the wave just before it could come crashing down on her, the momentum pushing her outward towards the waiting beach.
God, she leaved this. The sun, the surf...just another nice day at the beach. As far as leisure time went, it sure beat sitting at home and waiting for a phone call.
Upon hitting the beach, the Kiwi reached down and tucked her board under her arm, before striding back up onto the open sand. Her application to LAW had been accepted only recently; now she was just waiting for confirmation that her contract had been ratified, and for news of any matches she was to be scheduled in. Normally, she would have her phone on hand just so that she could receive that call, but...it had been three days now. She had been warned that it might take a while, but she absolutely refused to just sit at home all day waiting. And so instead she had decided to head out, catch some rays, and enjoy the beach. She had her phone waiting with the rest of her stuff, so she could still check her messages if she needed to.
But for now...she sniffed the air and grinned. One of the food vendors out there was grilling seafood. Some nice takoyaki after a surf was just what she needed. Keeping her surfboard tucked under her arm, she headed off towards the nearest food stall. Of course, she was careful not to hit anyone with her board, but she also couldn't see everyone on this packed beach...
