In a word, Skylar Jones was a handful. At her best, she was arrogant and untrusting. At her worst, she was an absolute terror, arbitrary in her targets and ruthless in her brutality. Not really the kind of person that Leonie Bowen often made friends of. Even so, there she was, walking into a Chuck E. Cheese with a big ol' grin on her face, just because she was going to see Sky.
If Sky and Leonie hadn't fought in
Leonie's debut match, gone to a bar afterwards, then later met in a far more lewd rematch, she didn't really know
what she would've ended up thinking about Sky. As things stood, though, they were friends, and that meant something to the Minnesotan. She valued Sky's friendship, so even though they'd only knew each other for a few months, Leonie jumped at the chance to hang out with her on her 20th birthday.
She pushed past the double-paned glass doors, a plain blue gift bag in tow. It was her first time in a Chuck E. Cheese, but the first few seconds mostly matched her expectations. Arcade machines lined with colorful lights, countless booths and longer party tables, and a network of child-sized plastic tubes that all led to a ball pit in the center of the room. What
didn't line up was the collection of five grown-ass women surrounding one of the tables.
Seeing the guest of honor, Leonie smiled wide.
"Sky!" she called out before speedwalking over. She set the bag down on the table and made to hug Sky.
"Happy birthday! Thanks for having me." Then she turned to the rest of the gals, smirking casually and offering a sheepish wave.
"Uh, hey guys. I'm Leonie. I've only been in LAW for about half a year, but it's good to meet you all!"
