Another Day, Another Story (Open Thread)

Unread post by Lunaspark »

(Please read this thread for details on what this is all about!)

Angel smiled as she opened the door to her new home, tossing one of the bags she was holding to one side as she stepped into the small, cozy apartment. The last few years of her life, living in New York and working for another wrestling promotion...they had been interesting. Fun, even. But now? She was back in Japan, and she couldn't believe how happy she felt about it. Her family was still in Mexico, and New York had been a neat experience, but...Japan was home. It was where her career had first really taken off, where all her biggest accomplishments and best memories had happened. She had friends here. She had history here, and honestly, being back in the country? She couldn't believe she had actually ever left.

She closed the door behind her, and pulled out her phone, checking it for a message from apartment owners. The rest of her luggage would be here soon, and then she could begin unpacking her stuff. There was no hurry for that though. She had the important stuff with her already. She had what she needed for the next chapter in her life.

Carrying her other bag with her to the bedroom of the apartment, she placed it on her bed, slowly unzipping it and taking a looking inside. She stared at what was there for a few long, silent moments, then reached inside to grab it, pulling out the jacket and the top for her wrestling gear, holding it up in front of her.

"Bueno..." The Latina whispered quietly to herself, after taking a few seconds to glance over the clothes, making sure there were no rips, tears, or other issues with the outfit. It had been a while since she had worn it, and standing there, staring at it...she felt herself growing hungry. Excited. Anxious to get back in the ring, to get back to doing what she was best at: kicking ass and standing tall over her opponents.

She set the top back down, tucking it into her bag, and then threw herself onto the bed, closing her eyes contentedly. She was ready. She was ready for LAW, and for the new crop of opponents and rivals she would have waiting for her.

She just hoped they were ready for her!

Why was she doing this to herself? What in the world would possess Julie Dykstra-Liao to open up League of Legends and play a few games? Every single time, it felt like she was playing against not only her opponents, but also her teammates, her own sanity, and the will of God himself.

Okay, maybe it wasn't that bad. She wasn't even getting harassed or anything, mostly because she was playing on her alternate account. It was just that, most of the time, Julie preferred to play with friends. People from back home, streamer friends, college friends, stuff like that.

Tonight, though, most of her normal gaming buddies were offline. Vanessa, Allie, Jem, Sayako, and all her fellow LAW streamers were doing other stuff. The ladies of Team Stanza, who she'd taught how to play (except for Shiori, that girl was already at twice her ELO before they'd even met), were probably all asleep. And she hadn't really gotten around to adding anyone else on her alt yet.

...But there was one person online in her friends list.

Julie closed her eyes and wrinkled her brows, cringing to herself. "Ugggggghhhhhhhh. Not him, pleeease..." That was a bridge Julie promised herself she'd never cross. Frankly, she didn't even know why she had the dude added. But nobody else was online. And she didn't feel like going to bed, nor did she really wanna play anything else.

Ah, fuck it. League was a mistake in and of itself. What harm was one more?

CardinalSin: yo zane do you wanna game

"Before Sunrise"
(happens right after this night:
viewtopic.php?p=208320#p208320)

Harmonia Edelstein awoke before her usual time.
Usually, the blonde beauty slept until 07:30.
The Austrian hated nothing more than sleeping through the day like her sister.
Harmonia's room faced east so she could see the magnificent sunrise from her balcony every morning.
It was still January so the sun would rise around 07:15 am.
Harmonia usually slept through the night until her alarm went off, so what woke her up?

The answer came from a rustle under the covers next to her and a smile spread across Harmonia's face.

Molly had spent the first night with her and what a great night it had been.
She was surprised that she hadn't overslept after the exertion, but her inner clock couldn't be switched off.

She turned around and pushed the covers aside a little.
There she was.
Molly Forster, her girlfriend.
Harmonia gently reached out and touched her lover's tender cheek only to be rewarded with a contented sigh from Molly.

The Austrian giggled and carefully slid closer to Molly, wrapping an arm around her and gently pulling her towards her.

She felt the gentle breath, breathed in Molly's scent and felt her skin against hers as the two women's naked bodies found each other again after their first night together.

The sun wasn't up yet, but for Harmonia, every moment Molly entered the room was a sunrise.
She listened to the soft sounds of her sleeping friend and gently kissed her forehead.
"I love you..." Harmonia whispered and Molly smiled softly as if she heard her.

The sun rose and for the first time in her life Harmonia didn't watch it.
Because her sun had long since risen...

Takes place three days after Thereisa vs Kathleen.

Serilda was livid at the moment while standing outside her mother hospital room. She had just gotten back from a trip dealing with sponsorships deals to push the Cyber Legacy brand, doing her best to bring in more deals for them and really stand out as the leader of said group since a lot of fans thought that her mother would be in charge of the group.

So picture her surprise coming back to their house and getting a message from their manager telling her to get to the hospital as quickly as possible, due to her mother injuries during a match and Ana being attacked in said match against some strong middleweight contender who was able to leave Thereisa bloody in the middle of the ring for everyone to see. Taking a deep breath she opens the door and walks inside... seeing her mother laying in bed with medical tape wrapped around her head, taking a few steps forward being rushing to her side and holding her mother hand in hers.

'Who did this?' she asks while looking at Ana who is sitting in a chair on the other side, an ice pack on the back of her head from taking a elbow strike. 'Kathleen Hendricks... that one who cheated and beat Alaina... and she is a cruel woman who...' overcome with emotion at not being able to do anything, Ana covers her face with her hands letting out low sobs, not being to stop the match or protect her mother figure from the other woman and paid for it dearly. Furious at seeing her step-sister letting out sobs, Serilda swears that she would get revenge for this slight, but before she could leave and go to the arena... her mother hand grips hers tightly and keeps her there.

Turning her head to the side, looking at her girls and taking Ana hand in hers, looking at both of them with a silent fury in her eyes at the nerve of Kathleen threatening to break her girl's neck. 'I'm going to handle her, understand you two?... she has started a blood feud with me by threatening you both. I will not allow that to stand, I will deal with her, but both of us need to be on the same page from now on.' She says, placing her hand out in the middle for them both to see.

'You both are my Legacy, my daughters, and we will rule LAW as a unit on the same page... Together.' Hearing what her mother just said. Serilda frowns, her and her mother have not been clicking since the whole Gil issue but seeing that look on her mother face again a cruel smirk appears on her face as well. 'I will start it off by reclaiming what is ours, the Legacy Title is mines by right and Alaina won't know what hit her after I'm done with her.' as she places her hand in as well, both women looking at Ana who is still silent.

'I'm scared... that she would hurt you both or something worse, mom?.' Ana says, even going as far to call her step-mother mom to let them know that she is afraid and worried about the worst happening, getting into the ring with that woman again. But before she can even say anymore... Thereisa hugs the younger blue hair girl and kisses her forehead, 'You are my daughter Ana... It is the mother job to defend her children when they are threatened, both of you are Meine Töchter, meine Wölfe (My daughters, My Wolves) we will crush any in our path together.' letting out a small sniffle, Ana nods her head and holds her hand out in the middle. This was the moment that changed LAW, as all three women are now united against the whole company and Kathleen.

WHEN YOU REACH YOUR LIMIT
╚══════ °❀•°✮°•❀° ══════╝
(This happens about 2 days after her meeting with Jonathan)

Fenrir had already spent some time outside the Radar since she had that situation with her boyfriend and her crazy friend, everything that happened there exploded in memories of all their fights, and in a moment, she stopped when she arrived at an old building, entering and after using an old key, she would enter, realizing that that place, her old room where she lived for more than 3 years, was still just as nasty

arriving and looking at everything, she realized that there were pictures there of when she took her Opponents bleeding and unconscious in the street, when she was a slum fighter, and almost without being able to help it, tears would fall from her eyes
Wh-why..... What happened to the wolf I once was........
throwing the things all over the place, Fenrir would fall on the floor crying.
Everything, all that effort to please Gil, the girls..... To Jonatan, it was all to make me weak

Showing nervousness and looking like she would lose her mind, she would throw several things making a mess and unintentionally getting a cut on her arm, seeing the dripping blood

Je..... Raposa, that girl thought it would be a nice fight and just got bitten, humiliated and finished, when she screamed in pain with the knife....... That, that's who I really am

After the bleeding stopped after a few minutes, Fenrir would look through her things, finding a razor she had, there she would take it and hesitating whether to do it, she would pull down her clothes, being left with her bare bottom, and supporting herself with a mirror, she would make a cut with the razor on her ass and little by little she would move it, holding back the scream, While little by little she would make a drawing, leaving it to see what was some letters "MID" and so, she would clean herself with some paper, being a lot of blood what she cleaned herself, before thinking about it and telling herself

If I fail me again as a wolf, I do not hesitate to break, and that is a promise.

thinking about it so much and thinking about it, she would soon see someone in front of her........ Herself, albeit in her ring suit, but this one had blood marks and several wounds, both all over her body as well as her eye

What the heck.......

so be it Mizuki, lose again and your true self will return, and there will be no turning back, that's a promise.

after smiling, that Fenrir disappeared in a haze, so knowing what it was, she took everything that could be important from that small apartment, before finding some paper, taking as much as possible and gathering it, to take a lighter and throw it, getting out of there before the fire spread and burned her past.

only one life, I hope it all ends well......

Karl Schneider exited his car and walked onto the grass of the hill he had stopped.
Thankfully Japan was'nt so different from his homecountry, mountains, endless fields, forests, and flowers in all colours.

The reporter sat down in the grass and listened to the soft winds of spring that touched his skin warm and comforting.
His knee, his damn knee again.
It hurt like hell and doctors gave him the grim prognosis that it would'nt get better, only worse.

Karl reached into his jacket and pulled out a knife.
This place here was as good as any other, he thought.
Why not here? Surrounded by flowers, the wind and the warm sun?
He looked at his wrists, would it be over quick? He had no idea.

The only thing that counted was what he wanted to do, what he HAD to do.
The pain became unsufferable, his life was just a downward spiral into nothingness.

Might as well end it here and now,
as if anyone cared.
Since his accident no one cared for him anymore, especially he did'nt care for himself anymore.
And now he was here, still without hope and punished with a pain that would only grow with the years...
He looked at the flowers and put the knife to his right wrist as...
He felt his cellphone vibrating.

"Hey Karli! Would you buy me some ice cream on your home?"
"Karl! Come to the pub I have awesome news!"
"Hey, old man, how's it going?"
"Karl, we have dinner on sunday, I would appreciate it if you could shave."
"Karl! Care for a beer? Come over!"
"Your last article was great, keep up the good work!"
"Herr Schneider, thanks for your kind Mail, I always love to hear from you."
"Daddy! I miss you, when do you visit me again?"

Karl looked at his cellphone that trembled in has shaking hand.
Tears dropped on the display as he finally rememberd what the pain had denied him.

You are not alone...

The austrian looked at the knife in his hand amd threw it away, wide, wide into the grass and the flowers before he fell back again on the soft ground.
He smelled the flowers, he felt the wind, he saw the blue sky above him and again four words, these four saving words:

You are not alone.

The sound of strings filled the hall, backed up by the brass and percussion. Softness filled the air while the instruments played their orchestral tunes. And before it all, with the spotlight shining on her, was Sonnet M. Yukine, conducting each instrument and expertly commanding the beat. The gathered audience was completely enthralled. Her white hair flowed with each swish of the hand, her lilac eyes scanning each section to direct them accordingly.

Now and again, despite herself, she would take a glance at the violins, specifically her husband, Masanori Yukine. As handsome as the day they had met, not a touch of grey among his brown hair despite being almost 40, and his brown eyes lovingly staring into hers. The two had been happily married for so many years, and their love was as as strong as it had been 15 years ago. It was also, unfortunately, something that critics knocked them for as it could sometimes cause her to give the wrong direction. But the two never cared.

Off to the side, a young Chris looked on as her parents performed, wide eyed and smiling brightly. It was a nice perk being the child of the conductor and first chair violinist. She got to see the orchestra perform from the side of the stage, getting an up close look at the musicians. And she would get to see her parents immediately after, lifted up into one of both of her parents arms and laugh happily together.

But today would not be one of these days.

A sudden flash filled the young girl's eyes, a wave of heat blinding her and screams of fear and pain deafening her. The next thing Chris knew, the concert hall was ablaze and the stage littered in debris. "M-mommy?" She would weakly call out, getting to her feet and walking to where she saw them. "Daddy?" A little louder, finding her voice somewhat despite the suffocating smoke. She could continue calling for them as she took slow, painful steps closer to the burning stage. "Mommy! D-*cough cough*daddy!"

They had to be there, right? They wouldn't have left her and escaped without her. They were there, and they were OK. That is what her child brain had told her.

Suddenly she would be pulled up into someone's arms, carrying her away from the fire that separated her and her parents. "Noo! Noo! *cough cough cough* MOMMY! DADDY! Put me downn!!" She would tantrum, trying to escape the stranger in her childhood ignorance. All she knew was she wanted her parents. And those cries and thoughts were all she knew as she fell into darkness.

Light filled the waking rock star's eyes, waking up from the dream realm. It'd been about twenty years since the terrorist attack that killed her parents and so many others, and almost every night since she relived it. Not to wonder what she could do to stop it, she was barely out of diapers, she had a better chance of catching chicken pox than stopping some terrorists. No, it was just the most vivid memory she had of them. Her two parents, shining so brightly for all to see. Their love for each other and for their craft clear for all the world to see. And it was the most she could remember of them, save for some select photographs her uncle had been able to grab for her.

Chris turned her head and smiled, looking at the photo that lay on her nightstand of her and her parents. "I miss you two, everyday. And I hope that I'm able to make you proud up there, even if my career is a bit askew from what you probably wanted," she said as she did every morning. Their smiling faces, all together, was how her morning routine began. It was akin to them seeing her off as she went to go out and kick ass, wishing her the best of luck.

"I love you, mom and dad." She sat out of bed, throwing the covers off haphazardly, and began getting ready for the day ahead.

A Shitty Situation

The hastened footsteps of Emaline and Shira sprinting at top speed echoed within the hallways of the LAW arena. After gaining sufficient distance, they stopped to take a breather.
"W-we... we need to inform management." The latter tentatively suggested, her voice still shaky from breathing heavily.
"Absolutely not." The former shot down the idea almost instantly, sounding just as exhausted. "We would undoubtedly be regarded as responsible."
"B-but... we are?!"
"Not if we resolve the situation ourselves." Emaline uttered decisively. "Come, let us visit the security room." She took a step but then stopped and slumped limply onto the wall. "After we've had sufficient rest."

The duo soon arrived at the security room and Shira knocked at the door. The soon-to-be unfortunate security guard on detail opened the door. "How can I-gak!" Emaline nailed him with a roundhouse kick to the head the instance the opportunity presented itself.
"Don't concern yourself." She 'assured' Shira. "If the concussion didn't erase his memory, my bribe will."
"Y-yes..." The redhead agreed nervously before they entered inside. After ensuring the body was hidden away, they hopped on the terminal connected to the security cameras and switched the feed to the camera overlooking the entrance of the ladies restroom. Rewinding the video a couple minutes to the past, the saw themselves exiting the toilet in a hurry.
The pinkette smirked. "Excellent." They then disposed of the evidence and left the security rooms to continue life as if nothing happened.

Meanwhile, in the bowels of the aforementioned ladies restroom, there lay a toilet bowl clogged with wet wipes. From which, spewed an endless supply of putrid brown and yellow water.

Tanner Del Rio threw open the door to her room, flinging her gym bag aimlessly across the area with a derisive growl. A few moments later, her roommate, Corrine DuPage followed her in, wordlessly picking up the bag and hanging it on a nearby hook.

"Who does that bitch think she is?" Tanner yelled. "I'm 'all bark and no bite?'" She ran her hands through her hair in disbelief at the asinine words from today's guest lecturer. Some no-name bitch who'd never wrestled a day in her life, she bet!

"For what it's worth, I don't think she's wrong," Corrine replied, walking over to her wall of swords and making sure that each one was well and truly secure. If she was right, then she didn't want Tanner going anywhere near them.

"Huh? The fuck does that mean?"

"I happen to think you're quite nice."

Tanner stopped in her tracks. She blinked at her roommate. "Nice?" she repeated. "Nice? Have you not been paying attention for however the fuck long you've lived with me?" Her face was contorted into a snarl of disbelief. "I'm not 'nice.' Nice is for chicks who wait in line and hold the door and all that crap. For, like, half of our annoying-ass 'classmates.'" She threw air quotes up with her hands. "I ain't 'nice,' and fuck you for thinkin' I am. Y'know what, fuck it. Imma go show some assholes just how 'nice' I really am."

She flung the door open once more, stomping into the dorm hallway. "Tanner?" Corrine poked her head out with a concerned look on her face. A man was walking just ahead of the reptilian Lioness, wheeling a cart filled with cleaning supplies. Tanner waved him over with a rough swipe of her arm.

"'Ey!" she yelled. "The fuck is your name, asshole?"

The staffer turned, stunned into a cold sweat. "Eh? I-I'm Shoda. LAW Housekeep-"

"Don't fuckin' care!" Suddenly, Tanner lashed out, shooting her boot straight into the poor employee's jaw! He crumpled backwards like a sack of bricks, falling head-first into the trash can he was wheeling around! "Tanith Del Rio!" Corrine raised her voice scoldingly and made to follow after the delinquent, but it was too late. She was already gone, storming down the hallway. Though she swiftly turned a corner to duck out of Corrine's sight, every so often, a similar exchange would fill the halls:

"Yo! Who are you?"

"I'm on the marketing tea- GYAH!"

"Never seen you around here!"

"Oh! I'm Shiori Takeda, nice to mee- AHH!"

"S'your name, dickwad?"

"Uh, Harukawa Reimu? Your classma- OOF!"

War Rally

Unread post by dlamp »

Himeko looked around the room, her eyes narrowed in displeasure as the tens of Taishuya staff members moved, adjusted, and fixed a number of cushions and seating arrangements within the large Japanese-styled room. Several employees and assistants ran about, a few moving a large kotatsu from a different section of the building toward the center the room, another group finished setting the proper power point presentation with the projector above them, and a handful of servants were setting an array of teas, sake, and war along the table. At the rate things were moving things should be finished in five minutes.

Just barely enough time.

"Let's go people! We're live in five minutes and this place still looks like a fuckin' movie theater." Himeko clapped her hands to speed the several Taishuya staff members' pace, her deep voice sending a shiver down many of their spines as she picked up the pace. Turning a large traditional room into a proper meeting room wasn't impossible, but getting things properly in place and having the room be aesthetically pleasing enough for the viewers would be... a challenge.

"It is a theater, Hime-chan."

Himeko's eyebrow twitched at Nanase's tone, just barely able to notice the sarcasm in it. She shot the woman a glare that Nanase simply responded with a shrug before Himeko waved her off. Of all the times for Nanase to get smart, this was a pretty shitty moment to do it. "And I need it to be a meeting room now, Nanana." Himeko snapped, clapping her hands again to keep the staff members moving. "Four minutes!"

She watched the staff move for another moment before finally turning to Reiko. The girl had been oddly quiet despite all the excitement around them. Looking her over, Himeko's eyes focused on Reiko's shaking shoulders. Huh... She rose an eye, taking a full look at Reiko's body. She wasn't just shaking, she was trembling. The girl's eyes were locked onto her teacup as if the thing might hop away, her thighs were shaking, her knees might be too if she wasn't sitting in seiza, and even Himeko could see the sweat start to build around her neck and forehead. "Jeez," The Princess rolled her eyes. She knew the girl wasn't one for public speaking, but it sure was a different sight compared to how wild she acted in the ring. Then again she basically cracked during her first promo. Guess she can only keep that up in the ring then. Not unheard of, a lot of people did better when in the thick of things and turned into awkward puddles when back in the world of humans. "Relax runt," She place a hand on Reiko's head, giving a quick flinch from her before the girl looked up. "Me and Nanana are gonna' do most of the talking after you finish your part."

"... ... ..." Reiko still fidgeted in place, as if Himeko's words didn't reach her ears. Then, Himeko smack her on the back. Hard. "W-Wha-?!" Her eyes darted around before reaching Himeko's, narrowing into a glare and pout as she was forced out of her nervous daydream.

"Relax." The Princess her hand on Reiko's head again, pushing it down. "You just gotta' talk about that little surprise of yours. Me and Nanana got a shitload more to go over than a new job. You can't fuck it up that badly." Worst case scenario, Reiko could be comedy hour and break the tension before the real discussions began.

However, Himeko's words only seemed to make Reiko shrank smaller in her seat. "But-"

Himeko clicked her tongue, about to speak, but Nanase interjected. "Try this, Rei-chan. If you get nervous about your announcement then just talk to me and Hime-chan." She explained, tapping the collar of her shirt. "The microphones under our clothes will pick up the sound easily, so just explain your announcement to us and pretend the cameras aren't even there."

Reiko paused for a moment, looking around the room and the several staff members listening in. Each one gave nods and thumbs up at Nanase's idea, and Amano quickly nodded. "Y-Yeah! I can do that!"

Nanase smiled. Himeko rolled her eyes, filling a small cup with sake before passing it to Reiko. "Here runt, drink it."

Reiko looked down at the drink, her eyes wide, then looked to Himeko, confused.

"Hime-chan, Rei-chan is undera-"

Himeko waved Nanase off again. "I had my first drink at fifteen, you had yours at thirteen." She gestured to Reiko. "Look at her, Nanana. She needs something hard in her system to get through this." Himeko turned her head to Reiko. "Go on runt, down it in one go."

"Hime-chan, she's not like u-"

"Two minute folks, let's move it!"

The last of the scene was soon set. The projector was set, the kotatsu was proper placed, and all staff were behind the cameras, either working with the lighting or quietly presenting cue cards.

It was time to get to work.

"One minute, Taishuya-san."

"Got it." At last, Himeko went to her seat, right in the middle of the large room and table. Nanase to her right, Reiko to her left. "Alright girls, Nanana'll do most of the talking for the intro, the the runt'll explain her stuff after that, then I'll take over from there."

"Yes ma'am."

"And our guest is sitting next to the runt when it's their turn."

Both girls nodded.

"Alright!" Himeko clapped her hands together one last time, bring the entire staff to attention. "We ready?"

Himeko, looked to Nanase, who nodded. She then turned to Reiko, who was still staring at her glass of sake with wide eyes. Apparently she didn't down it yet. Oh well. Didn't really think she'd actually-

Then, with a sharp breath, Reiko picked up the glass as if it was a heavy weight before reeling her head back and taking in the small amount of hard alcohol in one gulp.

"... ... ..."

"... ... ..."

The entire room was silent for a moment as Reiko's head hung back. "Uh, runt y-"

In a swift motion, Reiko slammed her glass down, a hard yet dizzy expression on her face, as if she took in foul medicine. "Let's goooo!" Reiko pumped a fist to the air, silence only following the little Demon's warcry.

Then laughter, followed by a few quiet cheers.

"Hmhmhm~ Yes, let's." With another chuckle, Nanase rose her fist in turn, bumping it against Reiko's.

"... ... ... ..." Both girls stared at Himeko now. Expectant. Waiting.

"Heh, you idiots..." Himeko cracked a smile, shaking her head. "The things I fucking do with you dumbasses..."
