Between Rounds - LWS 2017 Interview - Wendy Thomas interviews Melody Serperior!

We cut backstage where none other than Wendy Thomas herself is standing by with a microphone in her hand and a smile on her face!

"Hello LAW fans! It's me again, Wendy Thomas, and what a night of action it's been so far! The first round served us some sizzling knock outs and heaping amounts of action! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, because this second round is shaping up to be quite the spicy item! Speaking of which, joining me right now is one of the women you'll see in the second round, the lovely emerald warrior Melody Serperior!"

With the first round of the tournament behind her, Melody planned to simply go to the doctor's, check that everything was alright (especially after Anzu's hard Curbstomp to her head, which regardless what happens, she'll definitely feel in the morning), go home, and then sleep for the next 6 days until next weeks show...

But, a highly ranked official in LAW asked her to head to a nearby empty area in the LAW arena, to be interviewed by Wendy Thomas about the tourney, today's match, and second round. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes, the suit clad official said. Nodding, Melody agreed to go do the interview, before heading towards the locker room to get changed.

After standing near the interview set up for less than 2 minutes, Wendy Thomas would call Melody to join her. Being her cue, she walked into the shot of the camera, smiling a pleasent smile at Wendy (liking the "emerald warrior" nickname she gave her), and nodded at the interviewess.

"Thank you for having me, Wendy"

Wendy would smile back, both at Melody’s politeness and quite simply how hot she was up close.

“Melody, congratulations on your victory over Prism Girl. After such a hard fought victory, how do you feel? Were you expecting Prism Girl to put up such a spirited fight?”

Getting on a bit more of a serious expression on her face, Melody paused for a second, quickly collecting her thoughts before speaking:

"I know that the joke around LAW's fanbase is that Anzu is "the resident jobber" of the company. But looks, and win records, can be decieving. Considering Anzu was looking for a solid win for a while now, I want to say "Yes, I did"...but it would be an outright lie if I said I didn't expect her to outright cave my head into the ground with that curbstomp...going to be feeling that for a few days...or weeks..."

“Well... you better hope that curb stomp hasn’t shaken you too much, like one of our delicious Frosties, because you will be facing some stiff competition in the next round! You will be facing one of the most popular stars in LAW today, Katherine Hart, who is coming out from a tough battle against Susanna Kin! Tell me, how will you be going into that match next week?”

Melody giggled at Wendy's product placement, but her laugh disappeared in an instant after Ms Thomas name dropped Melody's next opponent.

She heard that a particular woman she knew from another company was in LAW...but she didn't see the tournament bracket, and didn't know the names of other competitors due to that...

As such, she looked for a few moments at Wendy, before finally opening her mouth:

"Wh-ho is my opponent in the next round?"

Wendy would tilt her head. She was sure she said the name quite clearly.

“Umm... Katherine Hart,”

"I....I...'gulp'...I see...."

She immediately felt sick at her stomach. Her head flooded back with memories of the I Quit match between the mentioned luchadora and her best friend Navi...she hoped...prayed...that she wouldn't cross the pass of Katherine Hart again...but here they were.

Whatever Wendy asked in the next 10 seconds, Melody didn't hear. There were too many thoughts in her head to even try and answer a question during the interview...

Remembering where she was however, Melody felt she needed to take a leave from this interview: "I-I am...sorry to cut this short...but I have to go...", she would say, her gaze not even connecting with the interviewers as she swiftly left the room, needing to go to the nearest bathroom she could find...
