New Years love.

Yusuke felt her arm loving arms go around his waist and it gave him a giant smile. He had his eyes glued to her face not leaving it for a second. Then she said””It's almost like...like...you really like me” He chuckled before leaning his head on her’s and said”I do Yukino…. I… love… you…” He said quietly finally letting his true feelings before giving the white haired idol a proud and passionate kiss on the lips.

It was right at that moment that, for Yukino, everything stopped.

Did...did she really hear that right? Did Yusuke just say that he...loved her?

Her eyes went wide, her face pale. Her heart was beating so hard she could practically feel every thump that echoed in her chest. Her jaw dropped open in a silent gasp, and for just a moment she was transfixed right where she stood. She couldn't work up the mind to move - not when every thought running through her head could only focus on what was happening right now; on what she was hearing from the boy who had occupied her thoughts for years now. It felt like a dream - like it was too good to be true. This was the sort of thing Yukino had been hoping she would one day hear, but that she never thought she would. And now, it had just come true.

"You...you do..?" Yukino's words could only come in a whisper, halfway silenced under her breath. As the initial shock passed, a million thoughts went through her head. Why did Yusuke like her? What did he see in her? Was she worth it? Was he really so sure she wouldn't just be a disappointment? Where did she go now; could she handle the pressure of struggling to be sure that the boy she'd always had eyes for wouldn't feel let down by her? Could she live up to his expectations when he loved her too?

But Yukino didn't let any of those thoughts bother her for long. Soon, Yusuke came closer, moving in to kiss her - and the moment their lips met, Yukino let out a long sigh and sank in against him, letting her body go slack. She couldn't care about any of that now - and soon, all those worries and doubts melted away. She had her just seen lifelong dream come true. She could be happy with that.

Yusuke heard her wonders of why he would love her, but that didn’t matter. Soon enough Yukino was in his arms with her head against his chest and he said”I love you Yukino because, despite your shyness and doubt, you always push yourself for your friends and for your wellbeing how could I do not?” Then as if on cue the fireworks would go off signaling the new year had belong”happy New Years Yukino Fuyumi” He said gently wanting her to look up at the beautiful sky covered with fireworks.

Yukino's inner doubts and anxieties told her to question everything she was hearing - to insist she wasn't worthy, to tell Yusuke that he was wasting his time. After all, she thought, there were plenty of girls in the world who would be happy to have someone like him in their lives, and he didn't need to settle for her. But he wanted her. Everything felt so perfect, so much like a dream, that Yukino wanted to believe it was a dream - that there was no way she'd ever have something like this.

But as soon as she was in Yusuke's arms, she no longer wanted to question anything. As long as she was with him...she could be sure it'd all work out all right. She was all right. When she heard the softness and care in his voice, Yukino knew she had no reason to doubt anything. He could only be speaking from the heart, and he meant every word.

Now, when she looked up at him, Yukino smiled. She nodded her head in agreement to every word and every thought, and at last, she could feel at peace. As long as she could count on Yusuke...it'd be okay. She settled against his side, burying her face against the fabric of his kimono as she let out a contented sigh. Now, she could feel like everything was as it should be.

In fact, Yukino had settled so much into the bliss of the moment that she had forgotten about the fireworks - up until the first volley went up over the horizon! As she heard the bursts of gunpowder echo through the air, she jumped up with a gasp, letting the colored lights wash over her. Her eyes followed the trails of the fireworks with rapt attention. As she thought about it more, her smile grew wider and wider - especially hearing what Yusuke had to say. It was true. The new year had begun.

"Yeah...and I got to spend the first few seconds of it in your arms..." She turned her head up to look back at Yusuke, and her smile only grew wider the longer her gaze lingered. She could feel a blush running to her cheeks, but she knew what she had to say. It was on her mind, and surely it was on Yusuke's as well. The only thing left was for her to make it official.

After what felt like an eternity, she spoke. This time, there was no hesitation. In the clarity of the moment, with all that had happened, Yukino knew her purpose, and the words fell from her mouth as naturally as breathing. "Yusuke, I...love you, too..."

Yusuke smiled hearing that the white haired girl was happy with spending her first minutes of the new year with him. Once she spoke the blue haired boy had a gentle look on his face”Thank you I have something for you” He let go of Yukino to grab a box and said”open it” He said and once Yukino did it would reveal a sword”I took kendo training when I was going and my father told me that once I found a girl I loved and if she loved me I give her this as a token of our love, I know it sounds cheesy but even so” Yusuke said calmly abeit smirking when he got to the cheesy part of the story, but it was still a sign of his love for the winter idol.

When Yukino looked out on the horizon, the tears began to twinkle in her eyes. Now, she knew, she was looking into the future - a bright future, a future full of potential. Now she'd finally admitted it; she'd gotten it off her chest. At last, she had made it known that she loved Yusuke. And what was more, now, she knew that he agreed. It brought a blush to her face to think about it, but Yukino knew that now they could take the next steps forward, those first steps of the new year, together. She never thought the day would come; truth be told, the thought still flustered her. But it was what she had always wanted, and she wasn't going to turn back - not from this.

It was then that Yusuke unveiled another gift for Yukino, and at this, the white-haired girl let out a gasp, her eyes drifting down toward the box. She couldn't imagine what would be in it - how did Yusuke have this ready for her, she wondered? Did he know she'd be here? The questions ran through her mind, but she wouldn't linger on them for too long. She was too excited to see what would await her inside; surely, if Yusuke had it in mind for her, it had to be something special.

She certainly wasn't expecting to find a sword inside. Yukino would never begin to imagine what she could do with a sword. But that was a question for her to work out later. For now, she was too captivated by its beauty, watching her reflection in the sheen of its blade. Her wide eyes ran over the surface, and her jaw dropped in a gasp. And when she heard Yusuke tell her the story behind it, she looked back up at him with a smile on her face. That made it all the more special - all the more important.

"No, Yusuke...you don't need to get upset about that. I don't think it's cheesy at all. I think...I think it's beautiful, that you wanted to keep your father's wishes alive after all these years. And if you wanted to give this to me, then..." She leaned in closer, her hands on Yusuke's chest as she looked up into his eyes. "Then that means so much more than you could ever imagine..."

Yusuke didn’t know what she would think of when she opened it. Would she think it’s too dangerous to give someone when they fall in love? Or are swords not her interest? His fears where immediately away as she was in love by the beauty of the blade. She soon talked about his story which caused Yusuke to blush”thank you, my father will love you when I introduce him to you properly” The artist said as he put his palm on her cheek. He could tell she was in love and hearing how much the present meant made Yusuke happier then ever”Yukino, as I am aware you have a tag match for belts and an apex match correct? If so could you take this for your entrance?” He asked with a tilt of the head wondering if the company would allow her to bring it down to the ring just for show.

Already, he was talking about introducing her to his family? Everything seemed to be happening so quickly, Yukino honestly found it overwhelming. She squeezed her eyes shut as her face went red, turning to look away. But at the same time, she couldn't possibly be offended, or discouraged. She knew what all of this meant - that Yusuke cared about her so deeply and so honestly that he wanted to do all he could to show his dedication. And when it was all for her...it was the greatest honor she could imagine. "I can't wait to meet him..." she mused - and, although her voice was soft and her face flushed hotter with each word, Yukino meant everything.

Then, Yusuke brought up what lay in Yukino's future. It was true that a couple of big matches were just on the horizon for the Idol Dragons. It wasn't long ago that they had been confronted by Irish Oldschool in a passionate speech that led to a rematch between the rival teams being declared for We Are LAW, with the WOWW Tag Team Championships in the balance. But before that, she had her match at Apex - a match that would see her take on Nashi, her own best friend and tag partner, thanks to Kira Kusangi's stipulations. As much as Yukino was intimidated by the thought of taking part in such big shows- especially if she would have to face Nashi - she was encouraged as well to see her career taking off. She knew this was the culmination of all her efforts to date, and she had pledged to give it her all. Now, it seemed, Yusuke had learned of such plans in his time in LAW. And it seemed that he wanted to do what he could in her support.

With a gasp, Yukino looked back up at him. She could hardly believe, after all the time she'd spent pining for him, and all the time she was sure he barely knew she existed, that he wanted to contribute to one of her biggest moments in LAW. But the gaping look on her face soon turned to an eager smile, and she nodded her head. As unbelievable as it was, she wanted to hold onto the dream and never let go.

"Of course I would," she said. "Believe me, Yusuke, I can't begin to describe how much of an honor this is to have your trust in me...and I promise I won't let it down!"
