Breathe in, hold, breathe out, repeat. This occupied Kate's mind as she stood backstage waiting for the signal from the crew. She did not remember the last time she was this nervous before the match... well, she did, and it was exactly against Alizeh she fought then too. She got much better at managing that sort of thing in the time since, but somehow this match had her nerves frazzled. She would have expected to be, if anything, calmer than usual. She knew Alizeh better than she could know anyone else she could be facing, and that included her fighting, and she knew they'd mesh well in the ring, but till then, she had nothing but her thoughts as company.

The last time she was in this position, she had her future in LAW riding on that match, and though she did get signed in the end, it was after a loss. Since then, they both fought for titles, but Kate only got one shot when Alizeh was up for the task twice against Kyoko and once more against Astrid. As if that was not enough to wake her doubts, Kate herself was not as often in the ring as she used to. In the wake of her popularity booming, she had a lot of opportunities outside of LAW open to her, and though it meant she fought just as often as she did here, it was a different sport when she put on the gloves or entered the cage. Meanwhile, Alizeh stayed focused on wrestling.

It felt both overwhelming and silly; she was intimidated by her own fiancé, there was sure to be a joke to make about that, but it escaped her.
Breathe in, hold, breathe out. She just had to make it to the ring and to the bell after, after the match starts, she would be fine... maybe.
She didn't hear the staff prompting her to go, but she did hear the music

"Falling too fast to prepare for this"

Kate

Flash of purple, bursting onto the stage in a cloud of smoke. Hold

"I was born to run. I was born for this!"

Breathe out.
She opened her eyes, fist already raised high, cheers from the crowd drowning out the music, bringing a faint smile on her face as she broke into a run sprinting down the ramp to then jump on top of the apron, grabing the ropes and using the momentum she had to swing over the top, freezing for a second right at the apex of the turn before her feet met the ground and she seemlesly transitioned to a walk. Taking a few steps before turning, pointing at the entrance, after which she brought her fist to her lips, giving it a kiss and sending a salut before her back came to rest on the ropes. This was all that mattered now.

Alizeh took a deep in preparation for the match ahead of her tonight. A big one, maybe the biggest of her life so far. Only unlike other big matches for her recently, this one had no title implications, no big shot against a heated rival, nor was it under the main event spotlight. So you may think to yourself why so important? Well for one simple reason. It was a match against her fiance.

The last match they'd have before getting married in a few months, and as a result it meant a lot to both of them. Of course the fans were able to get in on it as well, both those that shipped them and were into their relationship, admittedly sometimes to a unhealthy level, as well as the actual fans of this business. After all the first match between Alizeh and Kate had been deemed an instant classic by almost everyone, and some even considered it a show stealer... So naturally people were looking forward to seeing them tango once again when their relationship and skills had evolved so much, when they were both significantly different people than they were before.

Most of all though... this match was important to Kate, for her confidence, for her ability to see herself as a fighter, and as an equal to her. Frankly Alizeh thought it was a bit silly that Kate still doubted herself in comparison to herself, but she knew better than to talk Kate out of her head, no the best thing to do would be to fight her as she wanted. With everything she had, otherwise Kate wouldn't accept anything else.

Rolling her neck Alizeh would nod to herself in the mirror before turning and exiting the locker room, walking with a pep in her step until she got to the entrance curtain, waiting for a few moments as the lights outside went dark and a crack of thunder rung out for all to hear before finally Alzeh's entrance music started, green lights with arching orange strobes going off and even the inclusion of fireworks going off as a result as Alizeh made her entrance!

Coming out from the back and posing in her new grey and gold and orange hybrid attire Alizeh would smile and pose for the fans who cheered and wolf whistled as a result for Alizeh. Granted it was something she was used too, but tonight...she couldn't help but feel a bit off about it... Like she didn't want the crowd on her side, on the contrary she wanted them on Kate's side, really all she could hope for was that they remained even for both as the match went on.

Whatever the case Alizeh wouldn't dwell on it for long before she began to make her way down the ramp, putting a confident smile on her face as she did so, very intentionally swaying her hips as she moved. Upon nearing the ring she would climb up onto the apron with catlike grace before pulling herself up and over the ropes and into the ring proper now facing her beloved. Smiling wide Alizeh would approach the center of the ring whilst holding her hand out to Kate. "If you feel brave enough!" Alizeh would call out teasingly but if Kate did indeed approach and grab her hand then Alizeh would quickly pull Kate in for a massive kiss on the lips! Complete with Alizeh grabbing her girlfriend's back and leg and dipping her like the princess she was. ~

Kate could not wrap her head around how Alizeh managed to make her feel like she was falling in love all over again every time she saw her, not that she really wanted to know; she was just fine enjoying that feeling. However, in a manner typical for herself, seeing the crowd's reaction to Alizeh again stirred doubt. How could she compare? In a way, she felt that she herself was riding on her fiancé's back. Sure, fans loved her, but how much of that was thanks to Alizeh and not just her? How far could the awkward bruiser image carry her, especially now that the charm of said awkwardness was fading? She cursed herself for letting those thoughts take root, shaking her head to refocus just in time to see Alizeh enter the ring.

She smiled as she saw Alizeh offer her a hand, raising her eyebrow a little, but still she stepped forward. There was a trick to it to be sure, but she was down to play along with Alizeh's kind of trick, besides she could use some of that to distract from her thoughts running rampant. No sooner did she think that, taking Alizeh's hand, than she felt that sinking feeling in her gut as if she was falling, just for a second though, before her body realized she was held, and moreover, took note of the soft lips locking with her own, she alowed herself to melt into the kiss, wrapping her arms around Alizeh.

It could not be said, however, that Alizeh did not rub off on Kate in the time they were together, and it was only right that she repaid such a trick with one of her own. She would hold Alizeh close, twisting her upperbody to tip the weight and push of with her planted leg to effectivly get the woman in the air, turning as she went into an improvised hiptoss but instead of actually delivering on it, she would make sure to land on one knee, holding her lover in her armms off the ground before gently setting her down, maintaining the kiss for a second longer. "Tsk, tsk, tsk... Trying to claim the prize already? You'll have to put in a bit more work for that~" She'd tease while looking down at Alizeh, before then sitting up, and offering her a hand to help the other woman out and giving her a look before looking to the side at the audience, which, judging from the whistles, enjoyed that preshow. Then, once they were both on their feet, she would lean in to give a last quick peck on Alizeh's cheek before going to her corner "Best of luck" Throwing behind her as she got ready for the bell to ring!
