Family Reunion

Today was going to be quite the day for Alaina. She was closing in on what may be the biggest match of her LAW career given the shared history between she and Kat. Alaina was meeting up with her younger cousin Sophia who decided to follow Alaina's footsteps into the ring. So far so good, Alaina had followed her career and Sophia had made a splash as an independent wrestler. She was happy to see her sign a big-time contract in LAW, as far as Alaina was concerned she deserved it.

Alaina was clad in an orange bikini and sunglasses as she made her way to the pool. She was a little early and didn't want to keep Sophia waiting for her. The amazon sat down and began to relax taking a break from her kids who were showing every single sign of being on the verge of becoming teenagers. Instead of endless energy it seemed like endless attitude. She had no clue how Charlie kept up with that on a daily basis. Soon though, she knew it would be her right alongside him as well. Within the next couple years at least, not imminent she told herself. Soon enough though she would be able to help clear her own mind and catch up with Sophia.

Today was going to be a good day for Sophia. While she did have to prepare for her upcoming bout with Danny. That being said however, today Sophia would get the spend the whole day with not just her personal hero who inspired her to become a pro wrestler but also her favorite aunt, Alaina Sanders-Haines. Ever since Sophia started her indie career in college to her being in The Shadow Fortress to her indie tour of winning title after title she's finally in the same promotion as her and even better they agreed to spend time together while in Malta the week before the Rome event at Fight the LAW.

As such Sophia was a bit giddy with excitement to catch up with Alaina as she walked out to the pool area with a bit of pep in her step wearing a gold shiny bikini that made sure to show off her impressive figure. However, once she spotted Alaina, she chuckled having an idea in her head as she began to walk more slower in a more causal way until she was right behind Alaina."Ahem...." Sophia raised her hand up in front of her mouth and did a fake cough to get her attention and if she did she would lower her arm down and place both hands on her hips."Excuse me, I'm looking for a family member have you seen her?" Sophia added on going into a more serious tone asking a rhetorical question. Obviously, she knew it was Alaina in front of her, but Sophia hasn't seen her in what felt like forever so why not playfully tease her as Sophia kept a tight focus on her wanting to see Alaina's reaction to how much muscle she's put on since the last time they've met.

Alaina was waiting and she sipped on a drink enjoying the quiet. However she heard a voice from behind her and turned. Alaina's face lit up and she stood up, wrapping her arms around Sophia. "Hey there! How have you been?" Alaina asked before she quickly rattled off questions. "It has been too long, how have you been? You have gotten so big, I love it! What is your workout routine like? Are you seeing anyone? I've seen your matches, you have been doing amazing in the indies, I bet you do great here in LAW!" Alaina said speaking a mile a minute.

Sophia had long been awaiting this day and as such she wanted to make an impression given her impressive bulk and size. That being said she wasn't excepting the reaction her aunt gave her. When Sophia approached her, she tried to play it up acting stoic sending a smirk down to her before feeling her aunt's arms wrapped around her which she returned hugging her tightly."It's good to see you too Alaina and thanks."Sophia smiled embracing her aunt as well appreciating the compliment she made about her size. That was all before Alaina started asking fifty questions a second which made the superhero taking a step back trying to think of something to say. "Geez and I thought I was giddy with excitement." Sophia teased giving her aunt a pat on the shoulder before sitting down to answer all of Alaina's questions.

Well Alaina it's quite simple on how I got these guns over the years." She raised her arms up to flex to show off a bit."I do basic weight lifting, alongside going out for a run, sit up, pushups, running from one side to the other in the ring, the usual stuff basically." She said listing off everything she does for working out in a friendly way and whenever she brought up a new thing she would raise a finger to recount all of them. Then came the question of if she was seeing anyone in particular which made the blonde blush trying to think of what to say. "Well it's complicated. I want a boyfriend but is it weird to say I want a date a guy who can beat me?" Sophia asked speaking in a lower tone of voice as she rubbed her hands together nervously and even looking down having her eyes look to the side feeling embarrassed on the subject.

Alaina listened and nodded as Sophia was catching up to her barrage of questions. Alaina shrugged at the end and looked at Sophia. "I mean it is all up to you. If that is one of the things you are looking for then go for it! This is the right place for that I think, the male roster has expanded a lot the past couple years. Maybe there are a few fella's you can get booked against like some crazy wrestling match date?" Alaina asked looking over at Sophia.

Sophia admittedly was a bit worried about admitting this to her aunt. I mean it's not every day you tell someone that you want to date a guy who can not only go toe to toe with you in the ring but also beat you. Sophia didn't know how her aunt would respond so she prematurely closed her eyes shaking, fearing what she would say. Then she heard the first sentence of what Alaina said and began to open her eyes slowly with her body being more relaxed. Alaina didn't think Sophia's type of guy was weird in the slightest. If anything, it seemed like which did make her nervousness go away and Sophia started to smile with a light blush. What did catch her eye the most was what Alaina said at the end, with a playful smirk Sophia leaned forward from her chair keeping her eyes peeled to Alaina."Oh... does this mean you're going to set up a match for me to meet my future husband?" She laughed playfully patting her on the shoulder before easing back into her chair. "If that ever happens you'll need to find the best man in the world okay?" She added on reaching down to grab her drink to start taking sips of it.

Alaina a shrugged and looked over at Sophia. "I will see what I can do, no promises. If I do try setting up a date in the ring whoever you wrestle will be screened by everyone before choosing your date match opponent." Alaina said as she laid back in her chair.

"It will be tough watching that match though. You are making a big splash and Danny fi ally got the recognition for a PPV match. But... I am kinda rooting for Danny, he has been like a son to us since he lived with us. Sorry." Alaina said with a small grin forming. She knew in a family matchup she shouldn't play favorites but given the situation Danny was in growing up she had a soft spot for him.

While Sophia was merely making a joke about the insane idea of Alaina playing match maker but in the wrestling ring, it seemed like her aunt took it seriously. Quickly Sophia raised her arms up defensively with a light blush and embarrass look taking over as she waved her arms back and forth frantically. "Hey, Hey I was just kidding around don't worry about it Alaina. I was just kidding around." Sophia spoke with urgency wanting to make sure Alaina didn't get the wrong idea about her comments before Alaina brought up her upcoming match against none other but Danny. "Phew..." Sophia let out a light sigh of relief as she slowly sat back into her chair resting her arms down on the arm rest paying attention to whatever Alaina had to say.


That was until Alaina mentioned how she was rooting for Danny to win over her..... "Uh....' Sophia breathed out as her mouth was left hanging open as her eyes looked up in a shocked yet sad expression as what Alaina said felt like a stab right in her very heart. Of course, Sophia can understand why Alaina would have a bias for Danny but to outright say it only after a minute or two upon finally catching up with each other did nothing but leave an empty hole in Sophia's chest. Ever since she was a little girl Sophia had nothing but admiration for Alaina and wanted to become a pro wrestler like she did. Even asking her for tips and tricks when she started out back in college and now to finally be in the same company as her only for her to say that left Sophia... sad. "I see...." Sophia let out as all she could do was hang her head low not being able to look Alaina in the eye after hearing that statement. She could get mad and storm off but what would that accomplish? Nothing. So, all Sophia could do was sit there and ponder as a small and gentle tear came strolling down her body as she looked down at the ground.

Alaina looked over at Sophia and tilted her head. "What's wrong?" Alaina asked. Sure she and Sophia were family but she raised Danny for over half his life at this point. She didn't think it was a controversial take to want to see her nephew turned adopted son win. "I thought hearing that would motivate you not turn you into a tear factory." Alaina said patting her on the shoulder. "You are an amazing wrestler and given your indie career you are the favorite to win. He has way less experience in the ring at this level. He is the underdog with the uphill battle." Alaina said. "His little heart would break if he heard me say that you were the favorite to beat him and for good reason." She added hoping that her analytical assessment helped smooth things over a bit.

As Sophia sat there in a bit of a sad state it wouldn't take long for it to be broken as she heard Alaina call out to her. "Yes,...?" Sophia muttered as she raised her head to look at Alaina dead in the eyes not knowing what to say to her, that was until Alaina opened her mouth again. "Really...?" Sophia asked softy as she was left perplex thinking to herself. "Was Alaina testing me all along?" She thought to herself before snapping back to reality as she felt her aunt patting her on the shoulder for confront as she listened to Alaina's analytical assessment about her."You really think I'm amazing...?" Sophia muttered softly as while it was true it was very common for family members to give praise to each other, but hearing the woman who made her want to be a pro wrestler ever since she was in elementary school call her amazing really meant a lot as a tiny tear of happiness came down her face.


However, as Alaina began to speak Danny's situation it all made sense to her as Alaina was right about difference between them. Sophia was a champion across America, Japan, Europe and even Mexico while Danny is a coach who rarely wrestles so it seems like Sophia has the advantage in all of this. Sophia merely let out a sigh as she laid back in her chair down putting her arms down again. "I'm sorry Alaina... I understand why you said that now. It's just..." Sophia apologized for how she acted before cutting herself off staring into space recalling all the times she and Danny wrestled as children. "It's just ever since Danny and I were kids he would always beat me. No matter how many trophies I won Danny would still always beat me... and it got to me. Apart of me thought for a while it was because I'm a girl that's why I could never beat him....." Sophia added on being reminded of the bad memories she had of losing to Danny and her mental state because of it letting it all out to Alaina."When you lost to men when you started out... did it feel discouraging like you weren't strong enough...?" Sophia added on asking Alaina a bit awkwardly with Sophia shaking a bit.
