When in... Malta? (Feat. Kai and Hazel)

Taking off and landing were always the worst parts of a flight, but they made it.

Hazel and Kai had just gotten off the plane in Malta. Sure, this trip may have been for a LAW pay-per-view, but in a way, it was like a vacation for Hazel and maybe Kai as well. The amazing climate, history, and environment of the Mediterranean, getting to experience it with the woman she loved, to the Scotswoman it was heaven!

Hazel looked back, seeing Kai slightly behind her as they reached the gate. Getting to the gate, Hazel stepped for a moment and standing off to the side near the sets, giving her girlfriend a chance to catch up as she adjusted the LAWLESS title she carried on her shoulder. The moment Kai caught up, Hazel would slide next to the woman, grabbing and holding her hand, smiling as she simply enjoyed the woman's company. The entire Mediterranean did always seem like a perfect country for couples as much as France was. Maybe Hazel could sneak in a trip to Venice with Kai before they went back to Japan, but that would be after the show and for their own personal enjoyment.

Hazel took a deep breath as the couple walked towards the baggage area, her title serving as a constant reminder that this wasn't actually a vacation, and tomorrow her body was likely going to go through hell in her first hardcore defense, but at least they had the rest of the day to each other. Reaching the baggage area, Hazel noticed her suitcase almost immediately and let Kai's hand go in order to grab it.

Setting her bag down on the floor, Hazel opened it, putting the title inside. "Let's just make it about us today," Hazel said, looking up at her girlfriend as she zipped her bag back up and approached her girlfriend, putting her hand on the woman's cheek, almost getting lost as she stared into the woman's blue eyes.

To say Kai was going through lots of culture shock was a vast understatement. It’s not like Kai was uneducated or unaware of other cultures, but Japan has been most of her life except for any bookings that caused her to go to America, Europe, or Mexico. She’s basically the equivalent of someone who never goes outside their comfort zone, but that all changes when Hazel is by her side. Kai wasn’t scheduled to appear on Fight The LAW, but she was more here as moral support for Hazel, who had a brutal hardcore match coming up and it was even the main event. Kai felt both nervous and excited for her girlfriend. On one hand, Hazel’s stock gets raised even further and she’s being put in a much bigger spotlight than ever before, but on the other hand, Hazel can easily find herself in a hospital room the next few days. The latter option might happen whether she wins or loses.

Kai couldn’t get down on Hazel’s luck as she knew Hazel had brute strength and tenacity for herself. Her opponent may have been trained by THE Clara Gaster, but Hazel has stood up to worse and even faced Alania Sanders. Kai just didn’t want Hazel getting reckless and risk vacating that title due to injury. They got out of the gate and ended up at the baggage claim as Hazel grabbed her suit case. Kai also scooped up her purple gym bag and her navy blue suit case as she figured maybe Hazel would want to train up for her match tomorrow. She was also reminded by Hazel that this was as much private time for them as it was for LAW.

“Right. Private time for us. I’m just really nervous for you tomorrow. I’ll leave it be until then, but promise me you won’t kill yourself out there,” Kai stated as she looked up at Hazel concerned as her purple sports coat sagged on her shoulders.

Hazel's mind was almost always on her career, but since she met Kai, she had someone to share the success and her life with, so it didn't have to be all work and pain now. There was love, fun, someone to care for, and someone to do the same for her. Kai was clearly concerned for tomorrow; truthfully, somewhere in her mind, Hazel was as well, but like she said, it was about herself and Kai today.

"You smell nice" Hazel complimented, trying to ease Kai's nerves before addressing her girlfriend's concerns. "I know you're worried, but I've worked for this, and I can take the pain that's going to come from it" Hazel said, referring to the title in her bag as her thumb stroked Kai's cheek. Hazel would suddenly step forward, pressing her chest against Kai's as she brought her lips to the Japanese woman's for a kiss. "Mmmm" Hazel moaned lightly into the kiss before pulling her head back, smiling as she stared into Kai's eyes.

Kai was surprised by Hazel leaning in for the kiss and widened her eyes before slowly sinking into the embrace. Kai is pretty much a worry wart and like Hazel, Kai was always prepping herself for the next match or tournament to participate in. Spending days on end lifting iron and training with her mother so being intimate with someone else, especially with her reputation of legitimately hurting people to get herself ahead, was a little more than foreign to her. She was always afraid of letting people in her life and lost her way of thinking. Freestyle wrestling was able to turn her confidence back on and allowed her to return to the spotlight under a brand new reformed image. At least with Hazel, those days were done and never returning.

“I just met you, babe. I don’t want to see your career come to a sharp end. It would literally kill me seeing you sad about giving things up over one volatile match. I guess I should have more confidence in you, but my own past trauma of being brutal to opponents gets the better of me,” Kai replied as she hugged Hazel for comfort.

Truthfully, Hazel wished she had made that kiss last a little longer, especially to give Kai more time to relax and enjoy it, but they were in public and it was best to behave though it was definitely not going to be the last time the two would be affectionate in public. The Scotswoman knew decently about Kai's past, and truthfully Kai seemed more afraid of it than Hazel was. The Scotswoman loved Kai for who she is, not who she was, people changed, improved, and the Kai Hazel knew was a wonderful woman, a great fighter, and someone she loved.

So when Kai once again showed worry, not only about Hazel's upcoming match but her own past, Hazel returned the hug a bit tight. "I know you're worried, but I'm going to make sure we are both celebrating tomorrow night" Hazel replied with before her voice turned to a low whisper. "Then we can see about making our next encounter in the ring more official" Hazel whispered, letting Kai know she wanted to wrestle her in an actual match sooner or later before releasing her hug and stepping back "But until then. Lead the way babe" Hazel said with a small smile, reaching her hand out playfully for Kai to grab.

Kai was just getting herself worked up and she had her girlfriend there to ensure everything was going to be just fine. She had to try to relax. The match was tomorrow and even then, it was happening late into the night so she should just enjoy her time with Hazel. Otherwise, she’ll overthink everything and potentially annoy Hazel. Kai nodded and put on a confident smile taking Hazel’s hand as she put her gym bag over her shoulder. Kai also grabbed the handle to her suit case before they made their way out of the airport and Kai started flagging down a taxi. A taxi cab showed up minutes before as an Italian man in his late 30s got out offering to help tuck in the couple’s suitcases as he popped his trunk.

Hazel and Kai went outside the airport, and the entire walk, Hazel thought of the surprise she had for Kai in her bag, a couple of new outfits to show her, including one that she was going to experience first and was probably going to be the only one who got to. It only took a minute or two to wave down a taxi. Hazel smiled and shook her head at the driver's offer to help them with their bags. "I got it" Hazel said as she lifted her suitcase into the trunk before grabbing Kai's and putting it next to hers. Hazel would smile at Kai for a second before walking to the rear left passenger seat and getting in the cab, waiting for Kai to get in the cab and give there destination.

Kai got in the other side and sat next to Hazel getting her seatbelt on as she sighed to herself. She looked over at her girlfriend before managing a smile and looking at the driver as he started to put the cab in motion.

“Our stop is two blocks away from here. I’m not sure the actual building name, but it’s a big white building that looks like a hotel,” Kai stated as she sat back to enjoy the ride.

As the cab began to move and Kai gave the driver the directions, Hazel leaned towards Kai, resting her head on her girlfriend's shoulder while her hand moved to her thigh, gently rubbing it while smiling, enjoying the moment and the day. Sure this trip was for business, but she intended to have some fun with Kai on it, even having a surprise for her waiting inside of her suitcase along with her wrestling attire, but that could wait until they got to the hotel room and were settled in a little bit more.
