Kate turned towards the entrance as the next opponent was announced, prior ones simply came up to challenge her, but it's been going on for a decent while, so it wasn't hard to imagine someone could cobble up a proper entrance... Except nobody came. Kate was almost ready to poke fun at that to further stir whoever else might be considering the challenge. Then she got turned, grabbed, and her head connected with the shoulder of her new opponent on the way down with an RKO that had her flop to her back right after from the impact!

Both the audience and the staff were stunned for a moment as the woman posed before moving in for a pin. The referee hesitated, with no match type being picked by the challenger, but got down and started counting.

"One!"

"Two!"

Then Kate kicked out, maybe if not for the time the woman took to pose, that might have been it for the open challenge she issued, but now she was back in the game, turning onto her belly and scrambling to her feet, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "No holds barred, I take it?" She asked between breaths, though she was pretty sure the answer she'd get

Catching Kate with the rko and follow up pin Selket would smirk as she held the woman only to curse softly as the purple haired girl kicked out of the potentially gauntlet ending move. Forced to roll away Selket would sit up with a glare in the direction of Kate as the Combat Wombat then made a joking response about the stipulation. "Sounds fine to me." Selket would respond as she lunged forward, as if to grapple with Kate, only to suddenly lean back as she got close before lifting her leg up and snapping it forward to drive her foot into Kate's jaw with a snap scissor kick!

Kate was readying herself from the moment she got up to get to the fighting proper, but the unexpected RKO left her rattled, and her reaction time was still recovering as Selket rushed at her. She did not take the first bait for a grapple, expecting deception at this point, but as the woman took to the air, she did not expect her to cycle through her legs and kick from the opposite side! As the kick connected, Kate's head was jerked back, her feet struggling to stay under her as she staggered into the ropes.

"Ghhhha!... That's all you've got?" She groned from the strike and shot back after taking a breath, gesturing for the woman to come at her. She was not holding up the best right now, and the taunt was rather obvious, but presenting a confident front could go a long way in those kinds of matches, and either way, she would do well to bide her time for a moment and look for weakness rather than charge head-on in her current state.

Selket smirked as she watched Kate stumble away after taking her kick, right into the ropes which only made the Egyptian woman smirk. "Not even close." Selket said confidently already having the perfect idea on how to continue her assault on the gauntlet taker. Rushing forward Selket raised her arm as if to go for a clothesline on Kate, only to drop down at the last possible second and slide out of the ring behind Kate! As she did so she would grab hold of Kate's legs and pull back suddenly, aiming to send Kate crashing down to the mat face first! If successful at this then Selket would jump up onto the ring apron, grabbing the top rope and then vaulting over it, trying to come down on Kate's back with a double stomp!

With every breath Kate could feel some of her vigour returning, but it was slow, too slow, as once Selket rushed at her, she'd mistake her movement again, letting her slip out of the ring and grab a hold of her leg. Before she could do anything, her feet were quite literally pulled from under her, making her fall face-first onto the ring floor with a thud and a pained groan. She was not, however, stunned enough to just lie there, quickly scooting out of the ring as her opponent took to the air, leaving nothing but the mat for her to hit!

After that, she would return the favour, grabbing the freshly landed woman by her ankles and pulling back, but instead of stopping on getting her floored, she'd pull her further out of the ring, trying to grab a hold of her head and slamming it down against the apron before pulling her back into a knee to the spine!
