"Not as terrifying for you as last time, I presume," Tiki Lowell said as she turned her head towards her protégé and partner: Ivy Aster.
"Thankfully not," Ivy replied. "When we stood here a year ago, God, I was a mess."
"Time does that for you. Especially if you can pair it with the kind of success you've had," Tiki said, referencing Ivy's still spotless record in LAW. Things had been progressing slower than either of them had expected or planned, but what the now established wrestler had been made the face in the past year she had handled with aplomb. That was not meant to change today either. While the Albright Academy did feature the return of Helen, a reputable veteran in her own right, to professional ranks, it had still been years since she had fought. And the reputation of her daughter Ella was that she would get beaten so badly that her leotard ripping off her body was a regular occurrence. This was largely predicted to be an easy victory for the British duo. As the women of Generations waited for their cue, Tiki shifted the topic of conversation, "Niko's been doing really good too. Have you seen the Ombroso match?"
"Yes, I've been following her," said Ivy. "More brutal than I've come to expect of her, to be sure. But I can't say that Ombroso hadn't earned such treatment." Tiki's face twisted a bit at that sentence, though Ivy still had more to say, "Perhaps Niko and I should have a match in the near future."
"Ombroso seemed so sweet in her debut match against Fukuda though," the veteran said. "It's like a different person has been wrestling under her name ever since." Before the Brits could delve any further into the topic, their music began to play. "I'll talk to Niko, but first we fight the Albrights," said Tiki as the two emerged into the arena. Music: Another One Bites The Dust
Ivy's sister Hortensia, as she usually was for her older sister's matches, could be heard screaming her support from the moment she could see her. And as he always was for Ivy's biggest fights, her father Hyacinth was right there next to her. The purplette had long grown past being embarrassed at receiving her sister's love. Now she was proud that it rang out louder than anybody else in the building.
Tiki felt pride as well, for how far Ivy had come in the year they had been partners in LAW. The veteran didn't need confirmation in her skills as a mentor, but she was more than happy to have it nonetheless. Tiki had really wanted to be able to convince Hortensia to stay full-time and train with them until she was old enough to debut herself. With her natural talent, how invested she was in her sister's career, and how often she was in Japan anyways. The thought of Hortensia inheriting the position of Ivy's tag partner from her had been a rather pleasant dream Tiki had dreamt more than once. But the younger Aster had said she was happy pursuing a different life and cheering her sister from the stands.
The two women reached the ring, both stepping in since it was a Tornado match rather than tag. Their music died down, and the began to wait for the Albright Academy. At least until the heard a rather interesting cheer from Hortensia, "IVY! TIKI! CAN YOU GET ME ELLA'S LEOTARD AS A SOUVENIR AFTER IT COMES OFF HER?" Ivy's nerves may be a lot stronger than the were a year ago, but her gremlin of a little sister could still get her red in the face like nobody's business. Both her father and Tiki put a hand to their heads. Tiki to try to stifle a laugh, Hyacinth in exasperation.
