”I see.”

Samira didn’t.

She was trying to. This could be a case of their different backgrounds - where Samira had come from, a win's a win. She had given it her all and came up short. She wasn’t happy about that fact, but that was the fact. Alaina was the winner, plain and simple, only she didn’t seem to think it was that clear cut.

Samira tried to think of it for a few moments, even closing her eyes to try and recall the exact scene. There had been so many things going on in that moment, so many emotions, so many feelings, it was hard to pick at anything specific, like trying recall specific details in a car crash. Everything was a blur. Nothing stuck out. Just pain and rage and confusion.

”I dont know.” She finally gave in and shook her head. ”I honestly do not know. I could tell you one way or that other, but that would be a lie - it’s all just noise.” Her head dropped, defeated. ”I’m sorry.”

"If that is is the truth it is all I can ask for. I just need to go out there and keep beating whoever is sent my way title or not same as before." Alaina said with a smile. She was trying to hide that there was a tiny part of her that still had some nagging doubt about her truly winning.

At 49 years old Alaina sighed and closed her eyes. It was a match going either way against a huge younger, stronger woman.

A win was a win. She would carry on and make sure that nothing in her reign would diminish the championship she held.

"So... what do you do to train usually? I imagine training partners are hard to find for someone as strong as you."

Now that they both had that off their chests, Samira was about ready to head back to her room and lie down. The longer she stayed up, the more things hurt, and while it wasn’t serious quite yet, she knew it wasn’t going to get any easier to drift off to sleep like this. She didn’t want to monopolize Alaina’s time, either. This had been a long day, and they would have many long days to come.

She would stay for a little while longer, though, not wanting to be rude, even though chit-chat was not her specialty. This was already one of the longest conversations she’d had since leaving Somalia with someone who wasn’t her sister.

”I typically train by myself. I could probably find someone my size to work with, but most people tend to assume the worst and give me a wide berth. I’ve come to accept it.” She shrugged, not wanting to make a bigger deal than it was. ”Perhaps it’s time I made a few changes, though.”

"Well my door is open for a woman who wresltes as hard as you! My nephew Dan is a bigger guy almost as big as you and dare I say just as strong! He looks like a store-brand wrestling version of Henry Cavil." Alaina said, not at all realizing that the continued talking was not the Forte of Samira.

"He is engaged though, Irelia is great! She may trian with ya too? Just know she doesn't like ladies messing with Danny and since he is practically my son more than a nephew I need those two to get me some grandkids." Alaina said with a smile.

It was more than a little weird for Samira to be talking like this with…well, anyone. But it was bizarre for her to be doing it with the woman who’d been trying to cave her skull in earlier in the day. Still, she didn’t hate it, and in other circumstances, she wouldn’t have minded indulging in it more. There was a motherly way to Alaina, something kind and caring. In another time, in another world, she could have seen the two of them being good friends. Perhaps there was still time for that.

”I don’t know who Henry Cavil is, but I’ll assume he’s handsome.” The name did sound familiar, but she tended to avoid most modern media, too complicated for her tastes. Older movies were her style - simpler, easier to parse, funnier. Cersei had promised to bring over some James Bond movies from the Sean Connery era for them to watch in the morning, and she was greatly looking forward to it.

”I might just take you up on that. And she wouldn’t have to worry about my flirting, I wouldn’t know the first thing about it.” She started to back up in the wheelchair, awkwardly rolling her way out into the hall. ”I’m going to give you space, but before I go, I just wanted to say: thank you, Alaina. For giving me this chance. It really meant the world to me. It did.”

"I didn't give you anything. You showed up and complied an impressive record here, not just anyone can beat Tina." Alaina said as she laid back in bed. "You earned all of it."

Alaina could see that Samira wanted to leave so she smiled and nodded to her before laying back, feeling like she had no energy again. Did just talking do that to her? She really was banged up. Alaina bid Samira farewell and went back to rest, and would be asleep again within ten minutes of Samira leaving. She was going to have quite a bit of recovery to do before she wrestled again and it would be a long recovery that made Alaina think again that after this title reign her wrestling days may be numbered.
