Kyoko had time to attack, getting close and throwing a punch that Wyvern had scouted enough to place her elbow in to deflect the punch. Only the edge of her knuckles grazed Wyvern's skin and that wasn't doing anything. The Belly Queen would try to turn and attempt another attack but was cut off when Wyvern dipped in closer than before and throwing in a punch that struck Kyoko between the ribs.

"Gagh." Kyoko huffed, feeling her ribs rattle, her breathe briefly catching in her throat before she attempted to move away. Wyvern moved in like a whirlwind after her, dancing to the side and then following that punch with a knee, once again to her ribs but this time to the other side. "Uggh." Kyoko groaned. Once again her ribs were aching as the hits tried to break down her sides and leave her body a mess. The champion continued to stand but right now she was under pressure from the challenger.

Wyvern's fury rises as she continues her merciless assault on Kyoko. She wasn't just winning. She was dominating the match so far, answering every attempted offense by the champion with one of her own, and landing plenty of unchallenged strikes as she did so. Despite the taunts and insults she had slung towards the Belly Queen during the leadup to the match, in truth she had held high expectations of the fight. She had been looking forward to her greatest challenge yet, and the champion had failed to provide. All of this dissatisfaction channels into anger and bloodlust, intensifying her assault even further. Dropping her leg back to the ground, she grips the back of Kyoko's neck with both hands and pulls her forward into a clinch.

"Pathetic. They could have just appointed me champion and saved everyone a lot of time."

Even before she's finished speaking, the Irishwoman brings her knee up, delivering a strike to Kyoko's abdomen. It's followed by four more, each delivered with rapid speed and painful precision. Knowing that would be enough damage to buckle over any opponent she's ever faced, Wyvern goes for the finish of her Prey Tearer, grabbing Kyoko by the hair and savagely pulling her down while bringing her knee up for a final time, looking to drive it right into Kyoko's face!

Kyoko's grabbed by Wyvern who's progressively angry about the performance of the champ, likely venting sentiments others have already started to say. They expected this match to start off and continue to be a slugfest that would shock the world as the new champion and chalelnger wanted to prove themselves. Wyvern's control likely shocked them, and now Wyvern was going for what looked to be a finishing move, pulling her close and bringing her knee back ready to crush Kyoko's belly the first knee came and collided with Kyoko's abs in with shocking speed and power. "Ngghh..." Kyoko grunted, her belly bracing for the knee while Wyvern would pull back and hit her again and again. The knees were strong and they would've sent anyone to the floor gasping for air or at Wyvern's full mercy when they were done....if that person wasn't the Belly Queen herself. But Kyoko's abs had stayed tight, holding off the worst of the combo while Kyoko stayed firmly on her feet. Wyvern proceeded to to pull her head down by her hair and would try to throw a knee to her face, but by this point Kyoko would be ready and grab the knee that came for her head.

"Pathetic?" Kyoko asked, a bitter tone to her words as she nearly spat them at Wyvern, reaching out and grabbing Wyvern's head to pull it down and wrap Wyvern's head and leg into a fisherman. "You land a few hits that can't even bring me to my knees and you think that makes you a champ already?! You impatient foolish brat, I wanted a fighter's mentality you better stop playing around!" Kyoko said before she would bring her leg up and kick out Wyvern's other leg to roll them both backwards until Wyvern was on her back rolled up. "This isn't your hellhole, you're not fighting some bum back home. You're fighting the Queen, and you'll need more than those sloppy knees to end me." Kyoko said seemingly going for a pin but she expected Wyvern to try to break out, if she did Kyoko would roll back and stand up again, lining herself up to kick Wyvern's head while she was trying to get back to her feet and stun her, grab the head and drop her down with a kneeling ddt.

In the heat of the moment she doesn't notice, entirely focused on delivering her strikes as rapidly and powerfully as she can, but when Kyoko catches her knee it finally occurs to Wyvern that her opponent's abdomen felt more like hitting a marble statue than another human being. Kyoko's infamously durable abs wouldn't be done in so easily, and this mistake has opened her up to retaliation. As she's pulled up by her leg, there's no chance for her to get away before she's flipped bodily over the taller wrestler and slammed into the ground, berated all the while for her overconfidence.

"Ooh, someone's-OOF-salty."

The younger wrestler takes the painful reversal in stride, although whether it's true indifference or a calculated show to sow doubt in her opponent's mind is ambiguous. Immediately after landing, Wyvern almost casually breaks out of the false pin attempt, sensing a trap but unsure of what form it will take. Already on-guard when she makes it to her knees, she's able to get her arms up and block the kick from hitting her in the face. Unfortunately, this still has the desired effect of holding her in place and preventing her from seeing Kyoko's next attack before she's already gripped by it.

"Hm."

Again, Wyvern seems entirely unbothered by the precarious situation, but despite some struggling is unable to break free before Kyoko spikes her head into the canvas. The impact is enough to rattle even the durable Irishwoman, who is momentarily stunned in the aftermath. She'll be back up almost immediately, but even that small delay will give a wrestler of Kyoko's skill a chance to continue.

Kyoko's turn of fortune sucked the brooding anger out of her opponent, who quickly went from insulting her out of contempt to mocking her with jokes. Kyoko could feel her anger rise a little at the comment, before she grabbed Wyvern's hair to pull her up to her feet. "Someone's bipolar. Maybe you forgot you were the one upset a second ago. Now your face is in the dirt and suddenly it's a joke. I guess where you come from no one ever called you stable." Kyoko said before she would turn around pulling Wyvern up and around with her.

"But that's okay. I don't care about that, I care about your ability to fight so I hope from now on you bring me more, or I'll crush you." Kyoko said before she would lift Wyvern up and start to stretch her out in a gory special, holding her arms behind her and trapping the legs as well while allowing her back to be bent across her own and putting Wyvern on display.

"I was mad because it looked like you were weak. I was wrong. Simple as that."

By the time Wyvern regains full control of herself, Kyoko has already pulled her up and into a new hold. Although she makes no immediate effort to break out of the gory special, the champion can already feel her opponent beginning to move her body systematically, checking for vulnerabilities in the security of the hold's grip on her. All through this, she never stops talking.

"Bipolar is characterized by mood swings between hypomania and depression, usually not anger. The moods also generally lasts for days or weeks, rather than being moment-to-moment. You're thinking of Borderline Personality Disorder; that has sudden mood swings and generally involves a lot more anger. I'm neither, though. Just a bit...ODD."

Her tone is almost bored, only the slightest hint of strain in her voice betraying the pain the hold is putting her in.

"But...I think we're done warming up."

With a sudden, overwhelming surge of strength, Wyvern rips her arms out of Kyoko's grip. Continuing the motion, she throws her entire body forward, bringing her legs up and attempting to hook them over Kyoko's shoulders for a sunset flip power bomb!

Wyvern attempted to defend her position, and would meet resistance from the Queen for her reasoning. "You got mad at an assumption made about 2 seconds of interacting with a champion. Your foolishness is still foolish." Kyoko said pulling on the hold to cause Wyvern more strain, the fighter was still trying to talk and defend herself while Kyoko prioritized bending her in the gory special. Her struggles didn't go unnoticed and she was met with resistance waiting to see if she could stop the girl from escaping until suddenly the challenger went all out and would force her arms free and slide down, grabbing her as she fell and turning her along the way to drop her with a sunset flip powerbomb.

"Aagghh!" Kyoko screams falling backwards and being dropped on her back. Her head was pressed against her chest as she rolled across the mat before she fell back. Kyoko groaned and rolled to her stomach, holding her head and slowly trying to get back to her feet.

The sudden reversal draws a roar of approval from the crowd as the two wrestlers slam into the mat. Fully behind neither combatant, in the absence of someone to cheer for the audience desires only thing: violence. The sunset flip delivers, a painful looking crash that sends the champion reeling after she had seized the lead from her chosen opponent. Wyvern however, is in no better shape; while she had the raw power needed to pull off such a move, she lacks the training or coordination to do so safely, and takes almost as much damage from the impact as she deals. Still, at least the Gory special was broken.

"I'm not taking advice on good decisionmaking from someone who can't separate fiction from reality."

Despite her taunting bravado, Wyvern isn't much faster getting to her feet than Kyoko, reaching verticality mere instants before the Belly Queen. She works one of her knees as she does so, ensuring it hasn't taken too much damage from the Gory special before dropping her foot to the ground and reassuming her stance. She begins inching forward, making a few snap feints to try to bait a response from Kyoko as she tests the champion's defenses.

Kyoko now had to get up after the drop, figuring out where to go after the Gory special had been reversed and what to do about Wyvern. Right now they both were trying to get up, and slowly at that after the move seemed to have left them both hurt. The Belly Queen was just a little bit short rising back to her feet, and she saw Wyvern trying to get ready to attack her again. Kyoko knew that Wyvern preferred Kyoko attacking so she could counterattack, which made any attempts to strike first feel like she was walking into a trap.

"Like you'd be the one to know who's incapable of that." Kyoko said before she moved in. Despite knowing the risk she felt compelled to see if she could break through those countermeasures and she wouldn't let this match turn into Wyvern attacking her while she turtled herself and tried to play defense. She would go low and try to attack Wyvern's belly, before pulling back on the feint and trying to strike the head again before Wyvern could dodge or close the gap, she wanted to get a clean punch to her face to rock this punk and show her that she was the champion.

Above all else, Wyvern knows that she can't afford to let Kyoko take control of the flow of the match. So far it seemed like she had the advantage when it came to striking, but the champion's breadth of experience and technique dwarfed hers. If she was put fully on the defensive, Kyoko's broader toolbox could keep her guessing long enough that she might never recover. It is to this end that she goes back on the attack as soon as she's able, trying to bait Kyoko into a response that she can use to create an opening.

"Takes one to know one."

Continuing her verbal exchange with Kyoko without missing a beat on the physical one, Wyvern brings one of her elbows down to try to force Kyoko's blow to her stomach away. In the same motion, she cocks her other arm back for an elbow strike, but as a result she isn't in a position to block when Kyoko reveals the belly strike to be a feint and aims her real attack to the challenger's face. Unfortunately for Wyvern, her headbutt counter can't be used consistently, leaving her with no option but to try to roll with the strike. Kyoko's punch lands directly on target, snapping Wyvern's head back and pushing her back a step.
