Atomic Tempest - Alizeh and ???

Post by SwordSavior1 »

The arena lights dipped to a low, electric hum, that specific, suffocating silence that precedes a storm. The massive screen above the entrance ramp flickered with the LAW logo, casting long, jagged shadows across the sea of expectant faces.

The ring announcer stepped into the center of the squared circle, the spotlight hitting him with blinding intensity. He raised the microphone, his voice booming through the speakers, reverberating off the rafters with a gravelly authority that demanded attention.

"The following contest," he began, pausing to let the anticipation coil tight in the bellies of the crowd, "is a Multi-Fall Prisoner of War match! The first competitor to secure two falls wins!"

So just a spicy match?

The crowd erupted. A roar of anticipation, confusion, and primal excitement surged through the arena, a physical wave of noise that shook the barricades. The stipulation hung heavy in the air, a dark promise of servitude. In the world of LAW, this wasn't just a match; it was a auction block disguised as sport. Another loser was about to become a plaything, a toy to be used and discarded at the winner's whim.

No music played. No competitor emerged. The ring sat empty, the canvas pristine and white under the harsh, singular spotlight, waiting to be stained with sweat and effort. The crowd murmured, a restless ocean of whispers, craning their necks toward the entrance ramp, expecting the Emerald Storm to burst through the curtain at any moment. While Alizeh's opponent herself was a mystery, a blank slate that only fueled the gambling frenzy in the stands.

But the seconds stretched, turning into a minute. The tension thickened, becoming almost tangible, tasting of stale popcorn and nervous sweat.

Then, the sound of heels clicking against the metal ramp cut through the noise. Click. Click. Click. It wasn't the thunderous stomp of a brawler or the rhythmic bounce of a high-flyer, but the measured, deliberate pace of someone in absolute control. Someone who knew that the show didn't start until they decided it did.

Wicke Sykes emerged from the shadows of the curtain.

She wore her signature white lab coat over a sleek pink leotard that hugged her veteran physique, the fabric shimmering slightly under the stage lights. Her dark hair was pulled back, severe and practical. She carried no music, no fanfare, just a microphone clutched in her right hand, her expression calm, almost amused, like a scientist observing a particularly interesting specimen under a microscope.

The crowd buzzed, a wave of recognition rippling through the arena upon seeing the beloved veteran. Wicke was a legend, a mother figure to some, a terrifying intellect to others. Seeing her in the ring, dressed for combat but holding a mic, created a dissonance that only made the audience lean in closer.

She reached the ring, stepping through the ropes with the ease of someone who had done it ten thousand times. She walked to the center, the spotlight catching the sharp lines of her coat and the knowing smirk playing on her lips. She twiddled the microphone, the faint static feedback hushing the crowd into a focused silence.

Wicke looked toward the entrance ramp, her eyes narrowing slightly, waiting. She didn't raise a peep. Not until Alizeh would come down the ramp to meet her supposed opponent.
