Renee was incensed in the ring. The Loser's Champion kicked up a fuss. She shouted up a storm. The crowd booed the angry heel as she bemoaned the lack of respect she was getting around LAW from wrestlers and fans alike!
The fans seemed to know the drill. No matter how loud the raven-haired girl got or how well that scarlet letter of a red "championship belt" matched her red top, the lightweight heel refused to be ignored! Which made it all the more intriguing when Steinhauser invoked LAW Management and called out The Assistant General Manager, herself by name!
Ears perked up all around the arena when they heard Renee go off! Despite the massive size of the LAW roster, no one dared call out management, let alone the number 2 in charge! A brief silence followed the "champion's" belligerent words.....and then.....
"Hmm? Hello! Yes, the little angry woman in the ring. Yes, you! Eyes up here, Renee!" A voice echoed out as Defoe appeared on the titantron screens both above the entrance ramp and high up in the rafters of the arena.
"I'm sorry. You didn't expect me to actually grace you and all these fools out here with my presence, did you? I'm afraid I'm a very busy woman. I simply don't have the time!" Angie closed the drawer under her desk. She seemed to be broadcasting from the very same office she had Renee thrown out of just the other day!
"But you know what I do have time for? I have time to straighten out a jobber hack, who's totally out of line!" Defoe pushed up her glasses and placed both hands on the desk in front of her, assuming a more assertive stance!
"Allow me to clarify some things for you, my dear hapless, foolish Renee." Angie put her hands together, interlacing her fingers as her tone grew more serious and....more ominous.
"1) I didn't "challenge" you. I'm afraid that would be a massive waste of time for both of us. I'm not in the business of issuing challenges. And if I were, I wouldn't waste my time with, let's face it, the most expendable woman on the roster."
"2) I am your boss, not the other way around. You do what I tell you to do! Your fate is in MY hands! I could fire you without a second thought right now. Have security escort you off the premises. Send your things from the locker room to your home address in a garbage bag because that would match the skill you bring with you to the ring. But I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'm going to do something for you that I don't do for anyone. I'm going to repeat myself so clearly, you and every last layman in this one-horse town should be able to understand me in no uncertain terms. You should thank your lucky stars."
"Renee Steinhauser, do you want to know the real reason I haven't issued you any kind of challenge? It's because, as the Loser's Champion, you are officially the bottom of the barrel amongst the 90 percent of women who don't go on to make any sort of meaningful impact in this company and in wrestling as a whole. You could find a way to lose a wrestling match to a stiff breeze. Now, I've been retired for some time, but I don't think I could beat you and half this roster without so much as breaking a sweat. You didn't understand me last time, so let me make this clear. If you question my authority, if you can't keep my name out of your mouth, if you make me get in that ring with you, I will squash you like the gnat you are. I will grind you pretty little face into the very bottom of the totem pole until you know exactly where you belong around here. And I will dogwalk you all over my ring and my arena with that same decrepit belt you've been cursed to wear. I will dock your pay below the minimum wage. I will put you on display as an example to make sure no one is ever brave enough or stupid enough to run their mouth at me again." Angie let her unhinged, menacing rant marinate there for a moment. Her aura of malice cut through the arena more and more with each word. Finally, the buxom blonde would put on a corporate smile, one that did absolutely nothing to hide her sinister intent, before giving Renee the chance to bow out before she could draw her full ire!
"Do I make myself crystal clear? You can apologize to me now if you understand just how out of line you were."
