Kyoko's Birthday Blessings

Her music played, letting the crowd groan as they knew what to expect, it was the same thing every year and somehow the so called Belly Queen managed to make herself more obnoxious. Not that she cared what they thought she was the champ and more importantly it was her special day so out she came with both titles in hand and with her stable behind her looking just as proud to be there. Even Da Xia seemed more in-sync with the group after mostly acting like a forced henchwoman for the majority of her time here. Recent events seemed to make her and Kyoko click in a way that no fan would've imagined after the years nearly destroying each other. Kirie and Tara's presence and pride in being here was expected, the two flanked Kyoko's sides until they all reached the ring where Kyoko handed them her belts and rolled in in before taking them back once she was in. The rest followed her inside so that they could all stand as a quartet ounce again, to the boos they had come to expect. As a unit some of the fans still liked Kirie and Tara, but Kyoko barely got any good reactions anymore as she became more and more insufferable to the fanbases, and she seemed to enjoy it unlike before where fans opinions of her meant little. Now she almost seemed to take pride in pissing them off.

"Did you really think I was going to let this celebration go without reminding you of how great I am. Last time I was here I was still only about half a year into my championship with a few defenses, turning a prime 28. Now here I am, 29 and somehow even greater than before. 2024 was one of the best years of my life, nothing but victory after victory against champs, stars from other companies. I traveled around and fought the best not just here but everywhere and no one could stop me, no matter how much you losers begged them to try!" Kyoko bragged, getting a hostile reaction for her boasts. Once again as she expected and planned to get, almost laughing at the crowd for being so easy to piss off. "Look don't blame me that you choose the losers over the proven star. I've been kicking your favorites asses since I joined this place you've had years to learn that your favorites can't hang with me, you're just mad now that you've run out excuses for why I'm so good. I know most of you numbskulls were sitting around gnashing your teeth when I kept winning, going 'oh just you wait Kyoko! You've only fought less experienced girls wait until you have to fight the real challengers, then you'll see!'...But then I fought the 'real' challengers didn't I, and what still happened? Oh right, 'Here's your Winner and Still Middleweight Champion...Kyoko Akaaaaan!'" Kyoko said, raising her belt after she said it. It's presence around her waist being proof of her many victories over many tough completion, some more earned than others. "Yeah get used to it idiots you're going to be hearing those words again and again for a long...long time. I could talk endlessly about the days I've been champion, but honestly anyone could be champ for a long time if they don't show up and don't fight real competition. Just as Rose Gold, or the M.I.A Cats. No nothing's impressive about long reigns what's impressive is accolades, accomplishments with merit. That is the gift that keeps on giving and I've been making many moments off those. I have the most title defenses for a Middleweight Champion and not some rookie fresh out of the gym, my list is full of challengers with skin in the game...alright I had one or two but sometimes you have to show a few rookies their place, or else some of you idiots might think you can become champion. A few humbling moments never hurt anyone, for long. Where was I? Oh right, my accomplishments, sorry I have so many of them it's hard to keep track. I was the first Middleweight Champion to Main Event a PPV since the belt creation, and I did it again with a Supercard at the end of the year which also saw me be the only person to have a personal belt be a prize for a Main Event match, because only someone like me can make something relevant. You can mock my Belly Queen title, but the fact is if anyone else tried to do what I did, no one would ever take them seriously. But when I did it, I made it an accomplishment to hold this belt. Holding my Belly Queen Championship was the highlight of Harmonia's life, she should wear that with pride. She should no joke, because that belt is more prestigious than anything else LAW has ever created, more important than anything anyone else in this arena will ever do. She may have got one over me, but by the time the clock struck New Years, everyone knew who the Real Queen was, and I came out stronger than ever!" Kyoko said this time raising her Belly Belt to show it off, clearly proud of holding both despite only one being considered legitimate.

"I could go on all day about what I did last year and why I deserve this moment, but the truth is I have a point and I need to get to it. The point was that as my birthday drew closer and closer I started asking myself....What the hell could I get for my birthday when I'm already on top of the world? At 29 I've already conquered the mountain, done what most can never do. I'm practically Queen of the World, what could I crave or desire? And it stumped me, not many things stump me but this did. So I needed advice, I turned and looked at Da Xia for a bit of advice." Kyoko said and she turned to Da Xia.

"I looked at Da Xia, my greatest rival, once upon a time my Arch-enemy now one of the most powerful allies. I looked her dead in the eyes and I said Da, you know me better than anyone else not named Fallon Terrazas. What could I possibly want for my 29th Birthday? And Da Xia looked me in the eyes and said 'Well you could always find another dumbass bitch to beat up, that always makes you feel alive.' And she's right that always did, but something felt wrong. Because every word out of her mouth was true but somehow it didn't feel fitting enough. So I had to seek others. So instead I went to Tara." Kyoko added, walking beside Tara and tapping her on the shoulder.

"I placed my hand on my finest apprentice just like this and said Tara I'm going to be 29 soon and I have no idea what else I can do to make it feel special. I'm at the peak of the world, what could anyone offer me? Now Tara, she's a thoughtful thing so she gave it a second or two, then said 'I understand, it can be hard to think of something for the woman who is everything and has everything. If anything your mere presence would be a gift to anyone else.' And sadly I had to agree, because here I stand in front of all of you, and every single one of you has a better future just for being in the same room as me. Not much better but far better than you could ever get by yourself. So you're welcome! I was going to ask Kirie next, only to find that Kirie was listening to our conversation and just as I turned to her she sprang up." Kyoko said turning to look at Kirie.

"Before I could ask her anything she said, 'Kyoko the reason you're struggling this hard is because no one can give you anything you want. Tara's right, you simply have everything and deserve every single bit of it. If anything you should be the generous one for your birthday, and give people some more hope that they need even if they don't want it.' And then me and Tara looked at each other and smiled because my youngest apprentice had it right. As much as I could make this about me, every day is already about me because I'm just that good, I'm the best wrestler alive, the best champ in LAW. No one could hope to give me anything satisfying....So instead I decided I would be generous. Instead of taking gifts I would give gifts. Bring them out!" Kyoko screamed pointing to the entrance ramp where someone wheeled out a car of wrapped gifts with names on them. The names on the gifts were names fans could recognize, including names like Harmonia, and Aella. This was enough to tell the fans who those gifts were for and what this really was about. "I know a lot of my challengers are still bitter about losing so I won't force you to come out here and feel like you have to humiliate yourself just to accept my generosity. So instead I'll open your gifts for you and and you can come pick it out when you feel like it. So let's get this party started. Girls if you would be so kind start bringing me gifts to unwrap." Kyoko demanded, and the three members left the ring to start grabbing presents to carry back to her, to finally start Kyoko's taunting of her fallen foes.

Re: Kyoko's Birthday Blessings

Kirie brought her the first gift, handing her a wrapped box that had Wyvern's name on it. Her first opponent and the one victory no one ever tried to take from her. The problem was the ending which most felt was Kyoko going too far, of course none of those people were actually in the ring with the lunatic, Kyoko used as much force as necessary and would've used more with no remorse if needed. "Ah Wyvern, I almost miss her crazy ass. But I'm glad we haven't had to deal with her, as a challenger she was great but she had a few screws loose. I searched long and hard for a gift that I felt you needed, I hope you like it. So without further ado.." Kyoko said before she pulled the wrapper apart and opening the gift to reveal a box that she quickly opened before pulling out a book that she showed to the cameras. The cameras showed off the book, which was a self help book. Called The Mountain is you: Transforming Self-Sabotage into Self-Mastery. "You see while you are a badass Wyvern, you're also crazy as shit, so crazy in fact that you clearly need help that LAW can't provide you, so I offer you the first book in what I hope is a long journey for your insane ass, better start reading before they cart you to Asylum." Kyoko said tossing the book back to Kirie to be placed to the side. The crowd was already booing her as she pointed at Tara next, who brought her another gift. This one was bigger and had two names on it...Alizeh and Kate. The couple that had been Kyoko's longest feud as as champion. Both got a chance and both lost, but they deluded themselves into trying to find victory elsewhere by getting engaged..Naturally Kyoko was spiteful enough to not let things go off that.

"Tara why do I get the feeling you picked this one for a reason? I know you and Kate have history." Kyoko teased before taking the gift from her. "I singlehandely made these two famous. When they think of Alizeh or Kate they think of me because neither is relevant enough without my title matches that put them on the map. Despite this being the only reason anyone even cares that they're getting married, I haven't been thanked or given a special mention or a thanks for the matches. I could be spiteful but today isn't the day for that, today is a day of celebration. So let's see what we got the lovely couple." Kyoko said grabbing the wrapping, slowly ripping it off before revealing what was a case with a cake inside. On top of the cake were wedding figurines designed to look like Alizeh and Katarzyna, which by itself would be a cute gift. However a third figurine was behind them and this one was designed like Kyoko holding her championships above them. To make matters worse, once the cameras zoomed in on the figurines more, you could see that Alizeh and Kate's figurines had Kyoko's emblem marked on them. "Ta-daaaah! Look you two, we got you something for your wedding. I couldn't bring a whole wedding cake here but this small one can be a nice secondary gift, and I know you two will love the figures. I got one of me standing above you guys considering I own you both, so it's only fair your wedding is like the rest of your lives, in my shadow! Sorry Kate we tried to get a figurine of Tara standing over you as well but the guy we bought it from only had time to make three. However you have our number so when Alizeh does what she does best and disappoints you with her poor performance, Tara will be there to make you feel as blissful as she did at Turning Point. Won't you Tara?" Kyoko asked mocking the two further before she turned her attention to Da Xia. "Your turn Da which one did you get?"

Da Xia handed her present, this one for Akane. The Evil Queen of Strong Style who caused Kyoko a lot more grief than she wanted to deal with. Taking advantage of an open challenge to have her and her partner Tia jump her to get a title shot that they could pick the two arrogantly assumed they could bully Kyoko with the numbers game and injured Kirie. That tactic might've worked years ago but by now Kyoko was done playing fair and showed them just how powerful her group was. Watching those two arrogant bitches cry and break under the pressure of the group's attack and her beat down of them later was one of the most satisfying moments of last year. "Akane. The first Fake Queen I vanquished. The redhead was a fish who thought she could swim with the sharks. So here's something that you might like for you and your girlfriend." Kyoko finished, grabbing the gift and opening it. This was the smallest gift so far, and Kyoko unwrapped it rather easily before pulling out a pink pair of handcuffs. Most of the fans wouldn't know that Kyoko used some handcuffs to restrain the two before beating them up after the match, but Akane and Tia would know exactly what she meant with them. "Since you two are permanently stuck together and can't do shit by yourselves I figured I could give you something so you could make your little union official, maybe some extra time together can give you time to put a ring on it Tia." Kyoko laughed dropping the pink handcuffs before going to the next gift handed to her by Kirie.

"Oh boy, another co-dependent loser." Kyoko said before showing the cameras the name. Nashi, the Idol she faced because she ran her mouth. Nashi was one half of a tag team who dared call Kyoko out and even went all out and made it a POW match to try to prove her point. In the end the only point that was proven was that Kyoko was the better woman and Nashi found out that she was not ready to stand against Kyoko and come out on top. "For the record any idols who want to get into my business. Wrestling isn't a fairy tail, you don't win by being pretty or cute, so if you step in my ring I'll do to you what I did to Nashi." Kyoko said, not even bothering with any fake niceness before she pulled the wrapping paper off her gift, revealing a pair of crutches. The crutches were blue matching the colors of Nashi's partner, which was no doubt not a coincidence considering the words Idol Dragons was on the crutch. "I know you like to pretend you can stand on your own, but a tag team wrestler is still a tag team wrestler no matter how close you came to winning that match. This is so the next time you try to stand without your other half, you have something to give you some support." Kyoko said, cockily dropping the crutches at her feet before going back to Tara who had her next gift ready.

This was a name she was happy to get to. Tina Armstrong, the first LAW Middleweight Champion, Alaina Sanders friend and tag partner and one of the many opponents Kyoko beat. That victory on the outside looked like another hard fought battle but for Kyoko it was proof of everything that she said since day 1, that she was robbed out of the chance of being the first champ by not being in it and that Tina had ducked her for too long. Tina proved she was better than most of the competition by nearly beating Kyoko, but that only made Kyoko's victory even sweeter. It was a win that meant the world to her. "The history I have with Tina, beat her, beat her partner and made them both look like what they really are, relics of the past who still think they have a future in my world. Tina was a champ the first real champ LAW had because I couldn't compete in the tournament, and even with all of her impressive wins in both tag and singles action, the best match she ever got and the best showing you ever saw from her came from me. She hit me with everything she possibly could and I survived because I am that damn good. But Tina still rightfully deserves her flowers, had I been in the tournament I don't doubt that she would've been my toughest challenge winning the belt so I offer this...to you." Kyoko declared, ripping the gift open to show a trophy made of Silver, a Trophy that was made to look like Tina raising the belt over her head, much like she did when she first won it. "No matter what I can't take away your past glories from you, but that's all they are, past glories. I don't see you gaining any new ones anytime soon. So I had this made for you so you can always remember the last time you were the top star, don't worry though you'll have company. Once I do the same to Alaina I'll make one for her and send her your way." Kyoko boasted and then winked at the camera. This was one she was happy to show off, gently placing it down so that she could receive her next gift from Da Xia. This was the perfect person to be giving her this gift.

"Actually Da I'll let you open this one. Because this is one that's special for both of us." Kyoko giggled, the camera got a shot of the present saying Aella Midori's name. Aella had faced off against all of Abdominion to make her challenge to Kyoko, for the sake of her daughter and her daughters girl, it was annoying saga of revenge that Kyoko had to endure, but like any good champ she endured it. Now she can finally move past all of them, but first....She had to prove a point. As Da Xia started to unwrap Aella's gift Kyoko continued. "So I know most of you know Aella, you people call her Queen of the Sky. My family has a different name for her. Ayane's little puppy. But really that name isn't fair to her...true she lets my grandmother do whatever and true she's whipped but it's not fair to say she only does what Ayane says....She does what anyone in my family says because it turns out Aella is the family dog who if you whip her hard enough she'll do anything we ask, be it my old granny, my mother or me. So I traded your bullrope for something else." Kyoko finished, Da Xia pulling the dog collar out just as she did so, with Aella's name on it and a bell. "I figured since you'll be staying close by a bit more to tend to the needs of my entire bloodline like the good little simp you are, you might as well be properly tagged. Da Xia and I would love to show you more of the same love you got last time you forgot who your master is." Kyoko taunted, pointing to where in the ring Da Xia could put it while she moved on to her next gift.

The next gift was almost obvious, for one is long and bat shaped, two it had Melody's name on it. The crowd was booing before Kyoko even said anything. Mel was no longer in the good Grace's of the fans but Lyanna still was and no one had forgotten or forgiven the fact that the last time anyone saw her in the ring was when Kyoko knocked her out and carried her to God knows where. Melody certainly never forgot it and it fueled her attempt at revenge against the Belly Queen herself. "I know I know, you all loved having Lya around, but wrestling isn't for the feint hearted and trust me, Lya was plenty feint by the time I was done with her. Her buddy Melody is made of tougher shit at least, so much so that I'm giving her a gift for having the heart to get down and dirty when you want payback. Kirie, rip that baby open!" Kyoko demanded, Kirie complied and with a single tear the entire paper fell off showing off the very same bat Kyoko ended her match with Lya with. "I kept this thing because it was a nice memento of an old beaten for. Then I figured, it's kinda just sitting there in my house and really who cares about Lya anymore, no one important right?" Kyoko asked, getting another loud round of boos. "So Mel you keep it, and maybe you can be more successful than the last person. Be careful though some bits of her might still be on it, and it might cause her some nasty flashbacks if she sees it." Kyoko joked letting Kirie put the weapon away and making room for Tara to come in with a big but thin present with Hana's name on it.

"You know some might say Hana and I have a lot in common, we both come from big families and we both had big shoes to fill. The two biggest differences between us....would be that I actually filled those shoes and was, you know successful. Hana on the other hand...well she was tough as shit and she was far more respectful than anyone here, at least she knows how to treat a true champion with some class. But I could see it in her eyes that she had no hope for success, she was too timid and too shy and even when she found that fire it seemed to go away too quickly. I can only imagine that after my complete victory over her that she's going to hide her face in shame, somewhere in country maybe she has a girlfriend who lives in those parts. I know she might go off and hide and leave behind the public spotlight, and her family. As a family woman myself I couldn't let her do that just yet, not without this." Kyoko said, and Tara much like Kirie did earlier ripped the presents wrapper away to show a big family portrait of Hana's family all smiling, but Hana was either not in the pic or cropped out. "In the likely event that shy little Hana has run off and left her family I can only hope she accept this gift so she can always look at them and apologize to them for being a failure without having to do it directly to them." Kyoko said, doing a fake bow of respect while the crowd understandably didn't by her words as sincere. She barely tried to make them sound sincere at all and was quickly going to her next gift courtesy of Da once more. Though the name on this gift nearly made Kyoko lose her smile...Harmonia.

The girl who beat her in a backstage brawl for Kyoko's Belly Queen title then put it on the line if Kyoko put her Middleweight belt up for grabs at Turning Point. A clever plan that almost cost her both of her belts....almost. 2024 was a year of mostly victories with her only defeat before this being Akane's cheap shot with Tia's help. Harmonia however handed her the only real and decisive defeat and took something precious from Kyoko in the process, turning their war into a battle of Belly Queens. The crowd picked up on this, and started to chant "Belly Queen Moni" to try and get a rise out of Kyoko. Her face twitched, and she took a second to compose herself before directing her "You people love worshiping fake Queens, and this blonde bitch has to be one of the fakest that she has to try and take someone else's throne. Da get that open. So Moni you managed to be one of the few challengers who was actually worth the hype, but like all other challengers the difference between that and Champ was still too far for you to climb. I won't deny your Belly Queen Championship win, I won't insult my own title by being petty. But you are a fool if you think simply winning that belt makes you the Queen, I was always the Queen I will always be the Queen and nothing you or anyone does will ever change that. You can beat me once but I will beat you thrice for every one loss. So think about that before you ever get in my face again bitch...and before you think any further on that, get a load of this." Kyoko said pointing at Da Xia, who had a t-shirt that had the pictures of their match that Kyoko took for her tweets, both of them with Moni in a comprising position. "Look Superstar, I know how social media crazy you are so I decided to match you and give you some new merch to have, these shirts are the just the beginning but plenty of march from our match will be made for purchase, imagine that. Entire stadiums of people wearing shirts of me showing you who the real superstar is." Kyoko said looking deep at the camera to make sure Moni got the message, this was clearly one of the more personal gifts Kyoko did, for soon after she was calming down and pointing at Kirie to bring her the last gift. By now people knew who this one was, with no one left besides the Queen of Domination Kathleen.

"Haven't I been saying we had too many Queens, I guess that's my gift to LAW, exposing and crushing many of them, the only real Queen here is me. And don't pretend I didn't do you guys a favor either, we all know you were sick of Kathleen. She had an attitude and thought she could get her cheap win off me the same way she did off of others to remain so dominant. But the Queen of Domination soon learned that true dominance can only be administered by a true warrior and when we met, you finally saw what looked like. Our fight wasn't a battle of good and evil but a battle of violence and pain, of which I am an expert in administering. And to make sure you never forget that again, I got you...this!" Kyoko shouted pointing at Kirie's now opened gift a singlet like the one Kathleen usually wears..however it had "Property of the Real Queen of Domination" On the middle, right around the area of the singlet Kyoko ripped off in the match. "Since I'm the only real Queen and the real dominant one that makes you a subject to me Kathleen, and that means that this gear is a lot more accurate to what a pleb like you should be wearing in my presence. You should come try it on sometime, I promise it fits." Kyoko laughed stomping around the ring and basking in the crowd's hostility, feeding off it to brighten her day. "So many gifts, I'm so considerate. I wonder how many I'll have to give for my next birthday, would anyone even step up after seeing this? I hope so because it'll get boring if people are too scared of me. Oh well, that's next years problem, in the meantime happy birthday to me and to losers I sa-"" Kyoko spoke but was cut off by Kirie grabbing her mic. Judging by the look on her face it clearly surprised Kyoko, who could only look at her clearly asking why with her facial expressions. "Not yet, not yet...You see while we all agreed you didn't need a gift...you still deserved one which is why we pitched in to bring you something else....Guys bring it down, now!" Kirie said, making Kyoko look up cautiously...before beaming at the sight above her.

Down came a pinata, but not just any pinata, it was a pinata that clearly looked like her next scheduled opponent, Charlotte Ravel. Namely a pinata that resembled Charlotte's pretty face. The Sand Lizard had called Kyoko out the last time they met and Kyoko in her anger made her the next challenger to teach her a lesson, now it seemed that Kirie had decided to give her a chance to teach her another lesson anyway. "Hope you still know how to use that bat, because it has one more purpose. Giving these fans a visual demonstration of what you're going to do to little Charlotte at Fight the LAW." Kirie said dropping the mic. Da Xia went to Kyoko's side to offer her the bat to use, a rare smile on her face.

"Wow you guys I'm stunned! I never even thought of this. So simple yet so awesome. I truly have the best group around!...No stand back, and let me show everyone a taste of the very same skills that crushed Lya, and that will crush Charlotte." Kyoko said taking the bat from Da Xia, then gesturing for everyone to give her space. Once they were clear Kyoko would wind the bat back like she was playing baseball, lined up her shot with the Pinata..and took aim swinging as hard as she could. The bat hit the Pinata hard cracking it open in one powerful swing that sent the rest of it flying everywhere while various candies spilled into the ring. The stable clapped watching the scene, while Kyoko dropped the bat with a cocky smirk and walked around the mess of candy all around her. "You know this is a pretty good gift, not just because it was fun but because it was a nice visual representation of what will happen to Charlotte at Fight the LAW. Her head cracked wide open." Kyoko boasted stepping around the candy to find the nearest camera to look into. "Except unlike this pinata, your head won't spill candy. Just what little brain matter you have, which isn't a lot since you dare say I lost my honor, or that I have become a shell of myself out of ego. What you call ego is what true pride looks like and I'm sick of people like you trying to act like I've become the problem when more of you should be acting like me. But you're friends with Astrid, one of the very few people I respect so as a courtesy for her I will give you one last chance to reconsider. All you have to do is own up to your mistakes in trying to correct me and I will go easy on you and give you a simple match...fail to heed my warnings and you will see violence of which you are not prepared for, violence that will have your blood and guts all over this ring. The choice is yours Charlotte, be good for the birthday girl." Kyoko declared, dropping the mic and stepping back until she was in the middle of the ring, raising her titles once more as another boast of her dominance.

Re: Kyoko's Birthday Blessings

Unread post by skip-stop »

I should have called someone...” Victoria muttered.

Astrid went to Norway to visit her parents, and Nerissa is deeply depressed,” Charlotte shrugged. “Besides, even if they were both available, I don't see the need for their presence.” The pink-haired woman looked at the TV screen. “It's just a cheap self-love show, nothing more.”

Victoria and Charlotte were in the waiting room at the backstage. Initially, Victoria insisted that her ward refrain from visiting the arena today because she was almost one hundred percent sure that there would be some kind of provocation. However, the Frenchwoman did not listen to her manager this time, instead arriving at the arena to see what exactly Kyoko and her stable had prepared for today.

As Charlotte expected, the middleweight champion's performance began with a long speech about her achievements. The martial arts master didn't even have to focus on it because she had heard these things too many times. She was well aware of Kyoko's position regarding her status, and therefore Charlotte did not hear anything new.

But then the show changed the tone of the narrative.

Kyoko's boring speech, dripping with narcissism, turned into a real farce with the active participation of her stable. The members of the middleweight champion's team decided to celebrate their leader's birthday on a grand scale, matching each gift to the victories that Kyoko won during her reign. While Charlotte herself considered all this to be just a waste of time, Victoria, in her turn, could not help but say that it was at least very creative.

Oh damn...” the Englishwoman muttered, after which she cast a brief glance at her ward.

The reason was simple. The gifts dedicated to Kyoko's victories have come to an end, but her stable has prepared another gift for her, namely a pinata in the form of Charlotte's head. With undisguised joy, Kyoko smashed this pinata with a bat, and then stated that this is exactly what awaits Charlotte on the day they meet in the ring. The pink-haired woman involuntarily pursed her lips, but managed to keep her composure, though not for long.…

When Kyoko addressed Charlotte directly, urging her to retract the words that the Frenchwoman had said during their last meeting, the pink-haired woman clenched her fists. Victoria noticed this and hurried to cool the ardor of her ward.

Don't listen to her, it's all just nonsense to provoke you, you know that!”

Charlotte took a deep breath, trying to regain her inner peace. It might have seemed like it worked because she unclenched her fists. But then she got up from her chair, which made Victoria literally jump to her feet, after which she stood in front of Charlotte.

Don't even think about it!” The brunette said sternly.

Victoria, move away...” Charlotte said in a flat voice, after which she tried to take a step forward.

No way!” The manager protested, trying to stop the martial arts master. “There are four of them, and I don't have a backup for you, you promised not to do anything stupid!”

The Frenchwoman looked into her manager's eyes. Oh... a strange chill ran through her skin. That look... she couldn't remember the last time she'd seen something like that. Maybe long time ago, long before her family kicked her out. It was the look of a mother who was worried about her daughter. A look that Charlotte had missed all her life, because she had not received even a drop of love and understanding from her family. It touched her to the core, but…

Victoria...” Charlotte said, gathering her strength. “If I can't defend my honor, how will I defend the title when I become champion?”

Charlotte did not budge, making it clear that everything now depends only on Victoria. If the manager remains standing still, the Frenchwoman will abandon the idea of joining Kyoko in the ring. But if Victoria believes in her and her principles strongly enough, she must overcome her concern for Charlotte. The manager knew that Charlotte was one of the strongest not only in her team, but in the entire federation. One day, Astrid told her that Charlotte is stronger than she and Nerissa together, Charlotte just doesn't know it yet. The manager stood like a stone statue for a few seconds, and then…

Never deviate from your path...” Victoria took a step to the side, making way for Charlotte, and then touched the intercom earphone. “Priority request from Victoria Palmer, turn on Charlotte Ravel's music in five seconds!”

The martial arts master nodded gratefully at her manager, and then went straight to the curtains. Deep down, she knew from the beginning that she wouldn't be able to stay backstage today. Maybe Victoria was right and she really should have just ignored everything Kyoko said and did. That would be the easiest way. But she was well aware that there are no easy ways in a fighter's life. If she wants to be a champion, then she must be brave enough to face any challenge, even if the situation is not in her favor. She learned this from her best friend.

Entrance Music

A few seconds of increasing tempo, and then a deafening beat made the walls of the arena shake. To a flurry of applause, Charlotte stepped out from behind the curtain to the top of the ramp. Spending a few seconds, Charlotte looked around at the audience who greeted her. Her lips involuntarily stretched into a smile, after which she pushed back her left elbow and raised her right fist above her head, thanking them wordlessly for their warm welcome.

Wasting no time, she headed down the ramp, focusing her gaze on the ring. She wondered if Kyoko expected the Sand Lizard to respond to her call. Well, she'd know the answer soon enough. Charlotte stopped by the commentators' table. She stared intently into the champion's eyes for a few seconds, and then took off her jacket, thereby hinting that this time she was ready for anything. Picking up the microphone from the table, she took a few quick steps forward, then jumped onto the apron.

After making sure that no one was going to attack right now, she quickly slipped between the middle and top ropes, finally ending up in the ring. Perhaps the best solution would have been to stay near the ropes so that if the situation escalated, she could quickly leave the ring, but instead the martial arts master went forward to meet Kyoko right in the center. She stopped with only two steps left between her and the champion.

The Frenchwoman found herself surrounded by Kyoko's stable, as if she had fallen into a trap, but at the same time she behaved quite calmly. Looking into Kyoko's eyes, she waited for the audience in the arena to calm down a little, after which she brought the microphone to her mouth, while not taking her eyes off Kyoko.

Be careful with your wishes, especially on your birthday, because they can come true!" To begin with, she said, clearly hinting that Kyoko probably didn't expect Charlotte to respond to her call. “Now that I'm here, Kyoko, can you say again what you said earlier?”

Charlotte pointedly kicked some candies that fell out of the pinata, sending them to Kyoko's feet. The corners of the pink-haired woman's lips turned up, while her eyes narrowed slightly, as if she was trying to look into Kyoko's soul through Kyoko's eyes.

What was it all about?” She asked. “Oh, yes, you generously gave me a chance to take back my words, because only then you will go easy on me." Charlotte's eyes sparkled as if she had finally seen what she wanted in Kyoko's soul. “Or maybe this whole desperate attempt to intimidate me is really just nothing more than an attempt to hide how you really feel?" Charlotte tilted her head slightly forward. “Fear.” She explained. “The fear that a real fighter will come and take away what you no longer deserve!” Charlotte's gaze shifted to the middleweight belt. “The fear that in order to win, I won't need the help of those whom you in your narcissistic blindness call allies!" Charlotte looked around at those who surrounded her and Kyoko. “Do you think I'm in a cage because of them?” She asked a rhetorical question, returning her gaze to the champion's eyes. “No, Kyoko." The Frenchwoman shook her head. “You're the one who's in a cage because of them." She summed up, knowing that this truth would surely anger the purple-haired woman. “Because of them and your fear of losing." Charlotte raised her head slightly, looking down at Kyoko. “Do you know what the difference is between us?” She asked. “Even without a belt, I'm a real fighter, while you without a belt are nobody, because on the way to this moment, you've lost everything you could be respected for, and your recent victories, of which you're so proud, are just a worthless fake!” Pink lightning flashed in Charlotte's eyes. “Maybe this truth is not the gift you expected from me, but this is the gift you deserve, so Happy Birthday!”

Re: Kyoko's Birthday Blessings

The stable was all smiles, feeling content with the message put out there tot he fans about all of Kyoko's past victories but also the one put out there for the future one. Kyoko in particular stood around soaking in the boos like she was standing in the rain after having just escaped prison, at least until she e heard some music that got the fans attention. It was a matter of when, not if they would hear from Charlotte about what was said here, and it seemed the Sand Lizard wasn't going to wait until tomorrow to make sure they heard what she had to say, coming out in her stretch clothes like they got her on break but she didn't let her casual look stop her from marching down the ring to meet them, only taking off her jacket when she got close to make sure she was ready for a brawl if it came down to it. But once it was clear she wouldn't be attacked yet, she started to move into the ring so that she was face to face with not just he future opponent but the stablemates who supported her for the past year and started to mock her offer, instead of seeing it for the great gift that it was she instead saw it as Kyoko trying to create an out for herself by intimidating Charlotte. "That attitude of yours is not going to help you in the long run Charlotte, all I did was give you one last chance to see reason as a birthday gift. And judging by the tone of your voice I have a feeling you've come to squander that once chance within the same hour I gave it to you...not very smart." Kyoko growled, glaring at Charlotte as she stepped forward, none of her teammates moved yet, but their presence was enough to make the fans worry for Charlotte's safety. For a good reason as Charlotte talked like she wrestled, with nothing held back. No longer was she implying things with subtle references but was now fully claiming that it was Kyoko who was afraid to face Charlotte and whose boasts were nothing more than that, and that the cage fits the Belly Queen more than it does Charlotte since in Charlotte's eyes Kyoko's use of them has become reliance, a crutch that has weakened Kyoko overall and made her fake who needs the protection. It was harsh...and insulting. By the time she was done Kyoko looked ready to explode and take the entire arena with her.

"Nobody's don't get remembered in the history books like I will! Every single match I've ever done and will do will be used as film for the great to study and learn from, that was true before I won this belt and it has only become inevitable after I won it! You stand in this ring, on my birthday talking to me like I'm the one afraid just because I gave you a chance to have a long and happy career? No I know what this really is, your a pathetic low life who knows that she's been eclipsed by all of her peers. You look around and you realize that no matter how hard you try, at best you're just Kenny Norton surrounded by Ali's, Fraziers and Foremans. You can hang with anyone, but you'll never be better than them and you certainly won't be the best of them. This is some sad effort to be remembered by the fans by falling on your sword hoping that we tear you to shreds so the last thing anyone remembers is you speaking the 'truth' before you're torn apart. Honestly Char you should really get out of social media culture of doing things for clicks." Kyoko said putting her arm out and patting Charlotte's shoulder, but keeping the arm there as she continued to stare Charlotte down. "You've tread some dangerous waters, as I'm sure you're aware of, and soon you'll realize your mistake but for now let me give you one last warning. You can learn some humility and kneel before the Queen you disrespected here and now to make sure you make it to your title match, or you can learn the same lessons everyone here learned only one that will last your entire lifetime as we give you a beating that no one's ever gotten before." Kyoko said leaning her head in close enough that she could kiss Charlotte. "It would be a shame to have to find a replacement for my match on such short notice." Kyoko threatened, her arm not leaving Charlotte's shoulders as she gave her another ultimatum.

Kyoko did everything in her power to keep her composure. When Charlotte had just started talking, the purple-haired woman had even succeeded. But when the Frenchwoman moved from ghostly hints to direct statements, the middleweight champion changed. No, she didn't show her teeth, she didn't start breathing heavily like a boiling kettle, perhaps some might even say that her face hadn't changed at all. But for Charlotte, this woman's emotions were as open as a book. Her words made Kyoko angry, they made her damn angry.

And when the champion decided to respond to the upstart in the person of Charlotte, her anger became obvious. Unable to admit the truth, she began to talk with triple zeal about how great her reign was. Just a few moments later, she descended to direct insults to Charlotte, trying to hurt her pride. And although it was certainly unpleasant to listen to all this, the Frenchwoman remained calm. She had a reason for it.

Kyoko didn't know on what exactly she should push to really hurt Charlotte. She didn't even know the real reason why the Frenchwoman aspired to become a champion. If only she had known who Charlotte was a long time ago, she would surely have been able to influence her. The leverage that Charlotte used against Kyoko was the truth, while the leverage that Kyoko used against Charlotte was just empty words.

Standing in front of her now was a woman who had once been a real monster. The monster who once beat her own sister to a pulp. Charlotte has devoted the last seven years of her life to controlling her emotions and self-development. The past still haunts her and she is still trying to escape from it. But once she becomes a champion, she won't need to run anymore. This victory will be proof that she has become a different person. This victory will be her salvation. So she didn't care about every word coming out of Kyoko's mouth.

Even when the champion put the hand on her shoulder, the Frenchwoman did not move. If she wasn't ready for something more serious than just a skirmish, she would never have come here. But Kyoko didn't seem to understand this. Most likely, she thought that Charlotte was just suicidal if she decided to come here while her entire stable was in the ring.

Feeling that she was in complete control of the situation, Kyoko gave Charlotte one more, the last ultimatum. There were too many words, but the meaning was clear. Get down on your knees or we'll beat you up. "We" was the key word here. It wasn't just an ultimatum, it was a real threat. Perhaps not everyone understood this, but it was with this that Kyoko made it clear that she no longer had any arguments against what Charlotte said to her face.

She probably expected Charlotte to shit her pants.

But…

We?" Charlotte looked at each member of Kyoko's stable in turn before returning her gaze to the champion's eyes. “I don't think you understand the situation well, Kyoko." She smoothly raised her free hand and placed it on top of Kyoko's hand on her shoulder. “There are four of you and one of me.” Her heart started beating a little faster, her breathing became a little heavier, her eyes narrowed a little, she concentrated. “So bring some more guys and then it will be an even fight.”

At this point, the arena was filled with the roar of the audience, so loud that the walls seemed to shake.

Perhaps the best description of the current situation in the ring was the Mexican standoff. Charlotte waited, looking into Kyoko's eyes. She wasn't going to back down. She wasn't going to run. She wasn't going to obey. She wasn't going to beg. Instead, she just waited for one of the four to make at least the slightest movement, whether it was a banal step forward, clenching a fist, or even a drop of sweat running down the face. If you believe in something, you have to go all the way, even if the whole world is against you. Charlotte believed in what she was doing, and so she stood in front of Kyoko and her sycophants without a trace of fear on her face, ready to defend her principles.

Re: Kyoko's Birthday Blessings

She gave her a chance. She decided to be nice since it was her birthday. But Charlotte didn't seem to get the hint, even when it looked like for a second it did stick. She looked at the odds in front of her and for once it looked like she was going to see reason and back off....instead she stepped closer and got into the champs face to dare her to use that advantage and bring even more fighters as if she was the one who needed the help. Kyoko growled at the Sand Lizard, glaring at her with murderous intent while she contemplated if she should be the one to attack her or let the others do it. Kyoko would drop the belts to the floor, giving the audience a chance to prepare for what looked like would be a fight, and indeed now it seemed nothing would stop the two of them from going at it...until Kirie rushed in from the side and tried to blindsided Charlotte.

Kyoko Akan known for doing her own work and handling matters with her own two hands simply smirked and started to walk back, further away from the fight rather than towards it. She would wait things and see Kirie trying to continue the blindside by trying to knock Charlotte down and attempt to stomp her out completely, not saying anything while acting on the suggestion from Kyoko herself. If she got a few stomps in Kyoko would look at the bat and kick it towards Kirie, giving her trainee time to see and grab it so she could start to use it against the Sand Lizard herself.
