This was gonna be good.
One Cassandra Selinofoto, all dolled up. Looking extremely uncomfortable in a suit and tie, her rather familiar antenna glimmering a soft blue. She refused to leave home without them. Though.. she did look pretty good in the suit, a soft baby blue. But enough about her.. she had two PR executives that did NOT look happy with her. And of course, an announcer!
“LAAAAADDIIIIEES AND GENTLEMEN!!! I AM PROUD TO BRING YOUR TONIGHTS ENTERTAINER, MISS CASSANDRA SELINOFOTO!! SHE HAS A BOLD- AND RATHER VIRAL PROCLAMATION TO MAKE- AND WE HAVE IT ON VIDEO!!”
A large TV screen started broadcasting a video, the reporters leaned in.. and Cass audibly groaned.
“THHHEEEEREEEEE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS!! THATS AN OFFICIAL CHALLENGE IF IVE EVER SEEN ON- mPhH”A video reel was starting to play. The entrance of a gym, starting to rush in through the doors and.. there she was.
Cass. She wasn’t doing anything too strenuous, just squatting about ninety five kilos. Normally she wasn’t one for bulky strength training, but.. she had to get the strength to toss around people stronger than her SOMEHOW.
Of course, a camera was shoved into her face. Getting a close up of her face very unflattering, very focused and puffed up face. A male, kinda squeaky voice beeped out at her.
“Cassandra! Miss Selinofoto! Do you have anything to say for yourself?”
She’d widen her eyes, concentration broken and she staggered back, dropping the weights onto the ground unflatteringly, the metal bar rolling across her back and dropping onto her ass. This IDIOT. He could have very much hurt her with that, but she looked at him.. confused.
“S-say for myself? What do you mean?”
“Well you see, we’re making a list of top ten worst lightweights LAW has to offer! And you’re number six! Your record is 7 to 2! Well six losses and one draw, but who’s counting! Not us! Are you in running for the loser belt? How does it feel to be pushed as bait for rising lightweights like Hoshiko?”
Blink. Blink. Cass was wide eyed at that one. That wasn’t right.. she won all her Apex qualifiers..
Oh, right. Cass recalled that two of her qualifiers had technical difficulties and were never recorded, and her official record was 6-1-2.
”W-wait.. I’m not.. dude! Get your facts straight! I have a better record than that, and for YOUR information I could take any lightweight LAW has to offer!
Hook, line and sinker. Or, butterfly net.
“Oh yeah? Even the Champion?”
“Of course I could!”
.. she just realised what she said, and then the video cut off.
Suddenly, the announcer would get clocked in the face and Cass would take the mic. She was standing on her table, glaring down her interviewers who were chittering away at her.
“If you guys think that the stupid video is why you’re here today.. you’re dead wrong.
Cassandra sounded serious, and even after the rather messy video, she’d look down at the people there, and lightly tap the mic to her lips. She had recently had a match with her friend, Alizeh.. and now, she was tired of all the drama LAW had to offer.
She’d do this her own way.
“Cause right here.. right now, I’m challenging ANNIE CLARK!!.
Annie Clark.. one of the most well deserved champions I’ve ever seen in a long, long while.
And I challenge her.. no.. Annie..
I challenge you, to a title match. You may be a champion.. you may be a powerhouse.. but I’ll be damned if I’m not the one standing after the final bell rings.
You hear that! THE BELL OF VICTORY IS GONNA RING FOR ME!!”
The butterfly girl would drop the mic and the crowd went wild.
