The Viper's Throne
She giggled and took another slow sip of her glass. "In typical circumstances, it would be beneath me to personally address the nameless masses and multitudes who make up the audience of LAW but for this case, I have decided to make an exception. For those wondering for what purpose I would deign to make such an exception, it is merely to regale you all with a retelling of a classic fable. The scorpion and the frog."
Emaline snapped her fingers and out of the shadows, a pair of hands traded her glass for a book before slipping back into the darkness. At the same time, a spotlight appeared next to her throne to reveal a vintage record player atop a marble pedestal. With lethargic grace, she delicately grabbed the record player's stylus and moved it onto the disc, causing it to start playing music.
Record Player's Music: (Aria - Starcraft)
She glanced at the camera and snickered before turning her gaze back to the book. "The scorpion has a counter-point. It cited that it is against the scorpion's interest to sting the frog because if it dies, it would take the scorpion with it and they would drown together. The frog considered this logic sound and agreed to carry the scorpion across the river. Halfway through the crossing, the frog felt a sharp pinch in its back."
Emaline fell silent and allowed the music to hit the 1:23 mark. Her lips curled into a self-satisfied grin, she carried on. "The scorpion stung the frog. And while it grew weaker and weaker from the poison and sunk to the bottom of the river, it watched the scorpion swim the rest of the way across the river." She slammed the book close. "For you see, the frog was a fool who failed to consider the possibility that the scorpion may have lied." Then she giggled maliciously. "And LAW is full of frogs."
As the music swelled into its final crescendo, the camera slowly panned backwards while countless screens manifested out of the darkness. These TVs depicted the Emerald Viper in her sadistic glory, choking various faces of LAW with her thighs.
