Rough n'tumble

Mid-afternoon on a Saturday night the time was, it was difficult to say what the precise hour or minute was, but Alyssa had arrived her what she guessed would be an hour or so ago, though she might have completely lost track of time. Having spent her time doing warm-ups and then doing basic strength core training, trying to improve her physical core and keep her body fit and ready for further bouts.

She had come to LAW expecting to overwhelm the competition, but so far she had simply done...alright? Would probably be the right word for it. She had expected to come in an steamroll everyone, but so far she had managed to get some wins, but also some losses. Things were a lot more difficult than she'd thought and she the competition had proved to be a lot more capable than what she was had anticipated.

As such, she knew now that she would have to keep training. She had to keep herself going and do her best to reach the pinnacle, cause the upper echelon were the most well paid right?

Having just finished up a fair portion of her work out, she decided to go in and work the bag for a little while. Moving in as she would bounce lightly on the toes of her feet. She'd throw a swift hook, following through on her punch and pushing the bag back, before swinging out a pair of quick jabs and then returning to doing another strong hook. Working over the bag as for the moment she was stuck in her own head, not fully aware of the people around her in the gym.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the gym was a pink-haired little cutie who was already knee deep into her workout. It was one of the newer girls in LAW, Rosie Knuckles, who had her headphones in and she was quite in the zone when she was working out. She had focused a lot on cardio, working hard to improve it. She hated having to run out of juice in matches, and it actually made her rather pissed off, not that one first look at this girl would make anyone think it. With her hair tied up in a more playful bun in the back, wearing a t-shirt and sweats, Rosie was quite a cutie, especially with a rather happy smile at just being able to sweat to the tune of one of her favorite songs.

Of course, knowing anything else about this girl would prove looks were deceiving. Rosie Knuckles was actually quite an intense girl who would just as soon knock someone out as she would talk to anyone at the gym. This was her time, and as she got done with a more intense cardio/ab exercise, she popped back up to her feet and then pounded her own chest with a fist and shouted, "Hell yeah!" Then she exhaled sharply and smirked, catching her breath and loving the feeling of her heart pounding so hard in her own chest. Then, she looked over at a nearby mirror, checking herself out, particularly her rather toned midsection. It was something she was rather proud of, and she just smirked and nodded, satisfied with how it looked. Granted, it didn't exactly look any different than the last time she checked it out, but she did often like to appreciate it.

She walked over and grabbed her water bottle, taking a big swig of it and deciding it was about time to let out some of her aggression. In fact, it was always her favorite part of her workouts. She got to beat the hell out of something without any ramifications. What was better than that? With a confident swagger betraying her outwardly cute appearance, she started over to punching bags. As she got closer, she canted her head slightly, taking note of the blonde who was firing punches repeatedly into one of the bags. She noticed her form and the controlled strength behind the strikes and nodded, looking rather impressed. It was a rarity for the pink-haired brawler, honestly. Not many people actually impressed her.

Rosie decided to get a closer look and then walked over towards Alyssa. She settled against another punching bag, leaning back against it with enough weight to keep her upright. She continued to study the strikes and her routine and wanted to chat with the girl a bit. Usually Rosie didn't want to talk to anyone when working out, but she would rarely make exceptions. A girl with fighting fists like those just had to be someone to chat with. And, having some respect for people than anyone would want to admit she had, Rosie waited until Alyssa was at a break in her routine before she'd try to talk to her.

When that moment came, Rosie cupped a hand around her mouth and shouted, "Yo blondie! You got a sick hook! Are you pissed off at something or are you just a badass?" Knuckles winked at the blonde, smiling in a playful manner.

After finishing up her rep of punches, Alyssa's attention was turned towards the pink haired girl who was shouting at her, she would turn her head to look over at her and then canted her head to the side and look on at the loud pink haired girl. She would lean down and grab a hold of her tower by her bag and fold it around her shoulders, bringing the end of it to her face and rubbing her cheeks clean of the sweat that had built up.

She started to walk over towards the pink haired girl, not being fond of the yelling out through the gym. Going in close so she stood right in front of her. " Well, I'm not pissed and you haven't seen anything yet." Alyssa said with a wide cocky grin on her face. She would look on at the water bottle of Rosie and then give the woman a pat on her shoulder with the back of her hand.

" You mind sharing?" Alyssa asked as she would hold her hand out for the water bottle, if she was given it she would take to a few deep gulps of that water and then wipe her mouth with her forearm before handing back to bottle. " You know style when you see it, I can respect that at least." Alyssa said as she would take notice to the pink haired woman having noticed her technique, which probably meant that either she was some fight junkie or that she knew a few things of her own.

Rosie continued to lean against the punching bag and gave an amused grin at Alyssa's retort. She seemed to have a bit of an attitude on her, and usually the pink-haired brawler loved that. She wiggled her eyebrows at her, and paused when she requested a sip of her water. She handed it over without even a second thought with a simple, "Of course."

The cutie with the rough nickname, Rosie Knuckles, shrugged when Alyssa mentioned her know-how when it came to fighting. In fact, that's really all that Rosie lived for. It was practically her obsession, not that anyone would know with a quick glance at her. "Game recognizes game, babe," was Rosie's cool reply she said, half-lidded with a sly smirk on her lips. "If I see a chick who knows how to throw a good punch and keeps her body tight, I like to at least say hey." She winked at the blonde to accent her point before taking a moment to blatantly check out her exposed midsection before glancing back up with a friendly smile.

Then, Rosie held out her fist, clearly offering a fist bump of respect to the fellow gym-goer. "I'm Rosie Knuckles, by the way." She went with the nickname, mostly because the real name wasn't nearly as impressive. Besides, she had some cred to maintain, and it always started with a good nickname.

"Oh? You've got game huh?" Alyssa said as she looked on at the beautiful woman that stood leaning against that punching bag, sure she was fit...but she didn't look like any kind of seasoned fighter. Though Alyssa wouldn't make any serious assumptions just yet, not many would look at her and think fighter either. There were loads of pretty chicks that could take their licks here in LAW.

When she heard Rosie continue to speak, the blonde would simply smirk and chuckle out a little. Watching that wink as she would then see those eyes wandering. Alyssa would simply grin at the act, she didn't mind...as long as Rosie didn't get jealous that was. When the pink haired fighter held that hand out for a fist bump, Alyssa would shake her head a little, grin forming wider on her face as she threw her hand forward for a rather rough fist bump, letting their fists collide. " Alyssa Monroe." The blonde spoke out as she would say as she would grab her towel next and move to rub away some sweat from her brow.

" So, guessing you're a fighter here?" Alyssa asked as she would settle into a more neutral stance and place one hand on her hip as she continued to pat down her head a little to get rid of the sweat.

Rosie had looked satisfied at the crispness of Alyssa's fist bump, nodding approvingly with a grin. She hadn't heard of the blonde before in LAW, but then she never really actively researched any of them either. But when Alyssa asked her if she was a fighter, Rosie's face lit up with excitement. "Oh, you better believe it, Alyssa," stated the cotton candy-haired girl. She then adopted a brief stance and performed a few expert strikes in the air before popping back to a casual stance and hopping in place.

Then, she suddenly came to the realization and narrowed her eyes at the blonde, stepping closer to her and putting her hands on her hips. "Why?" questioned Knuckles, a mean glint in her eye. "Because I don't look the type, right?" She said the words with a little bit of annoyance. And then she paused and caught herself. Bad temper. Needlessly picking fights. These were things she always tried to work on.

She then stepped back and offered her a cheerful smile. "Kidding... just kidding. Obviously." Smooth. Normally she wouldn't care about ticking someone off with her own flippant attitude, but this girl seemed cool. She sort of wanted a good first impression. And despite being able to kick ass for many years and prove she's a great fighter, when people would underestimate her and think she's 'too cute' to be a brawler, it would still rile her up.

It was probably best to change the topic of conversation quick though before her blonde associate could catch on. "What about you? You decide to come all the way from Australia to fight here?" asked Rosie, misidentifying Alyssa's accent as she rolled her eyes up a bit to avoid direct contact with her and rested a hand behind her head, still feeling slightly bashful about her almost-outburst. An unintentionally cute sight, a description Rosie would probably hate.

Alyssa would tilt her head a little as the pink haired girl seemed almost offended from what Alyssa had said. The blonde would look a bit confused until she backed up and decided that she was only kidding. Alyssa would have been down to throw down if she had to, but she was also happy she didn't have to kick someones ass today. " Yeah, not what I meant. But whatever." Alyssa spoke out as she would bring her hand up and stroke her fingers through her bangs.

When she was asked if she came from Australia, Alyssa would shake her head and release a sigh. " Do i sound like a wallaby to you?" Alyssa let out as she would throw a stern glare towards the pink haired girl. She would close her eyes for a moment and compose herself. " I didn't come here from no Australia luv. I'm from the U.K." The British blonde would speak out.

She would shake her head a little. " How about you? Where you from?" Alyssa asked as she would use her towel to pat away a bit of sweat from her cheek and neck.

Rosie pouted her lips with a slightly annoyed expression as she was being corrected by the blonde. Not that she'd say it to Alyssa right now, but they sounded basically the same. Huffing a sigh, Rosie crossed her arms and glanced to the side. "Right, my bad."

The cotton candy haired brawler would then glance back to Alyssa when she asked where she was from. Her accent would have probably given it away if she were a U.S. native, but Rosie said, "America, obviously. From Philadelphia though." Not actually the city, but she grew up close enough to Philly that she would always say that is where she hailed from.

Knuckles then looked curiously at Alyssa and then pointed out, "But yeah, Japan is a long ways away from Britain. Why come fight all the way over here?" Rosie was somewhat curious of why the girl would come here. Knuckles had her own reasons for doing so, but she was always wondering why other people bothered to come all the way over here.

Alyssa would raise an eyebrow as she heard that Rosie was from Philadelphia, looking a bit interested in it now as she would perk up. She would let out a light chuckle as she heard that question about how she was a far way from Britain right now and asked her why she'd come here to fight.

The blonde would simply scoff a little. " Ain't that true for Philly as well?" She asked with a cheapish grin on her face, before she'd move up closer to Rosie and place her hands on her own hips. " Man, isn't Philly where Rocky's from? Like, I know it's fictional and all, but ain't you guys got a statue for that bugger?" Alyssa said with a little twinkle in her eyes. Clearly a fan of the Rocky movies, as those were stuff her dad had shown her when she was younger.

Rosie paused as Alyssa began to engage her more concerning her hometown city. She bobbed her head to the side, unable to fight back a genuine smile--usually a rarity for the cute brawler, before Knuckles answered, "Yeah, and he's not a bugger. He's a role model. He never gives up. He keeps kicking ass, and if he ever goes down, he gets back up, and he just keeps on fighting and fighting and fighting and--god, the best movies!" Rosie smiled happily before clearing her throat, putting a hand on her chest, trying to fight back her smirk. "...But yeah, the statue is cool. You can get pictures..."

The pink-haired girl would awkwardly glance around, not having liked gushing about one of her favorite movies before shouting out, potentially dumbly. "Ran up the steps a lot too! But it's whatever, just... you know, a movie," she stated, then muttered, eyes drifting to the ground. "...No big deal or anything." She added, wishing that literally anything about this awkward moment would end for her.
