"Mmphoo, HRAH! Phooo, hrt, gra!"" Tiki Lowell grunted with great exertion as she neared the end of her workout with squats. Each time she went down, her butt stuck out in her tight shorts as her knees bent at a perfect 90 degree angle. And each time she went back up, her chest bounced in her shirt as her body continued to hold and control the weight on her shoulders. She was hitting 115 pounds right now. 45 from the bar, and a 35 plate on each side.
That might not sound like a lot at first, but Tiki was not doing set reps. She could surpass 10 rep sets of 200 pounds by a comfortable margin. Right now, Tiki was going to failure as the final blast for her workout. It's a training method where one does reps at a relatively light weight, and simply does as many as possible before their body gives out and they fail a rep. Going to failure is used as a way to get every last drop out of yourself at the end of a workout before calling it quits.
Tiki hadn't bothered to keep count, and her spotter had lost track, but the greenette started to slow down considerably somewhere in the 30s. "Just put it down Tiki," the spotter pleaded. "You've already put in an insane amount today." But Tiki kept going.
"It's go to failure," she gritted through her teeth.
"Not got 'til it's hard." Then she hit the rep the spotter had asked her to call it quits on, and then hit one more before finally dropping to the floor, unable to continue. The bar clattering loudly on the catcher.
"I can hardly believe it," the spotter marveled as she racked the weights. "There's no way anyone I've ever spotted for before has ever lifted near that much total weight in a single workout. You can't really do this much regularly." Tiki breathed heavily on the ground, but was still able to speak.
"One of the lesser known reasons I consider endurance as the most important attribute. It let's you go farther both in and out of the ring." Tiki did have quite the workout schedule that allowed her to count herself among the middleweight's elite wrestlers. It was a nine day cycle. Day 1: upper body, Day 3: lower body, Day 5: Cardio, Day 7: full body blast, with days 2, 4, 6, 8, and 9 being rest days. But even then, she'd still work on her wrestling skills and technique on the rest days. The only true do nothing day she had was Day 8, after the full body workout, which Tiki had just finished. And sometimes she'd take Day 9 off as well if she was hit particularly hard by her past workouts.
"I'd say today went quite well. I wasn't sure about having a new spotter for my full body day, but I was worried over nothing," said Tiki as she pulled herself up with the aid of her spotter.
"I'm going to relax my muscles in a hot tub for awhile before heading home. Lord knows my muscles need it right now." The spotter left Tiki with a smile and a wave while the wrestler made her way towards the locker rooms with the stride of someone who was clearly sore.
"Ugh, it's already stinging to move around," Tiki whined to herself.
"I really did go all out today. I should definitely take that second day off." When Tiki called her workout the full body blast, she meant it. Bench, curls, lifts, squats, crunches, pushes, and pulls for every single muscle group in her body. On that seventh day in her cycle, Tiki truly got everything. Once she dragged herself to her locker, she stripped of her shirt, shorts, shoes, and threw them into her locker. She was left in nothing more than the bikini she was already wearing underneath her clothes in preparation for the hot tub. She grabbed a watermelon she had in her locker for a post workout snack, and made her way over to the hot tub.
But when Tiki made her way to the hot tub, she was dismayed to find the water at room temperature.
"Well," Tiki sighed.
"I guess the trade off for getting the hot tubs all to myself is that I'm the one who's gotta heat it up." Unbeknownst to Tiki, she was not completely alone with the hot tubs. This LAW gym had two rooms dedicated for hot tubs, Tiki was in the second room, and a certain little pink haired gremlin was in the first one. The walls for these rooms were also quite thin, so voices carried quite easily between the two rooms.
Tiki's body groaned against her as she bent over to boot up the hot tub.
"Gah!" So sore..." Tiki moaned in discomfort.
"I can h-hardly move my body. I really took that workout to the next level. I don't think it's ever killed me this badly this fast before. I'm just gonna lay down on this bench while I wait for the tub to get hot." Tiki slowly laid stomach down on a bench, and began to eat some of her watermelon. But even the act of bringing the fruit up to her mouth made her arms groan.
