Reiko

Classes were canceled at the dojo. The sensei was out on business and the dojo was closed for the week, leaving Reiko without a place to train. She didn't want to just go without training and wrist getting sloppy, she was a wrestler now. Not only that, she had some pride as a martial artist to keep up herself fit and in fighting shape. So, the next best thing was to try out the gyms of LAW. Reiko had came in a sleeveless gi and shorts with tape wrapped around her feet for footing. It was typically what she wore while at the dojo, and it got a few stares from the gym members, whispers of her traditional appears sounding around the area. Reiko paid it no mind though, finishing her stretching and basic exercises before heading over to the punching bag.

She took her fighting stance, circling the bag as if it was an actual opponent. "Hah!" She threw her palm at the bag, getting a small push off it. "Hm..." Feels weird to palm strike it. It wasn't like hitting a vital at all, she had no real place to aim. "Yah!" She kicked, nodding to herself as she got a bigger push, following with a straight punch. Alright, that works. It wasn't the same as punching or kicking a wooden pole, but it would work. And so she would go on kicking the sandbag, trying to work up a good sweat before moving to another exercise.

Casey hadn't had many matches despite being signed for a while, embarrassingly enough after her upset loss to that little cutie Rebecca her furious manager demanded that she train more first, though it was obvious that the training was just a punishment for Casey going into that match with a playful flirty mindset. What a dick that manager truly was, Casey would like to see him try to judge her after fighting her in a long and perverted match type. Not that Casey really cared about her punishment though, since she had gotten to Japan she had dropped most her other hobbies in favour of listening to music, going for jogs in the local area and spending her time in gyms.

Casey would be wearing a loose shirt and baggy soft material pants, the redhead hated nothing more than building up a sweat, so when she went to the gym she always wore similar styled clothes.

The redhead arrived at the LAW gym around the same time she always did, ready to blow time as usual. Casey very much enjoyed using the LAW punching bags to her hearts content, so she would do some quick stretches in the weights area before making her way over to her favourite section. Casey would be surprised to see someone else using one of them, most the striking sorts had their own dojos to train in and so the punching bags were usually unused. The only reason Casey frequented them is because she couldn't hold down a place in a dojo for long before getting kicked out for her severe lack of discipline.

Casey wouldn't be subtle as she watched the woman's exercise, it was interesting and the redhead had a tendency to people watch to the extreme if some spectacle caught her eye, and she certainly counted Reiko's technique among such spectacles. Casey wouldn't just sit and stare though, she would at least keep herself busy somehow as she went to a nearby section with some weights, it wasn't as expansive as the weights section she was at previously, but it would do. The redhead still didn't avert her gaze though as she watched Reiko, and she was likely close enough for the woman to notice whenever she let her attention slip from the target of her strikes.

"... ... ..." Reiko stopped her assault on the bag after a few minutes, feeling eyes looking over her. She knew that redhead was sizing her up, she saw her walk into the sandbag area and tried ignoring her stare to focus on her strikes. She tried, but that girl was practically analyzing her. "Tch," She gave one last combo, three straight punches and a pushing front kick before pivoting on her heel to face the girl.

"It's rude to stare, you know." She said, stretching her arms out. "I'm not leaving until I finish my workout. Sorry if you have an issue with that, but unless you're checking me out can you stop gawking at me."

Casey would be surprised to be addressed by the woman, the redhead had believed she was being much more subtle than she actually was. The redhead felt slightly guilty for disturbing Reiko's workout.

" Ah, sorry I've not got an issue or anything. I'm just interested in your technique. It's pretty entertaining to watch from the sidelines. " Casey would explain.

" I'll stop gawking at you though. " Casey would continue, knowing that wrestlers could have pretty bad attitudes, and she didn't want to be on the receiving end of one such attitude.

Reiko stared at the other, raising an eye. She wasn't picking a fight with her, she was even backing off and complimented her a bit. She frowned, looking away. Ugh, I made a bad impression again... I need to stop going into Amano-mode outside of the ring. She sighed, giving a more neutral expression. "It's fine. Sorry for being so hostile." She said. "Anyway, I take karate and aikido lessons at a dojo. I'm trying to go for an elegant, but hard-hitting style. Cool counter throws with some hard strikes thrown in when I need to be agressive." Which was often given her character. "Plus..." She took a calming breath, settling into a stance before shooting out a palm strike with a loud shout. She then exhaled, giving a smirk. "A kimono-clad warrior using Japanese martial arts is a pretty cool aesthetic, right? Like a female samurai often to battle.[/b]" She relaxed her stance, standing up straight before giving a bow.

"I'm Reiko by the way, Reiko Maizono, but I go by Amano when I'm in the ring."

Casey would listen as the woman explained her martial arts, clapping slightly and whistling in response to Reiko's samurai image. " Very cool! " the redhead would state. The redhead's amused expression exposing that her interest was genuine, as she nodded away when Seiko spoke

" I'm Casey, I hit hard and fast. I wonder how you'd deal with that? " Casey inquired, competitive curiousness coming over her somewhat. Though she hadn't intended to force a fight, and so would instead subtly mention the prospect of comparing skills.

"Heh," Reiko's eyes flashed for a moment, smirking at the statement. A clear challenge, and one too tempting to go unanswered. Looking at Casey's body it was clear she could fight. What kind of martial art or fighting style she had Amano couldn't guess. She clearly had training of some kind, but that was all Reiko could tell at a glance. Unlike her, Casey didn't wear her exactly dress like a traditional martial artist in shorts. I wonder if I could beat her? It had been awhile since her last sparring session at the dojo, and she could use someone to help release some pent-up frustrations. "Dunno'," She scratched behind her head, a mischievous smile on her face as the demon started to surface. "There's some sparring mats over there if you wanna' find out," She pointed over to the mats in question, looking back at Casey with excitement in her eyes. "Whaddaya' say?"

Casey's would notice Reiko's smirk, and would wonder if she had gotten herself a spar. it wouldn't take long for the other woman to warm to the idea, and even push for it before the redhead did; Casey would grin and give a response without much pause.

" Of course. I was hoping you'd say that. " Casey would admit.

" Ready when you are. " Casey said, before making her way over to the mats and waiting on her soon to be opponent. The redhead doing some stretches quickly to get ready for the match. Casey found it hard to contain her energy, but the match would begin soon, so she would compose herself knowing that she'd get the chance to use it up soon enough.

Reiko followed right behind Casey, rolling her shoulders and stretching as well once they were at the mats. She tightened the belt around her waist, getting into a stance. One hand was forward, open and ready to grab or counter, one was pulled back and clenched into a fist. She took one calming breath to ready herself, then grinned wide. "Okay, let's make this a serious duel Casey-san! Give me everything you've got and I'll do the same!"

Casey would watch as her soon to be foe got into position, and got into a pretty interesting stance. The redhead had fighting experience, but was moreso versed in wrestling and street fighting. The redhead didn't know what to make of the stance.

" Glad to hear it, and I'll make sure to alsoo. 3, 2, 1. " Casey would respond, before a slight pause, then counting down to signal the start of their spar. At 1 Casey would attempt to approach her foe from in front, making it look like she was going to attempt to lock up. Then the redhead would attempt to burst forward and hunch over and crouch slightly, hoping that would keep her out of reach of her opponent's range, however it would all depend on how fast Reiko could respond and move. Casey knew she would have to get through her opponent's stance somehow, and figured she would have the best chances by testing it out before, trying to come up with a counter.

While down low Casey would attempt to drop the mat and catch her opponent's leg in a drop toe hold. it was a fairly odd way to start a spar, but she favoured it over getting palm thrusted in the nose; or struck in some equally painful way, she figured it probably would happen if she had went for a grapple without knowing what she was dealing with. Casey had just seen what her opponent was capable of doing to a punching bag, and didn't want to take any chances in the opening.
