Working On Up

On the outside of the ring Dan was smiling. Her confidence was taking over and she was quickly learning everything he had thrown her way. He checked off a few things on the clipboard and watched the two women inside the ring.

Alaina clapped her hands and nodded as she stood with her hands on her hips. "That was impressive! The ring ropes are still shaking and that impact had some serious thunder to it Emilia!" Alaina said with approval as she walked up to the young wrestler. She gave Dan a nod and looked back to Emilia. "A promise is a promise. Ya want to get a slam or two in on me with some pictures of that and a pin? You got it." Alaina said as she stood there with her arms out, inviting Emilia to grab hold and lift away!

Emelia smiled breathlessly after her successful execution of the slam on the heaviest training dummy, Dan's expert advice proving to be a godsend to her previously sloppy technique. She beamed happily as Alaina complimented her, then offered her the opportunity for some staged slams and photo ops!

"Yes!" the young Norwegian blurted eagerly, nodding. "Thank you so much!"

With Alaina reaching out, ready to grapple with her, Emelia stepped into it and repeated her previous feat, this time hauling a real wrestler skywards! She exploded upwards again before turning her body and planting her heavyweight idol into the canvas!

Dan was on the outside taking pictures of the incident, enough for a sort of stop motion series of pictures to show everything in progress. Alaina for her part let herself get lift up and felt the struggle of Emilia to lift her but the power as well as she was lift high, parallel to the mat and slammed down hard on her back! Alaina winced in pain and kicked the mat a couple times to sell it although her body was genuinely hurting!

She rolled over and pushed herself up off her stomach back to her feet to look at Emilia. "Not bad at all! My back is gonna be sore all day from that one!" Alaina said, still rubbing her back as she spoke. She gave a nod to Emilia before speaking once more. "So what else are ya doing for your workout?"

Emelia succeeded in driving Alaina down to the mats, though she did feel a flash of concern as the woman's expression tightened into one of pain. For a brief instant she wondered if she'd done something wrong and actually hurt the wrestling idol, but those thoughts were quashed as Alaina bounded upright, the veteran unscathed.

She pursed her lips at the question of what was next. What next indeed?

"I'm not sure..." she glanced at Dan. "We've been working on grappling, footwork and slams. But it's all been with the dummys. Maybe we could practice together in a spar. Only if you have time. I... I don't want to trouble you!"

Alaina smiled and nodded. "I think I can do that. Dan can observe and take note on what the two of you can continue to work on in the future. However I will warn you I won't go easy on you in the spar. Are you ready for the amazon in between these ropes?" Alaina asked as she stood up, flexing her arms and trying to look imposing.

Dan on the outside began to ready a camera so he could record the spar, take notes and review the actual match footage with Emilia at a later workout. Even before Alaina showed up he knew she was going to improve but this would help her out immensely.

Back in the ring Alaina stood in the center, waiting for Emilia to ready herself before sounding the bell, allowing Emilia to make the first move!

Intimidating as Alaina was, Emelia still felt comfortable sparring with the legendary wrestler. Although she didn't really expect to win, she knew that she needed to try and practice her moves on a live target rather than a sparring dummy.

"As ready as I'm going to be," she replied taking up her stance opposite the Amazon in the practice ring. She bent her knees, arms outstretched before Alaina sounded the bell.

Immediately Emelia rushed forward and tried to meet her heavyweight trainer in a grapple, looking to put her newfound skills to good use and maneuver Alaina back towards the ropes.

Alaina felt Emilia grapple her and her forward momentum plus her footwork led to some progress made on Emilia's part! However Alaina tensed up and halted her progress, using her strength to halt Emilia's attempts to push her back! "Great form, but I am a lot bigger and can do this!" Alaina said as she crouched low and instead tried to be the one forcing Emilia back into the ropes instead! Alaina would press her against them to make a bit of a statement before allowing Emilia to force her backward.

"Try this one next time..." Alaina added as she allowed Emilia to push her back a few steps only for Alaina to roll backward and stick a leg into Emilia's abdomen to monkey flip her overhead, using Emilia's momentum against her!

At first things seemed to be going well as Emelia advanced against the wrestling veteran, shoving hard to gain an early advantage. However, Alaina's greater strength soon became apparent - after a few steps the Amazon swiftly halted Emelia's momentum and shoved her back the other way. Before Emelia knew it she was the one pressed against the ropes!

She struggled in the hold and eventually managed to push back out of the ropes... or so she thought. As she tried to surge forward suddenly Alaina fell into a backward roll, planting her foot against Emelia's abs and heaving her off her feet.

"WAAGHH!" she yelped, caught totally by surprise by the monkey flip that sent her flying head over heels! She crashed to the mat unceremoniously and rolled, before struggling upright, blushing from the simple turnaround that Alaina had executed on her. "Wow," she murmured, rubbing her back. "I didn't see that coming at all..."

Alaina stood up and let Emilia get up to her feet on her own. She was ready and trying to get into a grapple with Emilia once more as soon as she looked ready. Instead of pushing Emilia Alaina was keeping them in place while trying to maneuver her upper body and arms to get in position for something. "Okay, lets see how your work is here...." Alaina said as she tried to purposefully but slowly move to get her hands on Emilia's hair in order to turn around and snapmare her over her shoulder! If it worked Alaina would do two more to disorient the young wrestler.

Smarting from the sudden monkey flip, Emelia scrambled back to her feet feeling slightly flustered, and faced Alaina again, moving in to accept the lock up from the veteran wrestler. She could feel that Alaina was trying to hold her in one place and she tried to shift her footing, attempting to dislodge the other woman. However, she lacked the strength to brute force the Amazon out of the way, and she was so focused on trying to move her footing that she didn't register Alaina's shifting grip around her hair until it was too late.

In the blink of an eye the young Norwegian was send tumbling as Alaina executed and expert snapmare, following up by two more in quick succession that left Emelia reeling, on all fours as she tried to get her breath and her senses back!
