Training from A Veteran

Unread post by NeoSmug »

Sabine hammered the punching bag, throwing her right hook followed by a swift left jab. As the bags chain squeals, she’d grab hold of it to fire her knee into the center of the bag, sending it flying back from the impact. It comes back, stopping only by Sabine’s palms, she pants softly having now broken into a sweat after spending a good bit of her afternoon work out on the bag.

Sitting on a nearby bench, her gold gaze surveys the room, for the most part it’s empty, the floor littered with weights and a ring set up near the back. She takes a rough swig of water before patting her forehead down with a towel; tossing it over her shoulder.

After a couple minutes, Sabine stands back up on her feet, looking around the room to think of what to do next. She thinks she could go another round in the bag but she’d rather train with something that hits back. Her muscles were already toned, what she really felt she lacked now was experience.

Aurora was a woman who quite often frequented the gyms which LAW offered or the gyms which LAW had partnership with which allowed their wrestlers to workout there. With how large the roster was they couldn't exactly fit all of them in a gym if every decided to make this day a workout day. In Aurora's case, she spent quite a bit of time here, after all if she wanted to keep up with all the young and spry wrestlers in LAW she had to put in the work to make sure she lived up to her nickname. She also liked to take the time to scout out talent, and more often than not she came across people who her nieces had rivalries or other connections with.

Today, Aurora had decided to forgo wearing her own branded workout clothes. She wore navy blue Adidas yoga pants and a matching top, accompanied by the stripes that Adidas clothes usually had, in this case white. Her hair was let loose for a change, it usually was tied up into a long ponytail with a bit of a braid around the base but today she had decided to just allow it some freedom.

She walked around a bit in the gym, as she had recently got her. She only planned to do some weight workout today. Lifting, bench-press and so on. Though as she scanned her eye across the local she saw a woman who reminded her a bit of herself. Spitting image almost of Aurora in her younger days. The veteran watched her strike the bag for a few moments and then as she came to a stop she would place her hand on her chin and start to think, working through what she had seen the woman give in terms of strikes to the bag.

Walking forward she would approach the woman as she rose up to her feet again. " Excuse me. I couldn't help but notice but. You might get a bit more heft to your punches if you follow through. It's cliché but you know, put a bit more of your weight into it." Aurora spoke up, she wasn't really sure why she decided to give pointers to this woman. She maybe would have for anyone but usually she would just go ahead and do her own bit of workout unless she wanted a sparring partner. Though right now, she seemed to mostly just be trying to give some friendly helpful advice.

Just as Sabine was about to pick up her routine, she stopped hearing a bit of friendly advice. She turned to meet the voice only to find a blonde woman, just as big as her. Sabine had to be surprised with how similar the two looked as if they were distant cousins or something of the like. Her cheeks redden just a bit, at the thought of getting posters on the basics. ”Ah..oh, you are right. Iz funny, zometimez you forgettz ze bazics.” she replies eyeing the punching bag.

”Zorry. Itz hard zo find ze motivation when it doeznt hit back.” She jokes. Sabine took their build in for a moment. If she had to guess the woman had to be late thirties maybe early forties but she had to admit, they looked good for their age. ”Um. My name iz Zabine, Zabine Winter. Iz nice to meet you…uh?” Bow she felt awkward as she stuck her hand out to properly greet them.

Sabine could feel a strong energy with Aurora. She felt the urge to challenge them, a call to arms to wrestle and find out if she was as strong as she thought it was their still climbing she’d have to do.

Aurora had wondered if she should give such basic advice, though for the moment the woman seemed as if she needed it. Some people might be offended by such advice but Aurora was pleasantly surprised to see that this woman wasn't. She would nod her head and throw a bit of a smile towards the woman who looked awfully similar to her, though considering her accent she could only guess that she was German? At least from Northern Europe, meaning that it wasn't too strange they had some similar features.

"I understand how you feel." Aurora replied with a bit of a joking tone, catching the sight of the woman checking her out for a moment. She didn't mind, in fact a part of her was proud of how in shape she was for her age so she didn't mind if fellow wrestlers or even fans let their eyes linger for a bit. Seeing the fellow blonde bow and offer her hand for a handshake, Aurora would smile and nod her head.

Reaching forward and clasping a firm hold of Sabine's hand for a strong handshake. " Aurora Lund. Pleasure is all mine." The veteran spoke out as she would give a hardy handshake to the younger wrestler. " I haven't seen much of you in LAW yet. Are you perhaps new?" Aurora would ask, wondering why she hadn't heard much about a wrestler who looked decently similar to a younger version of herself.

“Yez, I just started not to long ago. Iz been nice zo far.” She replies, her time in LAW had been short but it was interesting, especially when one came across competition like this. ”I’m zorry, I don’t mean to interupptz your training.” Sabine adds. She felt like she had gotten in their way but she had so much she wanted to know and learn. Maybe she could learn a thing or two from them if they were willing to help. Should she ask though? They might not even have time for her anyway.

Aurora would tilt her head a bit at the comment about interrupting her training. She honestly didn't mind, instead she chose to take advantage of the situation and look the newcomer up and down. There was a bit of similarity between the two of them now that she looked a bit closer. While you might not mistake them for twins, maybe related?

The veteran would shrug her shoulders a bit. " Don't worry about it. I don't mind." Aurora would look up at the ceiling for a moment, as if she was weighing some options or thinking something over. She would nod to herself as she seemed to have come to a decision. " I could actually use some help if you're interested. See, I have been itching to find a sparring partner, would you like to fill that spot?"
