Another day, another match... is what something Cynthia would be saying if she was booked today. Sadly that is not the case for her. The matches were exciting, to say the least, but it was more fun to be in the ring herself. Cynthia was walking around backstage, for no particular reason. But a reason eventually found her in the form of her fans. Cynthia was the type of person to never shoo away her fans. So she entertained them, it was like a mini hangout. It took a while but she was finally able to leave her fans. With that she found a spot where she sat on a bench and took a deep breath, luckily Cynthia also found a tv that was showing the matches today. Spoiler
"Oh Gods... I hope I didn't goof it up somehow..." Erika sighed as she walked down the hallways of the venue L.A.W choose for the event of the evening. She had been asked by the promoters to shoot a small video pack for future promoting uses. Nothing too out of the ordinary, just a few lines and gesture for the camera, the editing crew will do their magic, blah blah blah... Nothing too exciting for anyone that has been on this business for a bit. But for Erika, being in front of the lens of a camera that wasn't taking a family photo was very much a first. She had to re-do a couple of times and even after they got something they were apparently happy with, she couldn't help but doubt how well she really went. Maybe she came off as too unnatural, or too awkward, or even like she was trying way too hard to be cool and intimidating. The last thing she needed at the start of her career definitely was a reason to be not taken seriously.
She decided to stop thinking about that matter for now, and simply enjoy the free day she was given to just walk around backstage and do whatever she pleased. No interviews, no televised or dark matches... Just a day to rest. And while Erika appreciated the free time, just hanging around would get stale pretty fast. Thankfully, she spotted a fellow wrestler sitting on a bench and watching some matches. Feeling like this was as good as an opportunity as ever to make a friend in the locker room, she walked towards Cynthia, giving the seasoned wrestler a small wave with her right hand. "Hello. Would you mind me taking a seat?" While one could question why she was asking for permission to sit on a public bench, it was clear she was just trying to be polite in her own awkward way.
Cynthia still looking on at the matches on display. Cynthia focusing on the matches could not necessarily tell that someone was approaching her. It was then when Erika approached Cynthia and took her focus away from the matches. Oh yes my apologies, you can take a seat. Maybe you can look along with me at the matches on right now.
Cynthia said gesturing to the seat making sure to be kind about it. Giving it that classic smile of hers that tell people everything will be alright. Pardon me, my name is Cynthia by the way
Erika was relieved that the wrestler was welcoming to her approach, happily taking Cynthia's invitation to watch the matches. She was glad to have something to do on this free day of hers and the fact she had someone with her made it all the more worthwhile. Besides, it wouldn't hurt at all to see what was happening on LAW and get to know any future opponents and rivals. But once the wrestler besides her quickly introduced herself, Erika's mind went back to her early teens for a quick moment.
To the times her brother was still training to be a wrestler in the backyard of their home in Germany, on a makeshift ring he and their dad build together, and she only watched him in amazement as he flipped and ran into the ropes. While helping her mother clean the house as was her duty for the day, Erika stumbled upon the various wrestling posters plastered on her brother's wall. One of them had a tall and toned woman striking a pose with a catchphrase written with vibrant colors, followed by the wrestler's name...
"Cynthia, huh..." Her face twisted into a frown for a moment, as she reminisced about her brother. She would return to her normal self quickly enough, but the pause was noticeable. With a smile, she turned to talk to the blonde wrestler. "It's a name I remember from quite a lot ago. That must mean you are quite the remarkable name in the industry by now as a veteran, I bet?"
Cynthia was quite the veteran indeed, her career longer than many people's lives. To that claim, some on the law roster were still in diapers while Cynthia was still going at it. Sometimes Cynthia's name precedes her, forgetting how much of an impact she has had on the scene herself. It was still jarring to have fans of Cynthia tell her where they were in x match took place and their age. Sometimes it hurts thinking Cynthia has been going at it that long. Now here she was seemingly with a new wrestler having a swell time looking on at the other matches. That is when this wrestler would speak up noting Cynthia's veteran status A veteran huh? True I have been around a long time. If you remember me from a time long ago then I must be getting hold Cynthia said laughing at herself
