First Impressions are Everything! (For Lunaspark)

Alice Starr

"Go! Hey! Come my way! Today's going to be a beautiful day~"

Alice was bouncing around in her seat on a local transit bus, singing along with one of the songs on her phone. She was probably creating a bit of a scene, but she was just so over the moon she just couldn't help it. It didn't take a well-trained eye to see that Alice could hardly contain her excitement. She had just recently signed up with LAW, and she was on her way to the arena to do a small self-tour. Finally, she had a great opportunity to live our her dream of being the cute magical girl she always wanted to be!

She was so in her own head that she almost missed her stop, but when she realized her mistake she shrieked out and pushed the button. The bus driver only barely slammed on the brakes, jerking all of the passengers forward.

"Sorry, sorry!! This is my stop!!!" She called out, jumping to her feet and running towards the front of the bus. She hopped out the door down to the sidewalk, turned around, and waved to the bus driver, who was already closing the door. "Thankyousomuch!!!" she cried out as the bus pulled away, with at least a couple of the patrons giving her stares or a dirty look from the window. Alice didn't seem to notice, however, she was still in her own little world.

After the bus pulled away, she turned around, her eyes lighting up when she saw the LAW arena off in the distance. Ignoring the butterflies gathering in her stomach, she walked inside, taking in her surroundings. She wandered through the hallways, stars in her eyes as she got herself acquainted everywhere. The gym, the locker rooms, catering, it all looked like such a nice place! She could already tell she was going to spend a lot of her free time here -- she was going to train, she was going to practice, maybe she'd even make a new friend! The possibilities were endless for her here in LAW, and she was absolutely elated.

Xifeng Zhou

Heading through the backstage portion of the LAW arena was one Xifeng Zhou. The short Chinese girl had just come from LAW's on-site gym, and her body was glistening with the sweat from her long, arduous workout. She was feeling good, though. She had pushed her body to the limit, and she felt great over it. There were few things Xifeng loved more than a good workout, and she had made sure to have a damn good one today!

Soon enough though, her eyes fell upon one of her other favorite things in the world. A victim.

She paused, as her laid eyes on Alice, watching the blonde girl bouncing around the hallways. Alice seemed...bouncy? Bubbly? Energetic?

Annoying. It was definitely annoying.

Deciding to have a little bit of fun, Xifeng approached her, picking up her pace to catch up with Alice. As she neared her, she called out to the girl, putting on a playful, friendly tone.

"Can I help you? You seem lost..."

"Eep!" Alice jumped a little bit, clearly having been startled by the Chinese girl's greeting. She quickly turned around, her blue eyes lighting up when she saw Xifeng. Potential new friend alert!!

"Aaah, hi there!!" She exclaimed, raising her hand for a quick wave. Her tone was just as bubbly and friendly as the one Xifeng put on, except hers was completely genuine. "My name's Alice, Alice Starr!! I just signed up with LAW and I'm here to check out the place!"

As Alice told Xifeng her name, she twirled around and brought her hand up to her face, doing her best attempt at a magical girl pose.

"How about you, what's your name? I love your hair colour by the way!" She began to reach up and brush her hand through Xifeng's hair, but she quickly stopped herself. As excited as she was to make a new friend, she didn't want to seem to come across as "weird". Instead, she opted to hold her hand out for a handshake.

Xifeng hesitated with her answer, slightly confused by Alice's words and slightly taken aback by her ridiculous amounts of energy.

"You...signed up with LAW? As an interviewer, or backstage help, or...?" She was honestly curious about what Alice was hired by LAW for. There was no way that this girl was a wrestler, right?

"I am...Xifeng." She smirked, and took a half step away from Alice, folding her arms over her chest. "I am the Phoenix of LAW, or at least I will be once I make my debut. These other girls around here do not know what I have in store for them, but once I get into the ring, I am certain they are going to learn."

She raised an eyebrow at Alice's handshake, but for the sake of feigning friendship, she reached out, and took the girl's hand, firmly shaking it as she waited for a response to her question for the newcomer.

Alice giggled a bit at Xifeng's question, bringing her fist up to cover her mouth a little as she did so. When Xifeng accepted her handshake, however, her face lit up a little bit brighter.

"Ah, that's really cool!! It's nice to meet you, Xifeng!" She shook her hand vigorously, and Xifeng could feel firsthand just how much her hands were vibrating with energy. "Nah, I'm a wrestler too! I'm LAW's resident magical girl, and I'm on a mission to spread kindness and happiness and to defend those who can't defend themselves!!"

Alice closed her eyes and began to happily sway back and forth, though she was still holding on to Xifeng's hand. "Oh gosh, we're both new here, this is going to be so so so much fun!"

It took every ounce of strength that Xifeng had to keep herself from laughing. Poor Alice didn't know what she was in for!

"The magical girl of LAW? That sounds like a pretty big thing!" She answered the blonde, smiling sweetly at her all the while. "Say...I know a few magic tricks of my own. Would you like to see them...?"

Alice's eyes snapped open when Xifeng mentioned magic, and she perked right up.

"Aaaaaaaaaa that sounds so cool! I definitely want to see, please show me!!!" She let go of Xifeng's hand and took a step back, her big blue eyes intently staring at the Chinese girl in front of her as she waited to see her "trick".

Again, it was taking everything Xifeng had not to laugh. Alice was making it so, so ridiculously easy for her! She couldn't have asked for a better opportunity than this!

She kept her sweet smile on her face, and pointed up, gesturing at her face. Okay. I know a disappearing trick. Can you close your eyes for a moment? I need you to close them so I can get things set up, okay?"

Alice nodded enthusiastically, jumping up and down. "Yeah!!! Absolutely!!!!"

She closed her eyes tightly and brought her hands up to cover her eyes. "Ready when you are, I can't wait!!!" Even though she was stationary she was vibrating with excitement, blissfully unaware of what was about to come next.

Xifeng couldn't have asked for a better opportunity than what she had just been given.

When Alice closed and covered her eyes, the young and vicious boxer drew back one of her arms. She let her fingers curl into a tight fist, watching Alice for a few seconds longer. The girl was so eager, so excited, so naive. Xifeng would have to teach her a lesson about that.

After a moment's more of waiting, Xifeng suddenly struck. Her arm rushed forward, going low, as she aimed a stiff punch straight to the center of the young girl's stomach, the Chinese boxer driving her first hard towards Alice's belly!
