Double Takeuchi Trouble

Unread post by Teenwrestler »

No one could say that the Takeuchi siblings came from humble beginnings. Born with silver spoons in their mouths, it was no wonder that their attitude reflected their upper class upbringing. Neither Ami nor Daisuke could be classified as the 'humble' person who grew up with everything but rather were the classic 'holier than thou' duo. Ami's rise in the pro-wrestling world was much accredited to her brother Daisuke, who helped her settle in the business and was the reason for most of her victories. She even became a world champion in their previous promotion (AFW) thanks to a little help from Daisuke. While Ami did not find the same level of success here at LAW, she still had a pretty good track record. Some may say that the reason for that is because of the lack of involvement of her brother, now that Daisuke was no longer actively helping Ami in her matches, she could no longer win the tougher matches.

"Motherfuc..." Ami hissed to herself, almost muttering the swear word until she bit her tongue and stopped herself. There she was, leaning against one of the backstage area walls and scrolling through her phone while reading an article about herself about how she could no longer win matches without the help of her brother or boyfriend. Her latest victory came over Army Rodriguez, where she again had to enlist the help of her boyfriend Bryan to do so. That win only gave the writer more fuel than they needed and the old question surfaced back up, 'could she do it on her own'?

The bluenette was seething, getting more and more upset as she read this blasphemous content. The grip on her cellphone became more and more tighter and at one point she wanted to smash it on the floor and stomp down on it. That is until she heard a familiar voice.
Daisuke

"Konnichiwa, Imouto-chan" Daisuke would say while approaching towards her. He could sense the anger in her eyes, the frustration in her expression and despite all that, he only offered a devilish smirk aimed at her direction while greeting her. Ami would look up towards him for a moment before bringing her hands towards her face and gently brushing the bangs of her hair backwards to compose herself before offering a similarly devilish smirk back towards him while slightly leaning off the wall to stand up straight.

"Oh, Konnichiwa nii-san. What are you doing here?" she would say, sighing a bit. "Oh nothing much, I was just passing by and I saw you so I thought I'd come over and say hello. I've been hearing that you've been getting into some....trouble?" he would say rather nonchalantly. "Oh?! Trouble? Me?! Hahaha!" she laughed before waving her hand towards Daisuke. "Well, guilty as charged I suppose but mmmmm, nothing I can't handle of course" she would say before leaning back against the wall and pulling out her phone and scrolling through it once more.

Daisuke would raise his eyebrow and approach her, gently using his finger to lower her phone which made her raise her head up towards his direction. "Huh?" she said while she watched her brother smirk towards her. "I know you think you don't need anyone around these days to help you and....well, you probably don't! But, in case you ever do and your boyfriend isn't around...you know you can always count on me" he said. Ami would simply offer a kind smile and nod in response.

"Okay good. That's all I had to say. Oh, and I saw your match against Army. Good job. But I think you may need to hit the breaks on picking fights with everyone, I heard about your little twitter spat over the open challenge." he said shaking his head and rolling his eyes. "Hah, don't worry nii-san, I told you- it's nothing I can't handle. I won't let these pathetic losers get the better of me. Ever." she said back. "Mhm, Mhm, right" he said as it would appear he was just about ready to leave.

had just finished shaking out his wrists when he cut across the hall, towel slung around his neck, gym bag bouncing against his hip. His shoulders still glistened with the sheen of sweat, hair damp and pushed back, the slow rhythm of his steps the only sound as he made his way toward the locker room. It was late, quieter than usual backstage, most of the roster either gone for the night or still lingering in their circles.

That’s when he saw her.

Ami. That blue haired "Supermodel" girl from online.

He’d scrolled through enough of her posts to know the name came with baggage. Body shaming, mean little barbs, supermodel tag and all. Things that made plenty of people roll their eyes or bristle. He wasn’t immune, either. But Mateo wasn’t the type to jump on the pile without seeing the truth for himself. He’d been judged enough in his own life to know how ugly assumptions could be.

So when he spotted her chatting to an unfamiliar face with her phone in hand, bathed in the glow of the screen, he slowed. For a moment he just watched, measuring, catching the way her expression as she switched between her phone and conversing to this other guy, who she seemed to have rapport with.

Maybe the mean girl thing was all kayfabe. Maybe not. Only one way to find out.

Mateo pulled the towel from around his neck, draped it over one shoulder, and stepped in her direction with the kind of quiet, deliberate presence that made it clear he wasn’t passing through by accident. He didn't want to ambush the two so he leaned into his footsteps, letting them be audible on the slick floor

“Hey,” he started, voice calm, the faintest rasp in it from his time in the gym. His dark eyes settled on her with open curiosity, not accusation. “Ami, right?” He glanced at Daisuke's direction as well, giving the man a nod.

He gestured casually, half a shrug, half a question. “Sorry if I am interupting but do you have a moment? Saw you here and figured it might be talking to you face to face instead of behind a screen.” His eyes flicked to her phone, then back to her as he flashed a charming boyish smile.

That would be the end of their brief conversation. Daisuke knew that Ami preferred to go solo these days, which was fine because he would want the same for himself. However, he just had to remind her that help was just a corner away if she needed it. With that, Daisuke would turn his back to his sister and was about to walk away until he heard a man say hello. He would turn back towards Ami, where the voice had seemingly come from. He expected Ami's boyfriend Bryan but he didn't sound like that all and he definitely did not look like that either. Daisuke would eye the stranger from head to toe, not sure what he wanted with his sister but he did seem to know who she was albeit he had no idea how he did or who he was.

Daisuke ignored his friendly nod, pretending as if he never noticed it. Ami on the other hand would pout and then lower her phone downwards as she would see who approached her. She instantly recognized who this was, it was that Mateo guy from her twitter post. His first post seems to suggest that he was too naive but his second post did seem to suggest he had a little backbone to him! Despite that though, his greeting did not seem hostile at all and maybe he had not learned his lesson. Back in the day, Ami would pretend to be the nice ditzy girl to gain his trust but those days were long gone. Nowadays, it was her true nature from the start.

Ami would cock her head to the side, placing her finger on her chin and seemed lost in thought. "Hm?! Do I know you?" she would say, acting like she had no idea who this man was when clearly she did.

Mateo offered a small, apologetic smile, lifting his hand in a polite little wave before letting it drop back to his side. There was nothing confrontational in his posture his shoulders were relaxed, his voice low and steady—but there was a hint of quiet confidence beneath the calm.

“Sorry if I’m intruding. Mateo Salinas,” he introduced himself evenly, the name spoken with just enough weight to make clear he stood behind it. He gave Ami’s brother a respectful nod before turning his focus back to her, his expression still warm but a touch more thoughtful. “I’m new here, so it makes sense you wouldn’t recognize me yet.”

He chuckled lightly then, rubbing the back of his neck, an easy, almost boyish gesture that softened the moment. The grin lingered for only a second before fading into something more earnest. “I wasn’t looking for trouble, honestly. Just figured, since I happened to bump into you, I’d ask something that’s been on my mind.”

He tilted his head as if weighing his words, shoulders lifting in a mild shrug, though his dark eyes stayed steady on her. “The stuff you post online… is that just a character you’re playing, you know, something to stir the pot…or is that really you?”

Mateo’s tone never sharpened, even with the bluntness of the question. He didn’t lean in or crowd her, making a point to leave space between them, but the curiosity in his voice was clear. Not judgmental, not accusatory, simply probing, honest, and impossible to mistake for anything but genuine interest.

The guy seemed quite the professional, the way he was acting was an indication that he was new here. In fact, his behaviour seemed to suggest that he was new to the whole pro-wrestling world but Daisuke could not be certain of that. Ami, meanwhile, completely ignored his greeting and continued to be glued to her phone. She made frowning and angry expressions while aggressively pointing at her smartphone screen. The wrestling prince rolled his eyes at Mateo's nod before leaning against the wall and crossing his arms under his chest. It was pretty apparent that the guy was here for Ami, he wouldn't blame him either. He had just to wait and see if Ami would put him down gently or not.

Ami would slightly turn her eyes towards his direction but she kept her head facing the screen of the phone. She pretending not to be listening to him or paying him attention but in reality she hearing everything he had to say and observing his body language. He seemed like a nice guy, a little bit too nice. In fact, the word she was looking for was gullible. When he mentioned that he wanted to see if her acting the way she did online was an act or her true self, she really had to hold back her laughter.

That line made Daisuke chuckle as well, as he shook his head. When he was finished, Ami took a couple of seconds as a dramatic pause before turning towards him with the most innocent of looking expressions as she cocked her head to the side and said "Huh? Did you say something?". Daisuke would smirk and roll his eyes, this poor guy had no idea who he was dealing with.

A year or two ago, Ami would actually mess with him. Use her nice ditzy girl attitude to lure him into thinking she was a nice and sweet supermodel, but those days were gone. There was no point hiding in what was inevitably bound to be exposed as most wrestlers and the crowd, at this point, knew the real her. Maybe though, it was time for a chance of pace. It would be too easy to start insulting him, cursing him and letting him know that she was that bitch. While she was not going to deny that, maybe it wouldn't hurt to give someone a break.

"Oh relax! Hahaha just look at you! why so worked up and tense huh? I'm just kidding- well, about the not listening to you and not knowing who you are. Buuuuuut everything you just mentioned, mmmm yeah- it's pretty true. That's the real me, no playing pretend and whatnot." she said in a rather cheerful tone as she would lean in towards him, placing her arm around his shoulder as she pulled him in towards her.

"Anyways kiddo, why are you soooo interested to know that huh?" she would say before pinching his cheek.

Mateo blinked when Ami finally turned her attention on him, her sudden swing from aloof dismissal to cheerful cruelty making his brow quirk. When she draped her arm around his shoulder, he tolerated it, barely, his expression tilting as though he were studying some strange oddity from another planet. But when her fingers pinched at his cheek, a dry chuckle slipped from him. He casually brought his hand up, the back of it brushing hers away without much effort. If she pressed the point, it was clear he’d apply more force to remove it.

“I see,” he said evenly, though there was no mistaking the edge of disapproval in his tone. “That’s a shame to hear.” With a small roll of his shoulders, he shrugged off her arm, his posture loosening again once the space was his own.

“Like I said, I’m new here, so I don’t really know your whole…” He gestured vaguely toward her with an open hand, as if the words escaped him. “…thing. But there’s no reason for the grade-school antics out here. People bust their ass to get out there and entertain. The fact that you’re not just nasty but seem so proud of it?” He gave a soft shake of his head, letting out a long sigh. “It’s ignorant children stuff. Honestly, it’s kind of pathetic.”

Mateo leaned his weight back and took a half-step around her, not looking rattled so much as mildly irritated. More than anything, his expression read as disapproval, the kind someone reserved for wasted potential. After a beat, though, his gaze returned to hers, steady and resolute.

“Look, Ami. I came up in this business where we police ourselves out here. I don’t care if that’s how you want to brand yourself, but if I catch you treating people like garbage again after today, online or otherwise… It won’t matter what pics you post, the likes you have, or how many followers you get. You'll see me in the ring. And I promise you, I’ll straighten things out the old-fashioned way.”

Most men would melt, would fall head over heels for Ami when she would even so much give them a little bit of attention. She could have been much crueler, but she rather tried to let him get off easy. She figured if she would lean in close, act a little cute by pinching his cheek and lean against him, he would probably just let it slide and get on with his life.

But oh no, this one had spunk. He was not going to be easily fooled by the supermodel's charm. First, he would shrug his shoulders to gently force her arm off his shoulder. Then, with the most delicate of touches- gently move her fingers away from her cheek. Ami would raise an eyebrow, confused as to why he was trying to push her away. Did he know who she was?!. Well of course he did, that's why he came to speak to her. Mateo's words made the bluenette gag, she was absolutely sickened by the nonsense he was spewing before her. However, she would not interrupt him at all. In fact, she would stay silent and stare right at him, with a serious expression on her face and allowed him to finish whatever he wanted to say to her. She found it rather admirable, that he would step up to her while her brother was right next to her, and say all this holier than thou speech.

It was kind of cute but mostly pathetic. These ideals meant nothing to her.

Daisuke had heard enough, it time was time to kick this guy's ass for daring to even step up to his beloved sister and then taking such crap. As he moved away from the wall and started to walk towards Mateo, Ami would stand in front of Daisuke and stretch out her hand to block Daisuke's way. She was not going to let Daisuke interfere in this. "Honkidesu ka? [Are you sure?]" he said, to which she replied "Ā,-sōda ne [Oh I'm sure]".

With that, Daisuke would smirk at Mateo. "Heh see you later kid" before walking away from the scene. Now, it was just Ami and Mateo. The supermodel would stretch her arms up in the air and lean back against the wall, faking a yawn. "Ugh, so you're own of thooooose guys huh? *groans*" she said rolling her eyes.

"Nice speech and all but I do what ever the fuck I want. You can keep your virtue signaling to yourself. In fact, now that you've actually mentioned it. I'm actually going to double down on treating people like the trash they are and they can thank you for it. Oh, and guess what are you going to do about it? Not. A. Damn. Thing." she said in a cruel manner with a evil smirk.

Mateo met Daisuke’s stare without flinching, his jaw tightening just enough to show he was ready if things got ugly. He shifted his weight forward, subtle but deliberate, planting his feet as though the hallway floor were a canvas and he was waiting on the bell. He didn’t puff himself up or bark a word, didn’t need to, his eyes alone told the story. If Daisuke stepped closer, he’d find out fast enough that Mateo wasn’t built to roll over.

When Ami waved her brother off, Mateo let out the faintest breath through his nose and eased the stance out of his shoulders, rolling them back and rubbing the side of his neck as though brushing away the tension. He kept his eyes on her, though, watching as she leaned back with her cruel little grin and self-satisfied tone.

Her words washed over him, and he listened in silence, patient but unimpressed. By the time she finished, he gave a slow shake of his head, the sort of shake that came from genuine disappointment rather than anger.

“Guess we’ll see about that,” he said at last, voice even but steady. His gaze never wavered. Mateo let that hang in the air between them, calm but unyielding, before taking a step back as if to let her decide whether she wanted to keep poking or actually walk away. If she had wanted to spark a loud reaction or catch him running his mouth, he seemed content to give her no satisfaction.

It seemed Mateo did not get the hint. She was giving him a free pass, trying to act somewhat nice in her own weird way. However, it seemed the young man was not in a mood to play these games and only wanted to know if she was like the way she was in reality or was it just some persona. Once he got that answer, he was all business. Even threatening her not to continue with her bullying otherwise she would hear from him. At this point, Daisuke was ready to throw hands with this punk until his sister stopped him. The bluenette was quite confident that she could handle this situation by herself. It had been a long time since she last needed the help of her brother and she intended to keep that streak going.

Ami would brush his empty threats away, instead doubling down on her attitude. She fully expected him to get rattled, maybe talk back or even straight up challenge her but none of that came. Mateo would silently to listen to everything she had to say before offering a rather ominous response. His response did irritate the supermodel, how dare he talk all that nonsense and then when she called him out on all that- he had little to offer in terms of a response. She was taken aback by that.

"Tsk?! I-is that all? HAH, you're really just going to walk away after spewing all that crap? Tch, figures! If you're man enough then you would have put your money where your big mouth is and at least challenge me to a match! But noooooo, you're just going to walk away like a coward! So much for your white knight b.s. speech." she scoffed.

Mateo didn’t rise to her shouting. If anything, her little tirade only made his brow lift and his lips flatten into the kind of look you’d give a spoiled kid throwing a tantrum in public. She wanted fire, wanted him to snap back and give her more fuel but all she got was quiet, steady eyes that carried disappointment more than anger.

He let her words hang in the air, then rolled his shoulders loose like he was shaking off the weight of the whole exchange.

“You think restraint makes me a coward?” His tone was calm, almost conversational, but there was an edge to it that didn’t let her mistake his intent. “No, Ami. Restraint is what keeps me from being another loudmouth who swings just because his pride got poked. It’s control. It’s discipline. Out there, it’s what keeps a wrestler standing long after someone like you has burned out.”

He gave a small shrug, but his eyes stayed locked on hers, unwavering. “You wanted me to bark back or rush at you? Sorry. That’s not me anymore. Not going to puff out my chest and throw a gauntlet at your feet for you to pick and play with. Instead, I gave you a chance to be better... But don’t lose sleep over it. If you keep treating people like trash, that match is going to happen sooner rather than later. And when it does?” His grin returned for just a second, faint but enough to make the point. “No tantrum or pout is going to save you.”

Mateo’s expression softened, but not into kindness, into something firmer, more resolved. He shook his head, almost as though he couldn’t quite believe he was wasting breath on this.

“Restraint isn’t weakness, Ami. It’s strength. You’d do well to learn the difference.”

With that, he stepped past her, posture straight, not hurried or heated, just certain. The kind of certainty that didn’t need to shout to be heard.
