"So, my dad was a wrestler. Not a big one, more of a jobber, who wrestled all over the world. My mom used to come to matches and was kind of a fan of his, rooting him on in his losses. Eventually he took notice... and then ditched her after a night together, leaving the country entirely. She never saw him again, nor have I ever met him. But, all this time later, just a few months back, right after I graduated high school and was trying to find a job, he sends me this letter. Basically saying he felt guilty for being absent in my life, and saying the only thing he could offer, if I wanted to accept it, was a list of contacts of people he knew at LAW, who could train me and get me a contract. Rai suddenly snapped his fingers, as he realized he left out an important detail!

"OH, plus, get this: I didn't learn this until I had already joined LAW, but I found out that I was FAR from the only child he abandoned, apparently he sent all of us the same letter, so I've actually got a few half siblings who have joined the league too. I've never had siblings before, so I'm pretty excited about that too!"

It was at that point Rai realized his "bullet points" had grown into something much longer, and he chuckled awkwardly. "Sorry, that was probably a longer answer than you were expecting..."

Especially with his attitude to having learned that he has family out there, despite how scummy it revealed his father to be.

"Sorry, that was probably a longer answer than you were expecting..."

"No, you have nothing to apologize for. You..." Geez. There was so much to say about this, that it took her a few moments to figure out where she should begin. She supposed it was the only real place to start from. "I can only imagine how hard things must've been for you and your mother. You're a good man, Rai." Not a boy, a man. Tears were beginning to well up, but she'd hold them back, though a brief sob would come out in spite of her efforts. All of that could come later, in another conversation.

She finished her shower, and after she was out, she dried herself off as quickly as she could. It would've been a perfect opportunity to show herself off to him some more, yes, but she had something much more important in mind. When she was done, she'd leap into bed, right beside him, and then...

It was funny. Rai never thought of himself as having a hard life. A lonely one, sure, but he never wanted for anything and never went hungry or anything. Her next comment about him being bound to get snatched up made him giggle a bit. "Well... we'll see about that. I uh...don't really have the best luck with women at all, until today at least. But anythings possible I suppose." He said with a soft smile. While he knew he could be naive, he wasn't completely dumb. He caught her wording, realized the boundary she was putting up, and accepted it with ease. Frankly, he was amazed he was getting to meet someone as kind and empathetic and friendly as Alix at all, much less everything else that had happened between them this day. He had no expectations of her actually wanting to go out with him, nor would he have even had the courage to ask her out even if he thought he had a chance. All in all, he was just glad they'd met at all, and if they were just friends after this, awesome, he made a friend!

That got him. Right in the heart. He cleared his throat before speaking again. "About that...before we uh...begin. I just wanted to say...thank you so much for today.
