Here Comes The New Challengers! (Feat. Lucielle Costa and the Crimson Legacy)

Continued from here.

This was a great start to Lucielle Jeannette Camara Verninac Pardo Costa's new job. Just last week, she'd been selected to conduct an interview with Alix Jacques. A top name in the world of pornography even today, years after she left the business. To be honest, she'd not only never seen any of the woman's work, but didn't even know who she was until she was handed the task. Outside of the gay stuff, pornography was something that Lucielle never had any interest in.

The straight stuff was filled with garbage where the woman's pleasure was clearly an afterthought, if it was ever thought of at all. The quote-unquote "lesbian" genre was filled with garbage involving women who clearly weren't into other women. Most of them couldn't even be bothered to cut their nails before sticking their digits into each other. Yikes.

She was aware that there is good stuff out there, but there wasn't enough of it being made to keep her watching when she could easily go out and actually live out the scenarios that are shown on screen. But she'd do her due diligence like anyone worth their salt would, and come to find that Alix was the real deal. Some of it was really hot too: She'd bookmark a few videos from the "Captivity and Rapture" series; use them to glean ideas for when she finds somebody she really clicks with.

To get back to the point, in a promotion as rife with sexuality as LAW is, Alix more than belonged. And she had a following the entire world over. Millions of fans, not only of her porn, but of the alternative modelling, and the erotic wrestling she did for the Erotic Combat Club, which had itself drawn many eyes for being an actual nightclub that hosted it. So many, that they were able to get a late night television spot to go along with a website.

Talking to her about her intended branching out into Standard wrestling was just what she needed. Thanks to some self-proclaimed prince, it only lasted a few minutes, but there were already a fair number of fans talking about the hot new interviewer, with some asking the question of why she wasn't stepping into the ring herself. Little do they know...

The brief interview turned out to be one of the most popular segments of last week's show. After it led to an impromptu Ironperson Oil Submission match, how could it not? Good thing she chose to show up in that cute outfit of hers. She wanted to be ready in case Alix wanted to show the LAW Universe any moves before she found herself a match. Lucielle would wear something more casual tonight, however. She hadn't been assigned to any segments. Not yet, anyway. But it wasn't always about waiting around for the jobs to come to you. The best paid attention to the product and made their own opportunities.

The bespectacled brunette spotted one such opportunity when she caught a tornado contest between two debuting teams -- The Crimson Legacy and the Pool Party -- with the additional stipulation of there being a swimming pool on the side of the ring that was missing ropes. She didn't catch the entire thing, but there was a camera man sitting idly by in the backstage area, just waiting to be nabbed for something. Thanks to him, she was caught up to speed after she went to speak with the booker. She was watching too, and had taken a moment to talk to another team about a match with the victors.

In a showing of initiative, she requested to talk to one of the pairs. Or even better yet, both of them. Next week's opponents had gone off to do...whatever, but since she had a mic in her hand and a crew member ready to go, she was given the green light to catch up with them, if she could. Others in her place might have wanted to wait for something more solid, but Lucielle knows the business. She's worked it from both the outside and inside of the ring, and followed her gut feeling to a spot near gorilla position.

Chances are, if she could catch the Akamatsus and get them talking long enough...

"Olá pessoal! This is Lucielle Costa here, bringing you the scoop on two hot new additions to the LAW roster, the Crimson Legacy, fresh off of a victory in a Tornado Tag Team Poolside match! What's next for them? Let's find out!" And right on cue, the Akamatsu siblings emerged from behind the curtain. She'd call out to them..."Kyo Akamatsu? Makie Akamatsu?" In order, from the elder to the younger as she approached. Maybe that bit of trivia knowledge would make them more amenable to giving the people the scoop she'd just promised them. "Lucielle Costa. Nice to meet you." If they were to accept it, she'd greet them both with handshakes. "Congratulations on your victory! After such a spectacular debut, the fans are clamoring to know more about the Crimson Legacy. Do you two have anything you'd like to say to them?"

Kyo had been hoping to find a towel back here in the gorilla positon: after having been unceremoniously dunked underwater by the Pool Party in their match (and nearly drowned by Jenny in the process), Kyo was now uncomfortably damp. Makie wasn't much better, though she didn't seem to mind as much. Maybe that was because she somewhat liked the way the fane ogled her glistening body after the match. Kyo for one could have done without the unpleasantness of having just come out of the pool like that.

It took them a while but they finally found towels backstage. As Kyo was busy drying himself, however, something unexpected happened: a woman in a tightly fitting sweater and dress came up fron out of nowhere, and immediately started throwing interview questions at him. For a moment, all Kyo could do was stare, like a deer caught in the headlights, as he suddenly found himself in an unexpected interview.

"Um..." was all he could manage at first in response to the women's question. "Well--"

Makie immediately jumped in to the rescue. "We are so glad you all tuned in for our tag match!" she declared cheerfully, flashing a V-sign to the camera. "We love that you all enjoyed it, and really appreciate you all cheering us in the end! Buckle up, LAW, because Kyo and I are just getting started!"

There were many differences between Kyo and Makie. Among them was the fact that Makie was a lot more media savvy than her brother.

Lucielle knew then which one to keep the mic on. Tag teams were funny like that, oftentimes having only one mouth even when they both spoke. Either it was one of the partners, or whoever they had managing them. Rare was the occasion where both could work it. And siblings were never amongst those rarities. Now that she'd thought of it, she'd make a note to look into the why of that sometime.

Back to the original point, Lucielle knew how to move; of those subtleties that masked her intentions. They'd both get their time in the limelight, but her focus was devoted to the younger Akamatsu sibling. Younger, livelier, newer to the sport, having more to prove; that's where the juice is.

"Confident words! Do you two have any specific teams in your sights?"

The mic remained focused on Makie, and so she took the time to enjoy the spotlight while it was on her. "Hell yeah!" she declared. "There are a lot of tag teams here in LAW that I'd love for us to beat in the ring! Like the Red Nation, for instance! If they think they they have an advantage just because there are five of them, then they have another thing coming! Besides, WE look way better in red!"

"I actually hope at some point that we get a chance to take on the members of the Akan Clan," Kyo added. "They are all extremely tough wrestlers, plus our family and theirs have a history of--"

"And the Masked Hearts!" Makie went on, cutting her brother off as though she hadn't even noticed he had been speaking. "And for that matter, the Pristine and the Cool! I mean...they're both really cute..." Her cheeks blushed a little as she admitted that on camera.

Kyo showed a slight bit of irritation at having been interrupted, but stoically went on. "Las Superstrellas are another really good team I wouldn't mind a match with," he continued. "Or maybe, at some point, the Kildahl sisters, or the Thundergirls."

"Or BlazeWave!" Makie added dreamily.

"Or the Rising Sun."

"Or Onagashima!"

"Or the Wings of Wrestling."

At this, Makie perked up. "Oh really? The Wings of Wrestling, hmmmm?" She leaned in close to Kyo, an evil grin on her face. "Have a bit of a crush on Ducky Williams, do we bro?"

Kyo's eyes widened. "W-what?!" he stammered, his face going red. "N-no! I only mentioned them because they are an extremely skilled tag team--"

"Suuure. I bet you'd love to tangle with both of them in the ring!"

"D-dammit, Makie, we're in the middle of an interview!"

And with that, the interview began to descend into sibling bickering as Makie continued to relentlessly tease her brother, the actual interview itself having been momentarily forgotten about.

The Red Nation, the Akan Clan, Kidahl Sisters, and all the others...All good, tough teams. The next question was set to ask itself.

"Guys! Guys!" But Lucielle would have to interject first, both verbally and physically, with a step in between the two. Not directly, but close enough to make her impossible to miss. "Guys." She had a quick chuckle at that; "You two remind me of my brother and my sister back home." And she really ought to call them. It's been long enough since she's been employed in LAW.

"But back on topic, those are all some strong teams. What approach have you taken with your training that gives you an edge?" One thing that Lucielle learned very early on in her career as an interviewer is to be calculating and precise with the words she packs into her questions. Phrasing like this? Placates the ego. Presents her as already being "on their side" and gives them a chance to flex.

Both Kyo and Makie were brought back to reality as Lucille stepped in between them. Kyo, for a brief moment, felt a pang of embarassment that he and Makie had just engaged in sibling bickering live on TV, not that it mattered that much to Makie. Lucille mentioning that it reminded her of her own siblings, though, allowed them both to relax a little again.

The next question was much more straightforward. "We both practice a training regime that has been in our family for generations," Kyo said with a smile. "This includes, every day, alternating hours of strength training and cardio, followed by at least one or two hours of technique training."

Makie rolled her eyes. "You mean almost every day," she muttered.

Kyo sighed in response to this. "With exceptions allowed if someone wishes to hang with friends in Akibhara," he replied, not changing his tone at all. "Extensive sparring is included in this training. Admittedly, when we can, we also welcome sparring sessions with other fighters, to diversify our training and get practiced at fighting different opponents."

"It's definitely served you well against the rather unconventional Pool Party, and no doubt put the more traditional teams on notice! Speaking of which: Wings of Destiny. The Kildahl Twins. The Akan Clan." Lucielle let a brief beat pass after that last mention, for a little bit of dramatic effect. She was aware that both teams would have eyes for the other in particular. "Your ambitions fit your name! We've seen the both of you in your share of singles matches, but would you say that you're looking to continue your father's legacy more through tag team wrestling?"

The question caught both of the siblings off guard. Even though their name was essentially "the Crimson Legacy," and they had banked a lot off of the image of their late father-- the infamous "Crimson King" Keichii Akamatsu-- they both had different ideas of how to go about it. In many ways, this was partly because their parents' deaths were still a bit of a sore spot for them.

"I...um...." Makie began uncertainly.

It was Kyo who quickly took over. "In more ways than one, we're continuing our father's legacy through our wrestling careers," he said, "and I like to believe that he'd be proud of us. But I am also hoping that we ultimately end up forging legacies of our own. To be one day thought of as more than just the children of Keichii Akamatsu."

Kyo nodded at Makie as he backed off, and Makie in turn seemed grateful not to have to say anything at that moment. Hopefully, that answer would be satisfactory.

It was a tough question yet Kyo’s professionalism saved the day. The crowd was liking what they were hearing. But just as the Akamatsus were hitting their interviewing stride, they were suddenly interrupted.
”Well well, what do we have here? I wasn’t informed that there’d be an interview. Did anyone tell you, Jade?”

Two tall identical twin women entered the camera’s view. The other one, Jade, checked her phone in an exaggerated manner.
“Nope, Oria. Nothing here about an interview of a top tier family tag team.”

The unfamiliar voices caused the siblings to spin around. Two tall, dark skinned women suddenly came sauntering into the shot, crowding the siblings like a pair of predatory wolves. They were both fit and muscular, and this and their athletic attire both made it abundantly clear that they were wrestlers. Kyo tensed, immediately bracing himself for a possible attack, though making no overt gestures. Makie also watched them with a mix of wariness and fascination as the two twins both moved into the shot.

"Um...can we help you?" Kyo asked. "We're in the middle of an interview, but if you're lost..."

"I don't think they're lost, Kyo," Makie interjected meekly. She was increasingly seeing this ambush for what it was.
