After a Debut

"Okay!" Mizuki nodded to Nikki, looking back up at her, and as she did her smile grew wider. While the brunette might have been unsure how well she could measure up to anyone, she could at least feel safe around Nikki. After all they'd been through, in just one short night, Mizuki knew she could trust her - both to not hurt her, and to be someone she could rely on for the help she needed.

Though she had offered a handshake, Nikki did one better, pulling her into a hug. Mizuki's face went red at this, not expecting anyone to show her much in the way of affection - and certainly not here among her coworkers at LAW. But she soon settled into her touch. Something about it felt safe and calming. She didn't know if it was just that she had faith in Nikki, or the feeling of the warmth and softness of her body stirring something in her...but she was happy for it.

"Yeah! See you too!" Even after Nikki turned away, leaving Mizuki back in the hallway, she stood there with the paper in her hand. She had already seen what it said - but that didn't matter. What mattered were the emotions that Mizuki found herself striken with, emotions she ne. To truly have a friend here, in the place where she perhaps felt the most over her head...

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
