Days of Debuts: Ember Days (D) vs. Hitomi Nakamura

Hitomi had been practically pacing in the gorilla position as she waited for her cue to make her entrance. The self-professed Apex Predator of LAW and relative newcomer had not been in a good mood. Her debut match went not as she expected nor desired and she now had an opening stigma she wanted to wipe away. What happened on her debut was a fluke, nothing more she just needed a warm up match to adjust to the speed of LAW matches nothing more nothing less.

And as the cue to her theme began to play, that was just what she aimed to prove as she soon climbed on stage as her full theme began to blast throughout the arena.

Hitomi made her way to the stage, a determined look as she had her dinosaur mask adjusted as she made her way down with purpose. That nervous energy of her debut was replaced by what could be best described as a paranoid fire; eager to prove herself and make up for her shameful first showing to the LAW faithful.

Not that she cared what these perverts thought of her, but the principal of it all was what mattered.

Hitomi would make her way to the apron as she climbed up scanning around at the capacity crowd before she climbed through the middle rope and moved to the center of the ring. No attempt to play to the crowd, her focus was on her opponent and nothing else as the relative newcomer prepared to square off with a true fresh face making her debut. Fitting really, she had her debut spoiled and now she had the chance to do the same to this newer girl. It all was a wonderful circle in that sense.

Hitomi made her way to the corner, as her eyes focused on the entrance stage as she waited for her opponent to make her entrance.

What do people do on debuts? Do they pray to some god? Shadowbox? Nah! Eat some slippery noodles in a plastic bowl. Sodium! Salt! Um… Beef mixture! All culminated over some pasta thing—the right way to be a smooth operator. At least, that’s what her manager said - a finely dressed mystery with lavender hair and suit, twiddling his thumbs and checking his phone. And with her opponent's music beginning to thunder its way through the arena, her attention and heart were stolen!

“Aaahh, hey! I hurr-that-fra-somewurr! Keee-wl!” Ember yelled with a full mouth, swallowing hard as knocks came from the door. “You’re up! Hurry! You’re about to miss your cue!” A worker spoke, completely catching her off guard. Bitterness pinched her throat, igniting it. She hacked a bitter cough, stumbling from her stool, dropping the bowl and grabbing the door’s handle. With a quick twist, she threw the door open, rushing out after a final wave and goodbye message. “Right, shit. See ya later, ali-baker.”

“Well - ALRIGHTY then.” Said the confused Mister Baker. Twenty seconds of solid sprinting followed, coming to the gorilla position and immediately looking left towards a producer, “Hey. You got my jam?”

They nodded, “Right, right.” Ember returned the gesture, “Then what we waiting for? Let's get goin!”

Ready? Set? Music! (I kinda just chose something random)

Ember’s foreign tune filled the L.A.W crowd, and the redhead’s presence followed soon after. She became frozen by their stare, swivelling her head left to right, tapping one foot as her fingers curled and unfurled. Flashing a toothy grin, she looked left with wide eyes, pointing to the ring before bursting down with an explosion of energy. She didn’t stop. Slipping underneath the bottom rope, she thrust her palms against the mat and shot up, jutting her foot forward to reclaim a lateral balance. One hand found the rope, holding it as she surveyed the crowd’s eagerness. Did they like it? Who knows. Who cares, right? She’s craving some action. But like all rookies, she couldn’t appear like fodder talent on her first go. So, she’d be setting out to make an example, even if the crowd was simply eating up her looks. Black short-shorts, a white shirt with buttons on both sides, a red cropped vest, black thigh-highs over black boots and a black leg strap. Not traditional wrestling wear, but hey! There was no way she’s wearing a singlet.

Pulled on her onyx gloves and ruffling up her scruffy red hair, she made headway towards her corner and leaned against the turnbuckle. She crossed her legs, giving a two-finger salute to her opponent, who stood on the opposite sides. They didn’t seem like anything frightening, but the masked visage drew some curiosity, making her tilt her head and stare.

Without banter, the referee only had one thing left: to ring the bell.

Hitomi naturally tried to appear as unemotive as possible behind her reptile mask as she wanted to come off as cool and in control while she scanned her coming opponent. Whatever she expected from the newcomer seemed to not match up with the reality as this Ember Days came in like a house of fire as she wasted no time.

Literally like she had lightning coming out of her you know what the girl dashed from the state to the ring which caused Hitomi's eyes to widen behind her mask. She may have called herself the Apex Predator but she wondered if this girl had literally been part animal.

Regardless, she soon enough faced her and as the bell sounded the beast assumed her "intimidating" stance as she folded her arms over her chest and cast a glare at the more energetic girl.

"Hope you are prepared, cause I intend to show you no mercy!" Hitomi called out, as she gave her voice a certain raspy quality as she figured that worked to make it sound scarier as she hoped to rile the newcomer as she moved to the center of the ring to begin this contest.

This time, it would be her hand that'd get raised in victory.

Time slowed down for Ember Days before the bell. She was really here, huh? This was actually happening. This being her first L.A.W appearance, she could only recall her state ten years ago. Bed-bound. Now, here she stood, one diamond chance, and by god, she’s going to impress. Surreality gut-punched her again when the bell rang. She paused in place. Eyeing her opponent’s tall posture, sharp words that decreed her intentions, admittingly daunting. For a second. Her head turned, cocking a brow but also sporting a lopsided smirk. Ah yes, those words - just the inspiration she needed to kick off from the ropes.

“Aye, don't you worry, I’ll be folding ya’ regardless!” After pulling on her glove again, she came forward.

“Let's do this.” Donning a loose stance, she bent her knees, peppering the mat with her feet as she hopped foot to foot. Faced with her opponent, she thought it ceremonial to tie-up. At least attempt to. If she could, she’d flex. Legs powered by steam-engines suddenly kicked in, uttering a growl as one foot tried stomping forward. Then another step; and another, again. It became apparent if Ember Days had her way, they’d be going straight to the corner, vying to put her strength on full display!

Folding you? What did this girl think that the Apex Predator was some piece of clothing or something? Needless to say Hitomi had not known how to take the insult even if the confidence of her opponent was all too clear as she seemed confident in her chances of victory which Hitomi seemed to almost take offense to crazy as it sounded.

Hitomi would work to put this rookie in her place, ignoring she was on her second match herself, the principal stood!

"Oh yeah we'll see who folds who." Hitomi spat, as clearly the dinosaur enthusiast had not developed much in the way of clever trash talk but with this win she aimed to work on her one liners as a secondary goal. At the moment she worked to lock up in the tie up and began to push onto it, though was shocked as the girl seemed to have deceptive strength and began to push her to the corner!

Hitomi's eyes widened, she bit her tongue and worked to grind her heels on the canvas as she tried to hold her position and push back with all she had to try and avoid the corner or even put pressure on Ember.

Ah, debuts. She'd almost forget about that: rookies, veterans, the low-card, mid-card, and main-eventers. It didn't matter. When she entered the match, the world goes silent. The crowd becomes mere noise like it were background music. Hitomi was her sole focus. Their look made her feel giddy inside, a chill too. So serious too, meeting her quip blow-to-blow. She loved it!

"Ohh, ho. Fucking hell yeah! That's the spirit!"

And as Ember and Hitomi locked their limbs and flexed their might like bulls, Ember offered nothing short of a grin. After the initial crash, she made a lightning thrust, jerking forward and outstretching her foot, hoping to gain another stretch of ground. Their pace slowed to a crawl. Her breaths slowed, shaking in each push, then hastened until she fumed like a bull.

Though their tangle was adrenaline-inducing, Ember saw it pertinent to gain early control. Thus, she reared back her leg, then shot forward, aiming her knee to punish their stomach. Simple, yet effective. Should success find her blitzing strike, their fronts would mesh into a brief union before Ember capitalized with a big shove towards the turnbuckle.

Hitomi cared not for the spunk the debuting girl seemed to have, as all she cared about was exerting her own power and will. Which proved difficult as it seemed Ember's spunk equated to her effort as she pushed with equal if not greater drive than Hitomi which allowed her to gain that initial step on her.

However, Hitomi had began to push back, and it seemed she was slowing if not stopping her advance, and as she moved a foot forward she aimed to press her own push and really begin to drive this upstart back!

"Ha is that all you gaaaaaagggg!"

Hitomi cursed when suddenly she was met with a knee to the gut which did cause her head to jerk forward and briefly caused a true face to face meeting as she was stunned by the blow. Which allowed Ember to shove her to the corner in quick fashion as she slumped with a slight "oof"

It didn’t matter that they matched blow to blow; she had a thrill. They were two raging bulls locking horns, throwing each other back, then forward again, eager to prove themselves the stronger combatant. Ember Days used this yearn to drive home a knee strike, pounding their flesh like a hammer upon raw meat. She met her eye-to-eye, enough to get a good dose of their race before shoving them into the corner.

Once they slumped, she took three steps back, sliding her heel across the canvas and transitioned into a lunge. “No... Goddamn...”

She broke into a dash, jutting her shoulder forward like a polearm.

“MERCY!”

Right then, she’d reach the corner - whether her shoulder smashed into Hitomi’s chest or kissed solid padding was up to fate now. The only thing was absolute: there was no stopping her path.

By contrast Hitomi had not felt much thrill out of this match. She wanted to be on top, to prove her poor showing on her debut was a fluke and she lived up to her own nickname. To show this newcomer who was boss and rub her superiority as the superior "species" to this foe as her spunk & spirit seemed to sicken her.

Though she was more upset at how even this match seemed to be, and now that she was forced on her backfoot to break it.

"Ngg, you little bitch..."

Hitomi cursed, but had little less time for anything else as after being shoved in the corner as she then saw Ember charge at her at rather quick speed which caused Hitomi's eyes to widen.

"Sh....gah!"

Hitomi coughed out as her chest was slammed in by Ember driving some air out of her lungs.

Their standoff did well to gear her heart into action, but Ember Days proved a little more cunning in this exchange, kicking their gut and sending them packing into the corner, then smashing their chest with a full-speed shoulder ram. Ah, it felt like America. Not so much the barn brawls or the scalding outdoor matches underneath the California sun. Maybe it was just Hitomi? Pinned against the corner, wedged between one redhead and a turnbuckle; both are unmovable. It all just clicked.

“You ok, honey? Psshh, don’t answer that; I don’t care!”

One hand shot upward, seeking to cusp their chin. If applied, her elbow jutted, then straightened, trying to tip their chin skyward and expose their chest. Not in the perverted sense. Though she stared, Ember’s second arm waved high, narrow like a claymore’s edge. Her elbow loosened, then she came down to chop Hitomi’s right on the collar. “BOOOM! Hell yeah!”
