Mona dug deep into her readings while she waited backstage before her upcoming match. She needed reassurance. Reassurance that her decision to agree to this hentai match would not lead to as much indignity for her as turning it down!
But she was not getting the clear answers she wanted. Mona pulled a few more cards while she sat cross-legged on the floor. Temperance? That didn't make any sense when it came to the match. The Sun? Pointless! The Lovers? Mona grumbled her frustration and stuffed her deck away, just in time to get her warning that she was due for the ring.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!"
She frantically got up and went about sticking her shoes on over her tights and setting her cloak and hat in place. It would be fine, fine! It was just that this type of performance made her nervous, and it was the first time she would ever be a part of a match like this one. One that wasn't private anyway.
Mona arrived later than the stagehands would have wanted but was on time for the start of "Dancing in the Shine." After taking a second to doubt herself again, she wore her best confident astrologist disguise and strolled confidently out onto the stage and ramp. Her stardust was sprinkled from her fingers, her fans were wooed, and Mona convinced herself that she was prepared to
perform, without any show of her own weakness!
It was when she recalled that she didn't know who her opponent was, right around the time she laid eyes on Amber, that her self-belief was shaken again. Mona didn't know anything about this woman!
She stared at her all the while she slid into the ring. Judging. Figuring her out. She was pretty. Real pretty. Athletic looking too. Fresh faced.
Mona's confidence returned. She might have the experience advantage here! Good, very good. But she should test this Amber. Learn more.
She cleared her throat.
"It's Amber, isn't it? I'm sorry to tell you, but destiny is on my side tonight!"
