Lauren Fredericks vs. Sakura Ariyama

Lauren was ready to try to continue to bounce back. She was tired of being seen as a jobber for the roster big and small. Tonight she was going to take the fight to the new woman, sorry for ruining her debut but determined to get the job done herself! The 37 year old woman had been ridiculed for being out of shape by some fans, and by a good bit of executives. They said she wasn't a draw and didn't generate money or revenue the way her younger, more fit, prettier counterparts could.

Tonight she was going to slam her way back into the picture. She wanted to get a title shot someday, unlike her title match for the Losers Title to reflect just how little people thought of her. Once her music began to play Lauren came bounding out into the arena as she was all smiled, holding her arms out as the crowd cheered moderately for her, although a few fans were sort of a cult following of hers cheering loudly for the old underdog in the ring! She climbed up onto the apron and through the ropes, posing in the middle of the ring by flexing her impressive arms before settling into a corner. She was not going to let some kid halt what little momentum she had built after a noted losing streak!

Sakura bit her lip, nervously fidgeting about. This was her first “real” match. Sure, Hayami-sensei was able to get Sakura in LAW and Sakura wasn’t so modest as to deny that she was probably Hayami’s best student in the class. The rookie sighed several times, but it did nothing to calm her nerves. A soft hand then grabbed Sakura’s shoulder and the rookie turned to the hand’s owner. It was her friend, Tokiko.

“Don’t be so nervous, you’re going to be fine!” Tokiko said with a sweet smile.

Sakura grinned back. She was glad she managed to get Tokiko backstage access. “Thanks Tokiko, I feel better,” Sakura replied, before biting her lip. Tokiko caught and giggled as a small blush flushed across Sakura’s face. “Well… mostly better.”

Another giggle escaped Tokiko’s lips. “Sakura, you’ll be okay. All you can do is your best. And knowing, I’m sure that will be enough!” Tokiko assured, squeezing her best friend’s shoulder.

Sakura nodded, her grin beaming brighter. Tokiko always knew what to say to her. Before she could reply, someone backstage barked, “Ariyama! You’re up!”

”Got it!” Sakura replied before turning to her friend one last time as she rushed to the stage. “Wish me luck!”

”Good luck! You’ll do great!

With a grin on her face and one last sigh, Sakura burst on stage as Lotus Juice’s and Shioko Hirata’s “Break Out Of…” began to play over the cheers of the crowd!

“And her opponent. From Fukuoka, Japan… making her LAW debut, Sakura Ariyama!” The announcer introduced as Sakura made her way to the ring.

Appearance

Excitement soon mixed in nervousness as Sakura took in the rush of the crowd, high fiving fans as she moved down the ramp. She even went over to give a young girl in the front row a small hug, grinning at the girl’s reaction. This was going to be a night the young fan was never going to forget.

Sakura arrived to the ring, sliding in. She posed for the crowd once more as she noticed her opponent. A blonde middle-aged woman, looked flabby but Sakura suspected that her foe had a lot of power. Not to mention that she had what looked like to be at least forty pounds and nearly half a foot on Sakura.

“Well, Hayami-sensei said this life was never going to be easy,” Sakura thought. Regardless, she made her way to her opponent and began to introduce herself. “Hello! I’m Sakura Ariyama…” Sakura began as she then blushed. “But you probably knew that…”

“Anyways,” Sakura recovered as she offered her hand. “I’m happy to be your opponent! Here’s to a good match!”

Lauren was happy to see that Sakura seemed to be a good natured opponent, smiling as she shook her hand. "I did know from the announcer but its all right. I will try not to slam you too hard." Lauren said with a wink, giving a playful taunt of sorts. This woman was a kid to her, so young and full of energy. Lauren was going to have to take that out of her quickly if she were going to win. Still, while Lauren was trying to show the world she wasn't some jobber she also didn't want to crush the career of a kid before it started.

As the bell rang Lauren would waste no time at all in starting things off, lunging in to plant Sakura in the chest with a big forearm strike to the upper chest! Lauren wanted to make a statement putting all the power she could into the opening strike against Sakura!

Sakura chuckled at the heavyweight’s joke. Sounding a bit more nervous than she wanted to. “Well, maybe I’ll be the one slamming yo-“ Sakura’s joke was interrupted by the bell, causing her to give a slight yelp. “Gah! Sounds a lot louder than it does on TV…”The rookie thought with a blush.

Unfortunately for Sakura, that wouldn’t be the end of her embarrassment, as she got caught off guard when Lauren’s gigantic forearm slammed into the rookie’s chest!

“GAH!” Sakura cried as she stumbled back from the blunt blow. There was a dull pain in her chest… but the rookie noticed something strange. ”That… didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would…” she mused, still a bit stunned.

Lauren saw Sakura stumble back but she managed to remain on her feet! Lauren grit her teeth and surged forward, landing another forearm smash to the chest followed by a couple hard body punches to Sakura's abdomen! Ever since Jem humiliated her Lauren felt tired of being the nice lady of the ring. She had to win to keep her job. Her losing streak previously ended but she couldn't be satisfied with sneaking in a win once every four matches or so. She was making a statement tonight, and Sakura was going to be the target of her frustrations! To that end after the body punches Lauren would step back and wind up, leaping forward to hammer Sakura across the chest with a big clothesline!

Sakura raised an eyebrow at Lauren’s small rant. ”No one told me anything backstage, I was just kinda thinking out lo-OW!” Sakura explained. Or at least she tried too until Lauren’s gigantic fist burrowed into Sakura’s stomach. Over and over again.

Sakura clutched her stomach after the assault, stumbling back a bit as she groaned. ”Ugh… me and my big mouth…” Sakura thought as she tried to recover. Though, the rookie admitted that she’d been less than tactful. Tokiko always said that Sakura had a bad habit of saying what she was thinking. The rookie made a mental note to apologize after the match.

But now, the joshi had to deal with an angry Lauren from a present. One that was mere seconds from clotheslining the hapless young woman. Sakura braced herself against the powerful clothesline as it smashed into.

“GAH!” The Japanese-American wrestler cried as she took a few more steps back. Amazingly, she was still on her feet. Sakura panted, looking at Lauren. It was obvious the woman had some unresolved confidence issues. Not like the young joshi herself.

Sakura shook her head, banishing the thought. Maybe she could help Lauren after the match but right now, the gigantic blonde was her opponent. She stood still, hoping to bait Lauren into charging her again, so the rookie can finally counter attack!

Lauren looked on in shock as Sakura was still standing! The crowd was cheering, and a few people were even laughing at Lauren, pointing at her. She had leveled much bigger women with a clothesline before so to see Sakura still up was quite a surprise to say the least! Shaking her head Lauren moved in, this time moving forward as quickly as she could in another attempt to clothesline Sakura! "You can't withstand this!" Lauren screamed as she rushed forward hell bent on showing this little rookie that Lauren was not to be taken lightly!

Sakura felt a twinge of pity for the older woman, as she heard a few fans laugh. She knew how it felt to be laughed at. The blows were still very painful, Sakura would testify to that, but they weren’t enough to force the middleweight off her feet. She didn’t mean to humiliate her opponent, especially since it seemed that under normal circumstance, Lauren was nice.

Unfortunately, even a standard pro wrestling match was anything but normal and Sakura needed to make a good impression. Not to mention that it would be beyond disrespectful to Lauren if she didn’t give it her one hundred-percent effort!

With Sakura’s resolve hardened once more, she prepared to deal with the charging heavyweight. With that, the joshi would attempt to leap in the air and wrap her legs around Laruen’s neck. If Sakura succeeded, Sakura would then give the battle cry of ”Cherry Blossomrana Issue I!”. The rookie would try to flip backwards, attempting to use momentum as a powerful ally to her throw and force Laruen to flip forward and crash her back on the mat in a hurricanrana!

Lauren was confused as to what the hell Sakura was shouting, but she knew that her own momentum ended up used against her as Sakura hit her with a hurricanrana, leaving Lauren laid out on the mat! She howled in pain from the landing, her legs limply kicking the mat after the hard landing. Lauren rolled to her side rubbing her back clearly in a lot of pain as Sakura had managed to floor Lauren, something Lauren had yet to do to Sakura! Her pride was taking as big a hit as her body however,r and she grit her teeth vowing to get back up and crush this woman. Lauren was still trying to figure out her deal as the raw rookie pulled off quite an impressive move. Lauren knew she had much more experience in the ring though, and was still sure of herself and a victory.

Sakura panted as she lay prone, wide eyed. She had no idea that she’d be able to do that, the rookie was acting out on instinct. It seemed to impress some people in the crowd too, as she heard a few cheers after the large thud Lauren made.

Her mouth twisted into a grin as she got up. “Holy… can’t believe I did that!” she murmured as she got to her feet. Her smile grew wider as what she did started to sink in. Sure, she hit that move plenty of times in the dojo, but never in a real match. Much less against a heavyweight!

”Hell yeah! That was awesome!” Sakura cried as she pumped her fist into the air, inciting more cheers.

Unfortunately for the joshi, she was so caught up in celebrating that she didn’t notice Lauren slowly getting up…
