Eyes on Me - Katsumi Oshiro vs. LK Nova

Post by HotWheels »

Falls Count Anywhere

Lakelynn got to be the big show tonight - just the way she liked it.

She stood in front of the full-length mirror in the locker room, moving through an old Prismatic routine with muscle memory that never quite faded. Her hips swayed, arms extended in that familiar choreography, and she watched the way her ring gear moved with her body. The way the fabric clung and shifted, the way the colors and contours of her skin caught the light - shit, if she'd been allowed to wear anything like this back in her idol days, those idol days wouldn't have ended.

She looked too good. Too in tune with her own style. Too much like a woman to be admired.

All the things that mattered most to a budding superstar wrestler, of course.

"Yeaaah, there's no controlling my heart toniiiight," she mutter-sang to herself, striking a final pose and grinning at her reflection. Tonight was her night. No tag partner to share the spotlight with, Ramona was doing some sort of interview and would show up ringside later - just her, Katsumi Oshiro, and a chance to prove she could carry a match solo. Well, almost solo.

Her gaze slid over to Bambi, who was perched on a bench with a compact mirror, applying what had to be her third layer of eyeliner. She was dressed like she was heading to a club, not accompanying someone to a wrestling match - little miniskirt, halter top that showed off way too much for someone who wasn't even wrestling tonight, and heels that Lakelynn was pretty sure violated some kind of safety regulation. Lakelynn's eye twitched slightly. She herself was supposed to be the main event tonight, and here's Bambi looking like she was ready for her own photoshoot.

Not that she said anything because she'd show off enough that no one would notice the blonde bombshell.

Bambi finally snapped the compact shut and leaned back, admiring her work. "So this is really gonna go well without our actress spokesperson doing all the talking for us?"

Lakelynn spun around, hands on her hips. "Yeah, of course! What am I, an idiot? I just gotta go out there, show off, and show out. If this Katsumi's causing me any trouble, I'll just figure out a way around it. That's what we do. We don't need Ramona to think for us."

Bambi seemed to take that as a good enough answer - mainly because she'd already pulled out her phone and was angling it for the perfect selfie. She tilted her head, pursed her lips, snapped a photo. Lakelynn sighed, loud and dramatic, and as Bambi reviewed the shot, she lunged forward and threw up a peace sign right in the frame.

"Lakelynn-!"

"Photo bomb!" Lakelynn cackled, already moving toward the door as a stagehand poked their head in and waved her toward gorilla position.

"You're so annoying," Bambi muttered, but she was already getting up, phone still in hand.

Lakelynn reached out and grabbed her by the front of her halter top, tugging her along. "Come on, princess. You're with me tonight, so try to keep up."

"I am!" Bambi protested, swatting her hand away but following nonetheless, heels clicking on the concrete floor.

They made their way through the backstage corridors, the distant roar of the crowd growing louder with each step. Lakelynn's heart started pounding in that good way - the way that meant she was about to get exactly what she craved. Attention. Energy. The eyes of everyone in the building locked on her.

Her entrance music hit, and the curtain parted.

Lights. Noise. The rush of it all hit her like a wave, and Lakelynn threw her arms up immediately, soaking it in. She bounced on her toes, grinning wide as she launched into her entrance routine - a little shimmy here, a spin there, choreography that still had traces of her idol training but adapted for the wrestling stage. She played to the crowd, feeding off their reactions whether they were cheering or booing. Didn't matter. She didn't even listen. They were watching.

Behind her, Bambi sauntered out with her phone already raised, taking a selfie with the arena lights in the background. Then another. Then one of both of them together as Lakelynn struck a pose mid-ramp.

"Are you seriously doing this right now?" Lakelynn called over the music.

"Documentation, babe," Bambi replied without looking up. "We look too good not to."

Lakelynn rolled her eyes but smiled through it. Whatever. She made her way down the ramp, high-fiving a few fans, throwing finger guns at others, keeping the energy sky-high. She slid under the bottom rope with practiced ease, popping up to her feet and immediately climbing the turnbuckle to pose for the crowd. Arms spread wide, head tilted back, grin plastered across her face. She soaked in every second of it before hopping down and bouncing on the balls of her feet again.

Bambi, meanwhile, had made her way to ringside and was now posing against the apron, phone angled just right to catch the ring lights and her best side. She didn't even glance up at Lakelynn. Lakelynn's mouth curled into something just short of a scowl as she looked down at her. Was she even going to pay attention? Be helpful with one of their little plans if she needed it?

The thought was brief, quickly shoved aside. She'd be fine. She didn't need help. She was the queen of this ring tonight.

Re: Eyes on Me - Katsumi Oshiro vs. LK Nova

Katsumi Oshiro, Punk Princess, veritable wrecking ball in a tight, slender package... is carded to face another newcomer to the ring tonight. But for once, she didn't mind it. Sure, she has every intention of running straight through this chick and turning this match into another statement victory. But that's not the right mindset for it. Not tonight. Tonight's going to be about having fun. Her way. Which invariably meant at the expense of the girl across from her.

She didn't recognize the name when it was given. She didn't bother looking anything up. Who cares who she is? Who cares what she's about? Katsumi's here to claim Katsumi's house. Katsumi might even star speaking in third person about it! ...Probably not. But the thought crosses her mind as she waits in the gorilla position, a dirty smirk tugging the corners of her lips.

Fair skin and trim body wrapped in clingy black just enough to cover what's needed; that's how the Punk Princess rolls. Thighs, arms, toned midsection, they all go completely bare before giving way to the dazzling gold-accented club-friendly wrestling gear. Even a generous amount of cleavage is left on display, but that's practically an industry standard. If one is to give chops, one must be prepared to receive them. Plus, it helps the girls breathe in the high-octane action. Regardless, tonight she's giving her entrance the full treatment: a cropped leather jacket hugs her upper-body, sleeve, Hollywood-quality, with shades to match.

The arena lights dim. The music fades.

Heavy electric guitar strums fill the cavernous air. Brilliant green and purple laserlights begin to dance around the stage perimeter.

The massive tron screen comes alive with the menacing visual that is Katsumi's logo.
Intro Video
The audience is already making noise. They've seen the Punk Princess paired with bright-eyed newcomers before. The anticipation builds as the song draws near its auditory release like a slow, heavy inhale...

The industrial rock kicks into full swing, and Katsumi rushes out into the open beneath a highlight reel of her greatest hits; high angle bodysplashes, brutal tapouts, and poised dominantly over a pinned opponent. Her arms are raised high, pausing on heel only to turn a quick spin, head tipped back to lavish in the noise.

And what a noise it is.

The audience couldn't be more split with her at first. Half the arena is showering the counter-culture diva in praise, cheer, adoration, and encouragement. Between bloodthirsty wrestling aficionados, classic simpery, and edgelords thinking she's the ideal woman, she's half-immersed in the electrical buzz of white noise exaltation. The other half is dominated by scorn, those who desperately want to see her comeuppance, those who despise her rude behavior, her savagery. Some just love to have someone to hate. Others hold grudges for past treatment towards their favorite wrestler. Some just want to see an edgy punkette get humbled.

The reasons don't matter. The sounds of each alike hit her body like currents in the ocean, washing over her, penetrating through her, feeding her. She thrives on it. Lives for it. Loves it. It's all her heart ever desired when she first idolized professional wrestling.

She's suddenly in motion. It's a confident stride, set with purpose and panache, her hips asway with each step. Audience members lean over the railing, reaching out in desperate hopes of getting a slapped high-five from the punkette. But her hands are raised to shoulder height, palms outwardly turned to either side of the aisle to both acknowledge and simultaneously dismiss the lot of them. 'You're not important. I'm here for her,' says the gesture.

It ratchets up the audience reaction just a little further. A little more teased. A little more aggrieved.

"AND HER OPPONENT!," begins the ring announcer enthusiastically. "Standing at a height of 5'7"! Weighing in at 124 lbs.!"

"From Osaka, Japan!"

"The Punk! Princess!"

"KATSUMIIII! OOOOSHIIROOOO!"

Grabbing the middle rope from the floor, Katsumi smoothly swings herself up onto the apron and pivots around to face the audience. She presents her left fist forward, her right fist moving beside it to slowly... crank... a middle finger up at everyone.

"Muah."

The ringside commentators can't believe it every time she does it. The audience is equal parts incensed, outraged, and delighted.

Katsumi arches her back over the top cable until her lower half swings over in smooth somersault, landing her boots on the mat. From there, she races up the furthest turnbuckle, perches upon the middle ropes with her knees braced against the top cables, and throws her arms wide, presenting herself to the otherwise neglected half of the audience. A confident, even cocky smile plays on her face, absorbing the wave of sound that hits her in response.

At last, Katsumi drops from her perch with a quick spin. She pauses at the center of the ring to pluck the shades from her face, fingers pinching the corners. They're folded up and tucked into an inner-pocket of the jacket. Without turning to her evening's opponent, her gaze cuts across to her through the corners, the vivid green eyes finally left bared. It's a quick glance from her face, to her belly and hips, down her legs, and back up again.

Katsumi moves into her corner and shrugs her jacket off before depositing it just outside of the ropes before turning to face Lakelynn fully, her lithe figure more openly on display. She leans back against the padding, left knee raised to rest her boot upon the bottom rope, her arms resting upon the top ropes at either side as the referee-girl checks her over.
Katsumi Oshiro
Once again, Katsumi's eyes land on Lakelynn and the blonde lingering nearby. But it's Lakelynn who takes the majority of her focus. She has a pretty face. Easily photogenic, easily the kind to make guys swoon. Maybe even girls. Katsumi's keeping her swooning in check, but if a girl who looked like her tried to get her number, she'd have a pretty good shot. Bright eyes. Beautifully striking, even. Cool hair. Tomboyish, spunky, she's into it. Tight body. She's definitely into that. Killer ring gear - the sort that screams confidence and understands the assignment. No one should be getting in the ring to be bland or boring, and this girl, this LK Nova, is definitely eye-catching.

But.. wait.

She looks kind'a familiar.

The eyes narrow and Katsumi's head tilts ever-so-slightly to the side.

She's sure of it. She's sure she's seen her before. Was it in the ring? Is she not a newbie...?

Lakelynn watched the whole entrance unfold from inside the ring, and okay, yeah, she had to admit - it was kind of impressive. The lights, the music, the highlight reel, the whole theatrical production of it all. Katsumi knew how to make an entrance.

But the crowd reaction? That part really caught her attention.

They were split. Half cheering, half booing, and Katsumi was eating it up like it was exactly what she wanted. Lakelynn's eyes narrowed slightly, her head tilting as she processed that. She didn't fancy herself some sort of master strategist like Ramona seemed to - how did an actress think she was that smart anyway? - but she understood crowds. She'd spent years chasing their approval, learning how to read them, how to work them. And this crowd? They weren't fully behind Katsumi.

Lakelynn's lips twitched with satisfaction. Perfect. She could work with that.

Her gaze tracked Katsumi as she moved through her entrance routine, all confidence and swagger, flipping off the entire audience with that cocky little "Muah" at the end. Lakelynn blinked, genuinely taken aback for a second. Who did that!? Who flipped off people who came to watch them!? If she'd tried something like that during her idol days, she would've been thrown out a window. Management would've had her head. The fans would've turned on her instantly.

Still, she knew what the Limelight Darlings wanted. They wanted the crowd behind them - no matter what horrible things they had to do to get there. And if the crowd was already loose on Katsumi, already half against her? Maybe they'd enjoy watching Lakelynn do whatever she needed to do to get the win.

Her eyes flicked over Katsumi again as she shrugged off her jacket and settled into her corner. Pretty. Annoyingly pretty, actually. Fair skin, toned midsection, legs for days, confidence radiating off her like heat. The kind of pretty that made people want to watch her, made them lean in a little closer. A flicker of jealousy sparked in Lakelynn's chest. It was the same kind of jealousy she sometimes felt around Bambi - catlike, territorial. People compared her to a cat sometimes in fact, didn't they? Fine. She'd lean into it.

Lakelynn started moving.

She prowled forward, slow and deliberate, circling Katsumi like she was sizing up prey. Her mouth twisted into a smug, crooked grin, hands planted firmly on her hips as she let her gaze drag over her opponent with exaggerated scrutiny.

"Wow," Lakelynn said, her voice loud enough to carry, dripping with mock sympathy. "Why do the people sound so disappointed? I mean, half of them are booing you. That's gotta sting, right?"

She took another step, still circling, still grinning.

"Is she such a loser that they can't even get behind her anymore? That's a real shame, huh?"

She glanced over her shoulder toward Bambi, who was standing at ringside, still fiddling with her phone and completely ignoring the conversation.

"Right, Bambi?"

Bambi didn't even look up. Lakelynn's eye twitched slightly, but she shrugged it off and returned with the same taunting smile.

Whatever Katsumi was trying to work out is quickly filed away for later when Lakelynn approached her. Not one to be willingly cornered, Katsumi slips from her position and strides in closer, letting the very slightly shorter girl circle her. For Katsumi's part, she stands in comfortable stillness, her left fist propping into the smooth curve of her as her hips cock aside. The free hand raises, fanning the luxuriously silky blueblack hair behind her back. It's an obvious, even theatrical preen.

She isn't bothered that this chick is trying to style on her. Hell, she'd do the same thing! Might even with the same line of thinking! This chick is trying to troll her! It's fun for all the wrong reasons. It tells her that her opponent can take it. Why else would she be trying to dish it out? But the attack vector needs some work!

"Why would something like that sting?," she calls back to the other girl with careless volume. "I don't care what those losers boo. Because I know what lame shit makes them cheer."

The audience will probably have caught some of that. Some will pop in enthusiastic agreement, some will ratchet up their condemnation. The 'lame shit' she's referring to, of course, is 'good girl stuff'. Sportsmanship, modesty, deference to authority.

Lakelynn directing her attention to Bambi also brings Katsumi's focus onto the blonde. She snork's softly, which blooms into a quiet giggle, then fully blossoms into a laugh. Her fist raises, fingers fanned over her lips in coquettish modesty. With a smile that absolutely reaches her eyes, she teases, "Maybe you shouldn't worry about the audience with me when your own little girlfriend can't give a damn about you!" With her free hand raised, index finger delicately bob-bobbing to indicate Bambi distracted on her phone.

She has no idea what their dynamic is. This impulsively felt like the quickest route to get on the other chick's nerves, is all!

"Okay, ladies, that's enough!," calls the referee as she begins to step forward. "Are you two ready!?"
