Don't Get Me Started

Match Type: Falls Count Anywhere
Victory Conditions: Pinfall or Submission, No Disqualification

Sometimes it felt like Morgan was browsing a catalog for potential match ideas. There were so many types that it was kind of hard to chose, but she had her fill of those regular boring matches. It was time for something new and Falls Count Anywhere sounded like it could be fun! That meant the match could go anywhere and was a true test of improv which had a nice angle to it. There was a section for wrestler generated ideas for matches and she'd have to give it a try sometime. Challenge someone she really wanted to see in something like an Escape match! It might be reaaaaally in her favor because that's what she is good at but hey, that's just a bonus.

Of course, Callie would have probably said something about taking it slow but what did she know about having fun? This was the reason why Morgan had joined, to rush to the fun stuff after all. She'll pick up the pieces later.
She's got the Magic
Oh hey.

Her cue to enter, stage left.

As always,

emerged with the flash of fireworks. She was entering the ring first so in her experience they often tried to hurry her up, so she'd save the card tricks for her opponent today. That and another surprise she tucked under her other wristband.

Speaking of, Morgan thought as she started down the ramp, just who was her opponent anyway? It wasn't a name she was familiar with but Morgan was rather new here so she wasn't sure if she should have known who Rina Kwon was. Korean? The surname implied as such but beyond that she had no idea. No matter, in the end, Morgan was going to whip her butt! Though only if it is fun and Rina isn't some stick in the mud. Her mind wandered on that thought as she paused to wave at a fan, blowing them a kiss. He seemed rather excited about that. Probably a fan of even her magician act!

Nothing to see here...
Rina was many things, loud, unpredictable, mildly unhinged, but careful wasn’t one of them.

Right now, she was huddled in the narrow trench running alongside the ramp, the space barely big enough to crouch in… well, for most members of the talent. She had an innate ability to fit in tiny spaces on account of being smaller than the average person in the roster. Her knees pressed against her chest as she waited in the dark. Her grin stretched ear to ear, eyes glimmering like a cat in the alley light. This was a Falls Count Anywhere match, no rules, no ropes, no mercy. Which, by her logic, meant the sooner you started the chaos, the better.

She pressed her palms flat against the cool floor, grimacing as she felt something tacky beneath her touch. She drew in a deep breath through her teeth and set her hand a bit more to the side, where the sensation didn’t seem to exist anymore. She was poised, leaning forward like a sprinter at the blocks, ready to spring. The plan was perfect. Morgan would come down all flashy and distracted, and Rina would pop out like a jack-in-the-box from hell. Easy.

“Eheheheh…” Rina chuckled cutely to herself, lips twisted in a mischievous little smirk. As she heard music boom over the sound system. It was only a matter of time now.

Then the pyro went off.

“GAH?!?”

The world erupted in flame and noise, a blast of light right beside her hiding spot. Heat pulsed in front of her, and Rina flailed backwards, landing flat on her butt with a thud. Her ears rang. She slapped her hands over her head and face, frantically making sure none of her hair had caught fire.

“They could warn a girl!” she barked into the void, voice drowned out by the roar of the crowd and the pyrotechnics. Her ears buzzed, unable to really make out her own words and the crowd might as well have been an ocean of garbled nonsense. By the time she blinked, the flash of lights from her eyes. Morgan was already halfway down the ramp, waving at fans and blowing kisses like the whole world adored her. Rina wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, her grin returning, wilder this time.
Image
quietly crawled up from the pit, dusting herself off and still rubbing her temples as her hearing fuzzed in and out. She crouched low and crept behind Morgan, her movements uneven from the ringing in her ears. Some members of the crowd began to jeer and shout to Morgan in an attempt to warn her that she wasn’t alone. Things that might have pissed Rina off had she been able to hear them.

When she got close enough, Rina pounced.

Her hand shot out, fingers tangling in the magician’s soft hair, yanking it back in one sharp jerk that snapped Morgan’s head toward the lights. “Abracadabra!” Rina shouted, practically yelling over her own ringing ears. “Lemme show you a trick!”

Before the crowd could even react further, Rina twisted her body with a grunt, attempting to drag Morgan off balance and hurling her back into the cold metal of the ramp with a harsh clang that reverberated through the arena. The magician’s fireworks hadn’t even finished sparkling before Rina had her first piece of chaos in motion.

Rina stood over her, chest heaving, her manic grin back in full force. “TA-DAAA!” she shouted down at Morgan, hands spread wide like she’d just pulled off the world’s greatest illusion, one that ended with a thud instead of applause.

Oh hey.

Frantic waving by another one of her fans. It was like she was trying to get her attention. Maybe she wanted a blown kiss as well. Was she saying something? Morgan smiled and gave another blown kiss. Maybe asking for a hug or something. Oh, that one was pointing frantically at her. He wouldn't get a blown kiss because that was odd so she raised a hand to wave and then-!

"Ow!" Morgan yelped as a tug on her blonde hair had pulled her head back. She awkwardly balanced on her feet with one of her hands reaching around swat wildly in the air but managing to score a flimsy slap to the arm of her opponent tonight, Rina.

“Lemme show you a trick!”

The lowest hanging fruit for a taunt in Morgan's opinion. That was almost as bad as that cursed blondie go-to that someone decided to sling at her. Where was the creativity in deducing someone to their base and most obvious features! It wouldn't stand and Morgan grimaced at Rina, meeting her gaze for a moment. Long enough in that titled back position to open her mouth right before the rather crude continued sling backwards.

THUD!

Morgan's back slammed against the metal ramp with a loud reverb making it even sound nasty. The blonde winced, "Uungh.." She groaned through gritted teeth, lifting her stomach to reach a hand around to nurse her back, slowly rolling to her side, back turned to Rina. The Anywhere part of the match still didn't quite hit but she thought she heard a bell, meaning her second singles match had finally arrived to a rather crude start.

Rina flinched the moment Morgan hit the steel. The clang that echoed up through her arm and into her shoulder was sharper than she’d expected—like slamming a cymbal instead of a person. She shook her hand out with a hiss, hopping back a half-step while laughing through the sting.

The referee who had been patiently waiting in the ring was just as surprised as Morgan. The moment the fight broke out, they were left waving frantically to the timekeeper area until the bell sounded and the match had officially started. The official slipped out of the ring, and started to make their way up towards the pair in a hurry.

Her ears were still ringing from the pyro, the roar of the fans blending with the dull metallic hum under her boots. When the bell rang, she didn’t respond, strutting around to Morgan’s side with a smug look plastered on her face. “Nice hair.” She sneered, wiggling her fingers with grabby hands.

With a quick, cruel stomp, Rina attempted to drive the sole of her boot down onto Morgan’s exposed midriff, the hit thudding into soft muscle and steel below. The sound earned a collective oof from the front row. She kept her boot planted, leaning her weight down on it.

With an annoyed look, she turned away from Morgan as she spotted the referee coming to stand by as a witness to the match. Rina clenched her fist threateningly at them and barked. “HEY! UH-HELLO?! RING THE DAMN BELL ALREADY!” While normally loud, she was shouting a bit more than usual over the ringing that had prevented her from even having heard the bell.

Much to the confusion of the referee, they glanced back to the ring, then to Rin, and gave a tentative thumbs up. Raising a hand to make a random waving gesture to placate her, as if that were good enough.

Satisfied, she turned back to Morgan, and stepped up onto her stomach, and hop down on the other side of her, reaching down to try and collect the girl by the head and drag her up.

Morgan rolled back from her side and onto her back again as she blinked her eyes in the bright overhead lights. Her back ached, head throbbed a little, but she was still all there as her opponent came into view at her side. Her blue eyes shifted and narrowed at the dull greys of Rina as the "compliment" came in about her hair. Though her breath felt short, she still opened her mouth to retort.

"Sh-Ooooough!" The blonde bellowed, her stomach compressed to push the sound out of her mouth. Her chest and head lunged upward, and her legs lifted around the heavy impact before the magician collapsed back to the cold metallic ramp. When the boot wasn't removed, Morgan hissed what air was left in her chest as her hands clasped onto Rina's footwear, trying to shove her off.

Shut up. What was Morgan was going for. Yet the harsh stomp of Rina's boot had cutoff the retort before it ever went anyway. She'd try again, especially now since Rina was yelling but there were more pressing matters. Like Rina's boot, for example.

She wasn't sure what communication was being had. Only that she barely recognized the motions going on. Had the referee come over to punish Rina for the cheap shot? Morgan titled her head up to focus more on the boot, pushing at it but not quite moving it. Her focus was locked in and she never saw Rina was done with the referee and back on her until the weight of the whole foot came down in a step.

"Uungh!" The weight netting a grunt from the blonde but she was finally relieved of the pressure. She gasped through a wince, sitting slightly up. Yet just as she opened her eyes, her opponent was already moving on her.

It was a little desperate, but Morgan shot her hands up to try and capture Rina's wrists as those grabby hands closed in to hold her at bay. Then she'd twist and maybe try to yank Rina down with her, so the pair were rolling across the ramp, fighting for position.

Rina’s fingers hooked into the collar of Morgan’s top as she crouched down, a wild grin still plastered on her face. “Up you get, magic girl-”

Before she could finish, Morgan’s hands shot up, catching her by the wrists. The motion yanked Rina off-balance, and her eyes went wide for a split second before gravity did the rest. Unfortunately for the blonde, the spunky brawler flopped down onto her.

“-Wait, what the-?! WHOA!

The pair went tumbling together, momentum taking over as they rolled down the steel ramp. Their bodies bounced and twisted, scraping against the metal with each revolution. The referee on the ramp, seeing the chaos barreling toward him, dove out of the way just in time, shouting something incoherent as Rina and Morgan spilled to the floor near the barricade in a heap.

Rina landed half on top of Morgan, the wind briefly knocked out of her. Her head thunked against the ground, and for a moment she just lay there, blinking at the rafters above. She winced, glancing over to the girl beside her and just… swatted a hand at her to smack her. Where didn’t matter. She was just pissed.

"Got you!" Morgan chirped as she pulled Rina with little care what happened after. A bit short sighted as her opponent fell on top of her and the momentum of the pair now aimed down the incline. The roll was less than graceful as the pair spun, continuing to propel themselves down. Hands grabbing and shooting out to try and maintain some level of control but there wasn't any between the two.

Where the ramp ended, the two finally came apart with Morgan doing one more half roll, leading the other as they came to a stop. Face down, Morgan took a moment to collect herself. She felt the weight of her opponent's waist sitting on top of her thighs as they had somehow ended up somewhat perpendicular after the break up.

Obviously, Morgan should be anywhere but there and she propped herself up on her hands, her torso lifting. She was blind to her opponent just as an open palm came down right in between her shoulders...

SMACK!

"Aauh!" Morgan winced, her head recoiling back. She felt the sharp sting of her opponent's palm flare up. She reached a hand around and cupped a hand as close as she could to the impact. "Why don't get you get off and beat it, cheater!" It was effective enough to stop Morgan from escaping but not enough to stop her attempted retaliation as that hand that nursed her back, now swung around to try and club a forearm into whatever she could hit. It didn't matter where as long as it was a tit for tat in Morgan's opinion.

Rina blinked, strands of her dark hair sticking to her forehead as she sat there on Morgan’s legs, breath short from the tumble. Her pulse still raced from the chaos of the roll, but hearing that word cut right through the daze.

“...Cheater? she repeated, her voice pitching high, practically squeaking, with disbelief before souring into something far sharper. She shoved a hand against Morgan’s shoulder to push them apart, only really succeeding in flopping her side onto her side since Morgan was pinned under her. “You serious right now?!” Rina snapped, her Osaka accent rough and quick. “There’s no rules, you dumb blonde! You think I need to cheat when I can just kick your ass legit?”

Her temper spiked the longer she thought about it. She rolled over, intent getting right in Morgan’s face, eyes flashing with righteous fury that would’ve made Zui Fang proud. “Don’t start crying about the play when you-”

WHAP!

The forearm cracked across her chest, cutting her sentence short. The sound alone drew a sympathetic “Ooooh!” from the crowd as Rina’s breath caught. She hissed, clutching the spot, her teeth bared in a flash of incredulity.

“R-right in the tit?! What the heckies! she barked, her voice breaking between anger and adrenaline. She scrambled up onto her knees, trying to get a bit of high ground in their grounded flailing. She balled up a fist, cupping it in her other hand as she raised them up and swung as hard as she could, trying to slam Morgan’s center mass with a double axe handle smash. “Make this shit disappear, Barbie!

Oh that one seemed to have stricken a nerve, Morgan snickered as she watched Rina reel from the impact of that forearm. The rage rising in her opponent was just bonus.

"Oooh did I hit a soft spot~?" Morgan mocked smugly as she kept her gaze on Rina while picking herself up onto her hands and knees. The crowd getting behind that hit was again, a bonus for the magician who fed off of crowd reaction. The wavering of her opponent was also great. Well-deserved for someone who cheated. Though there was one thing that Morgan got caught up on.

"Heckies? What kind of-woah!" Morgan began but jumped out of her jabbing question as Rina lifted her fits and tried to come down hard. The blonde was prepared this time. She pushed away with her forearms to the side to narrowly avoid the guillotine of Rina's fists as they came down. The motion, Morgan carried as she lifted one leg and fired off a kick into Rina's unprotected side!

A good follow-up but like cheater was to Rina, Morgan had her own issues with being called things.

"God!" She snapped, picking herself up onto her knees. "Barbie, blondie, dumb blonde. Why do wrestlers always go for my hair! Pick something else!"

She flared and while there were maybe a thousand better things to do. Morgan instead opted to scoot forward on her knees and try to grab Rina's wrists, looking to lock up her opponent and try to throw her weight behind her in an attempt to wrestle Rina backwards to the ground.

Rina’s hands came crashing down, only for Morgan to move out of reach at the last instant. The sound that followed wasn’t flesh on flesh but fist on steel.

CLANG!

“AAAAAgh-!” Rina’s howl tore through the noise of the crowd as the vibration shot straight up her arms. She clutched her gloved knuckles to her chest, the sting buzzing like electricity through her bones. Before she could even curse properly, Morgan’s boot connected clean with her ribs.

“Guuhh!” The smaller brawler folded sideways, her breath spilling out in a wheeze as she teetered on her knees. Her face twisted in pain, eyes watering as she curled protectively around her bruised side. The blonde’s words were just a blur at first, something about hair and names, Rina wasn’t processing much beyond the throbbing pulse in her hand and the ache in her ribs.

Then she felt Morgan grab her wrists.

“W-wait—!” she yelped, the word half a cough as the magician threw her weight forward. Rina was still winded, still trying to breathe, and the sudden shift rolled her onto her back with Morgan landing squarely on top. The air rushed out of her lungs again, and for a second, all she could do was blink up at the lights.

Her brow furrowed, her mouth twisting as she wriggled beneath Morgan’s grip, one arm pinned while the other fought for freedom. “H-hey-! You’re seriously mad about that?” she sputtered, half flustered, half indignant. “Wait-do people really pick on you for the whole pretty blonde thing? I…I’m sorry I didn’t… eh… consider that, or your feelings!
